Hi. Welcome back to the wonderful world of Courtney. I've got to tell you that when you do a search on UA-cam looking for new Courtney material, which thousands do on a daily basis, this reaction doesn't come up, so I only saw it because a friend sent me the link. So that's why your views are so low. Courtney usually drive thousands of views, but it seems no one can find this video.
During her stint on AGT, as you mentioned, Courtney sang exclusively 60's and 70's classic rock by the likes of James Brown, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin, dominating the stage with every performance and amazing everyone with her raspy, growling rock voice. She was so good that Simon Cowell signed her to a record deal with Syco/Arista (Sony Music) records. Courtney got so well known as a rocker that few realized how much more range she had to offer vocally. So in 2019, she released a series of four covers (Sign of the Times being one) of current hit songs across multiple genres with the express purpose of not only highlighting her vocal versatility but, also showing how her classic rock style of passion, intensity and emotion was fully relevant to today's music. Her creativity is off the charts and she re-made each of those covers into her own, as she does with every cover she sings. Courtney will only do a cover if she has a vision of how a song could or should be sung that is significantly differently than the original. In virtually every case, what she produces blows the original out of the water. I suggest when listening to a Courtney cover to always listen to the original first, if you haven't heard it, because it will only make what Courtney has done to it all that more amazing. For example, she took 'Old Town Road', a Country/Hip Hop mega hit and completely transformed it into something, in the best of ways, that was unrecognizable from the original.
Courtney has been trying to release her debut album of original music for well over a year and a half now but, like everything else, it has been delayed multiple times by the Covid situation. It will drop sometime this year and it will be epic. Just to point out how sensational Courtney is, she was 14 when she recorded this song.
You mentioned that you found Courtney's UA-cam channel, so suggestions for next reactions would be those songs from there. You will hear spectacular music across multiple genres from rock to funk to ballads and all are exquisite. Courtney can sing just about anything and make it spectacular. She even had a short opera clip go viral. She is a worldwide phenomena and now has over 2 Billion on line views. For those of us that follow her, she is truly the voice of a lifetime.

She’s has some great short covers on TikTok if you’re interested. As for the album the whole deal was put on hold due to covid lockdowns and travel bans. Fingers crossed it will be out this year.

Good timing for getting back into the Courtney scene about 4 days ago she was in LA and she did a broadcast with Howie Mandel and she was doing some rehearsing and recording in LA then after the Howie Mandel interview she was leaving for Pittsburgh trying to finish her album out this is one of four covers someone you love sucker and old Town road which she literally rocked she also wrote her own song and did it on AGT the champions at 15 an amazing song thanks for the Courtney Outlook man

Great reaction to this phenomenal song by Courtney! So good a reaction I just subscribed to your channel. When I first heard Courtney sing this song or I should say for the first several times I listened to it I was mesmerized by her falsetto. I was already a huge Courtney fan by then. She was actually only 14 when this was recorded. She sings just about any genre and always puts her own spin on it. What an amazing voice. Yeah, she did 4 songs in this "Cover Sessions", and all were really good. I follow her on Instagram and TikTok, but she mostly has just been posting the goofy stuff that kids post. I was really looking forward to her busting out in a big way. I'm curious why you don't post a link to the original song? Oh, her audition song was by Black Crowes, "Hard To Handle"

You’re right. She’s amazing! There’s videos of her all the way back when she was 9 or 10. Try Elvis’s Can’t Help Falling in Love With You when she was around 10. She was also on The Voice Kids U. K. when she was 12. She rocks the stage there too. There’s 4 more performances on AGT 2018 besides the one you saw. On AGT The Champions 2019 she sings an original song. ( Pretty Little Thing )

Great reaction Uncle Gij! Courtney recorded "Sign of the Times", along with 3-other songs she called her "Cover Sessions" album in 2019 when she was only 14, about 1 year after her AGT performance. I suggest you react to the other 3 Cover Sessions songs which are all top-class. Of particular interest might be "Old Town Road" which she completely turned on it's head and converted it from a hip-hop + country fusion song, to a rock song. Btw, the AGT audition of Courtney's, when she was only 13 in 2018 was actually "Hard To Handle", written by Otis Redding in the 60's, and popularized by the Black Crowes in 1990. I don't think Janis Joplin covered that one.
Courtney did sing Joplin's "Piece Of My Heart", but on the last night of the show, after the winner had already been decided. One other cover you'd LOVE of Courtney's is the following year after AGT, when she was 14, she was invited to sing 2-songs at a concert by British rock group, The Struts, including "Piece Of My Heart". Most fans just do a lookup of Courtney Hadwin and would miss this reaction. I just happened to be lucky and happened upon it. It’s a great reaction. You should get tons of viewers for this.

