- Today I'm talking to you about what happened to Watson & I this week. He was bitten whilst I was walking him. Below I'm listing the spray the dog trainer recommended carrying and a couple of books that may help also. She also suggested you could throw a handful of treats as that will kick in their sense of smell and the attacking dog may go for the treats (but make sure you have hold of your own dog).

Book on reactive dogs but will help with owner not passing on anxiety to dog - amzn.to/3ypngOr

Oh no poor boy! 😢 hope he feels better soon dog bites can be so scary ive had a few alterations with other dogs on my walks with baloo my labradoodle but luckily it hasnt ever resulted in a bite but im always wary
Poor Watson You Have been so much in your life Get well soon ❤
Oh Karen, I’m so sorry to hear this happening to Watson and you too. I can see the pain your in and I’m like you let it happen to me but not Watson or my Dobi. I’m with you it breaks my heart as well, I know all you’ve been thru with trying to keep Watson healthy and happy with everything that poor baby has gone through. That’s one of my biggest fears, my Dobi getting attacked by another dog. When we go on our walks, we go to the same park with weather permitting, I’m always looking to see if there are other dogs in the park and when we do cross one in our paths I just hold Dobi close to my side to see if the dog is friendly or not. Praying Watson will heal fast and you get your confidence back to enjoy your walks again.🙏🏻❤️🐾
Hi Karen, so sorry to hear about Watson, poor chap has been through so much, sending you both love and hugs. XxM
I am so sorry Karen to hear this awful. news. Get well soon Watson.
Love Kate XOXO
So sorry to hear this, I hope Watson is okay! no dog should not have a collar on, it is against the law to not have a ID tag with details. They should have control of their dogs at all times, it makes me so angry.
I feel the same, I've had German shepherds for 30 years and always been responsible, regardless of how friendly they were. You don't know what the other dog is like or yours could decide, not today pal! Very angry at the owners. It's a privilege to have an animal in your life and we only have them for a short time. If they can't be responsible then don't have a dog. Frankly, they don't deserve the dog
I didn't realize the UK didn't have dog parks. Poor guy, hope he makes a full recovery
All green spaces are for everyone here :0)
Oh my goodness Karen that is awful. Feel bad for you both. Poor Watson honestly he needs an ordinary life. Less stress. I seriously wouldn't know what to do or say.. like you im really upset by this. Id worry what if it was a child. I hope you are all ok. XxX❤❤❤🦮🐾🐾
Hi Karen, sorry to hear about Watson, I've been following his life since you first got him.
As you can see we have a shepherd and you're right, no dog should be out without a collar. If an owner has the slightest incline their dog is going to attack they must be muzzled when out, it should actually be a law. I Hope you get help on the zoom call, id be exactly the same if a dog harmed my dog. Still Watson's biggest fan, he has the best parents xxx.
💛 🧡 💛
Bless him Karen, I'm glad he's recovering well. I've had German shepherds for 30 years all completely different. From friendly to reactive. Regardless, I have always been responsible with them. I am raging at the dogs owners. Doesn't matter how placid or friendly your dog is, it's an animal and you don't know what could trigger them or what the other dog is like. What if their dog had got hit by a car for example? It's like bloody extending leads, I hate them. If you're not going to be responsible for your dog, don't get one. I've been in situations where I've seen people with dogs in the park and put mine back on lead only for them to either let theirs off or start to walk towards me. Maybe there dog's friendly but mines not I'm being responsible but their not it used to really piss me off. I would ask my husband, why did people "challenge" me when I was out with the dogs but not him? It's so hard to put your trust in others with something that means so much to you when something like your experience happens. I give people and dogs a wide berth when I'm out with Valentine because I know she's reactive and protective. I'd be devastated if she bit a dog and even though she's 13, I wouldn't take the chance for that to happen. It's my responsibility to keep any people, pets and her safe. Check out Marisa Peer for meditation and self hypnosis to help you feel calmer and gain your confidence back. Sending lots of love from Valentine and myself to you and Watson 🦮🐕🦺🐾💙♥️💜
Please don't use that spray! Not only can it also get in your dogs eyes but it causes "serious" eye irritation and can be fatal if ingested (like licking there muzzle & using their feet to clean their face?). It's not non toxic like the title reads!............. I have met several people that would routinely let their dogs bite other dogs but are always very nice and apologetic to get out of it. They don't think it's a big deal so they lie and act like they are really, really sorry so nobody reports them & they get out of paying vet bills. So be careful about being fooled and make them pay your vet bill so they will start taking it seriously and think twice before doing things like allowing their dog to run free. It's not uncommon for some breeds like German Shepard's to attack. I don't let my dog around strange dogs that are known for making serious attacks on other dogs like German Shepard's, Rottweilers, pit bulls, etc.
I hate German shepherds! Not their fault that they were breed as a one person dog. Poor Watson!
I hope you’re dog is fine, that why I don’t let my my small dog next to my dog and also I have two German shepherd and I also don’t let any dogs around my dogs.
And I also give my dogs in a leash cause I don’t trust other dogs.
Once again I hope your dog is okay
You should have taken him to the veterinary and also you can have checked him 😂
Please keep him on a leash and don’t let him get near other dogs and for one I don’t trust other dogs
I’m sooo sorry for your puppy
He WAS on a lead and we were leaving the park when the dog jumped out of a car behind us. There was no way for me to see the other dog as I was checking traffic and about to cross the road. We DID take him to the vet.
Nice victim blaming....
