If anyone notice Chrono's victories over and over is not that he's a good player but he has that much of a strong faith in his deck that it's crazy and also himself as a character. It makes sense why he's strong as you all recall how how Chrono grew with the people he met. He's not strong because he was alone before he met Vanguard and became strong because of the excitement and memories he made. But everyone... While it is just a card game a good card game anime has the game connect to the character themselves and tell something about them Yugioh has done that since day with the duel monsters anime. And it only went deeper as things went along until you got to 5ds where you literally had the card effects themselves telling something about the characters for example stardust dragons constant sacrifice to prevent his allies destruction mirroring yuseis own constant need to sacrifice for his friends. Or Jack with red dragon arch fiend who's effect represents Jack gaining power by throwing everyone else away.
tbh taiyou could have used gurgit g3 first skill to find a guardian and get a kanzen frm there sinc his dmg checks shown that he had a kanzen in there. unless he had no more cb or soul lol
