    Should I Bag it or Leave it?!

      Bag it if you're going full custom.

    • @ModdedProjectsGarage

      @@richardmorris7063 new plan is to drive it for a couple years and just enjoy it as is, then bag it and get a couple of things sorted out. I’m scared if I start something I’ll go all in and it’ll be sitting in the garage for a couple years until it’s all done.. “while I’m in here” kind of things😂

    I've had a 1961 for almost 40 yrs. Stuff would not work when she'd sit for awhile. Then after awhile it would all start working again!!
    This car is over all in EXCELLENT condition!!!
    Great purchase, hope you're gonna keep her stock. Fewer & fewer originals are left & the stock sedans are really starting to climb in value.

      😂 yeah it’s definitely has a mind of it’s own! About keeping it stock.. Me and my wife talked about this and the plan is to leave it alone. It’s definitely not something I do with my vehicles, but it’s just to nice of a car to cut up. I’ve gotten more looks, compliments, and people walking up to me all over the place and ask me about the car just the way it is than any of my other cars.

    Beautiful Continental. When I was very young, my grandfather, who was a plant manager at Ford, drove a new Continental, Mark III and Mark IV throughout the 60’s and 70’s. He was issued a new lease car every year. The year he retired, he was driving a fully loaded, dark green 1976 Thunderbird. I loved those Lincoln’s even though I had no idea what it meant to drive a luxury car. When I was 4 or 5, my favorite place to sit was on the folding rear armrest. It was the only way I could see out the windows. The only thing he really had to choose every year was the color. A few years when a family wedding was approaching, he’d pick white so the car could be used in the wedding. They just don’t make them like this anymore.

    Trunk lid typical rust area. My 64 is starting to do the same as yours . I love the opera doors! You may not have a black windshield washer bag located in the engine compartment on passenger side. They often leaked and people would throw them out as they did on my 64. Your back seat courtesy lights. Each one can be turned on individually. Press the chrome square next to the light. Its actually a button. Like your correct whitewall tires with the gorgous wheel covers. Your car sits as it should. Dont mess with that. Many put crazy looking wheels on them and they look like crap. Keep it original as Lincoln had intended it to look.

    😀 Wonderful video, Bro! 😀 Thanks for the walk round 😀 it looked like your screen wash bag was missing. Your inner high beam lights may not be working because there’s a problem with your electronic valve relay circuit, which takes about 20 seconds before you can switch beams. Lovely looking car - I also have a 1965 lincoln over here in England🇬🇧 and I’m intending to keep mine all original. 😀 Your rear window that doesn’t work sounds like a dirty switch, but your other window sounds like the drive pad from the motor has disintegrated. You can get a new one off Amazon! 😀 The central locking is all vacuum run off the carburettor vacuum, so the rubber tubes may have perished. Thanks for your vid, Bro! 😀

    BTW headlights: the inner lights are the high beams. The outer lights are low beam only (or that's the way it should be). The washer button should automatically trigger a few swipes of the the wipers. If it doesn't shut off it may have a leaky valve somewhere. Wipers are hydraulic off the PS pump.

    • @ModdedProjectsGarage
      @ModdedProjectsGarage  2 роки тому +1

      I got the lights working. They were just burnt out. I haven’t messed with the washer switch yet. My blinkers are going out. They only work for a couple of blinks and then quit working until the car sits for a day or two.. weird haha. But that will be my next to look at.

    change out your single bowl master cylinder to a double bowl master cylinder, because when you loose your brakes on a 5500 pound car there is no stopping it. I know this because i lost my brakes on my 65 lincoln and it was the scariest thing.

    Fan Shroud: Nope there wasn't one. My dad had a 64 when I was a kid, they didn't have a shroud at least on the non-AC version. He drove the 64 almost 300,000 miles and it never wore out. He sold it due to a charging problem the Lincoln dealer couldn't fix. Turned out later it was just the alternator! These are absolutely amazing cars.

    Hope you undertand the amount of work and dollars, MAJOR dollars it would take to rehab this. I say restore it to original, though it is not mine. If you restomod, less is more. Seen some really great slab Lincoln restomods whers they backed up the Brinks truck, but they were muted touches, where many things were upgraded, but they kept the basic aesthetic of the car. Dollars? You could easily drop 50k on the car and 80 percent chance much more than that.

    Original as it sits Is amazing but these cars when bagged or lowered in any way makes them look like it was the one thing missing from the factory. I bet the first drawing of this car more resembles the lowered look that usually never gets put into production due to it not being practical. So in long answer- YES bag it.