I played bass in my high school years. So lucky to play with Johnny and Edgar Winter along with Janis Joplin when the weekends came to jams. Johnny and I graduated together and Janis went to a different high school about 25 miles away.
Thanks, Curtis, for reacting to my favorite budding superstar, Courtney Hadwin. You correctly referred to her as a prodigy; her voice, passion and creativity are unique and without peer, IMO! On the AGT audition you mentioned, Howie Mandel likened her to Janis Joplin, but the song she sang was Hard To Handle, originally done by Otis Redding in the 60's, then popularized later by the Black Crowes. Courtney does have the rasp and passion a la Joplin but really only sounds like herself and not any other one person. She is becoming a creative songwriter and, at 17 now, is really pushing against the pandemic to get her debut album released very soon. Her forte is live performance on stage, which she owns. She has more 2018 AGT rock songs, several great covers on her channel as well as videos going back to age 9-10. While on pandemic shutdown , she has been posting various things on social media for a huge worldwide following.

Yeah that's how I reacted too. Definitely my favorite of the four excellent "Cover Sessions" she did in 2019, when she was still 14 according to what I've read, though I think they were all put out after her 15th birthday. Last year she did a cover of John Lennon's Christmas song. She's been writing original songs ever since America's Got Talent and a long delayed debut album should be out soon.

First of all, Welcome to the world of Courtney Hadwin. It will be a journey you will not be disappointed with. It seems that many have forgotten that out of these four sessions, where you listened to the first of them. She did these because she wanted to show a different side of herself. Because many thought she could only sing rock and scream. But she quickly showed that this was not the case. She could sing calm ballads as well and more. She was only 14 when these were made. She has not had an easy journey to where she is now. Both during her appearances in Voice Kid UK 2017 and AGT 2018, she got many haters. Who wrote not so good thing about her, as you are ugly, you can not sing, you just scream and so on. And then we are not talking young people but adults. Not easy for a 12-13 year old to handle but she did and she did it very well. During that time, she also gained many many fans, alot more than the haters. I want to say she has quite a few hardcore fans. Who does not tolerate bullying of her. You do not have to like everyone but writing a lot of shit is not ok. You can talk and say so much about that girl indefinitely. She's so down to earth. Has a great dose of humor, great actors, etc. Feel free to follow her on Instagram, FB and TikTok where she often talks to us, all at least as many as she has time to answer.
We who followed her for a few years now. We're just waiting for her album to be released which today's set can be anytime now. 😃

I'm disappointed I didn't see this reaction by you Curtis earlier. I'm always on the lookout for anything new for Courtney. I really hope you do another reaction to her real soon. Since you've seen her on AGT you made a great choice reacting to this side of Courtney. She deserves so much exposure. She has close to a half million subs on UA-cam, but really I would million more already know about Courtney and are just waiting patiently for COVID to give her that chance to get back out in the world to get the recognition to all those who missed out on her during AGT. When Courtney showed up on that show and got to millions around the world, she brought back new life to so so many people who were just tired of what the music industry did to great artists. I really believe Courtney Hadwin single handedly got the blood flowing of a great many rock n roll and RnB music lovers. And when she release this song and the other 3 on her Cover Sessions EP right after AGT when she got signed, she also got the attention of so many of today's music lovers too who didn't get raised on old school music she did on AGT.
I think she's getting ready to get back out there very soon. It seems a bit too quiet for Courtney the past few weeks. She's usually a lot more active on social media. But in the meantime, maybe you can find time to do another reaction to one of her other performance she did when this video she did was recorded. It's a combination of funk and rock she made out of a very popular Jonas Brothers song. But like she always manages to do somehow, made it a lot different and her own song. I bet some of the artists she's covered are either envious of how she can make a #1 song better than what they did.
