speaking of Nynaeve, I finally realized why I loved her so much. She is just like Granny Esmeralda Weatherwax. I was re-reading Witches Abroad and there were so many situations with Granny in that book that just made me think of Nynaeve. "Blessings be on this house," Granny said, perfunctorily. It was always a good opening remark for a witch. It concentrated people's minds on what other things might be on this house.
I know they both played it well, but reading that conversation, it does not in any way that I can see, hint that the two people in that conversation have had a private conversation before. It is them basically letting each other know what they know about each other. There is nothing in that conversation that in any way says "these two have been meeting and have very much enjoyed each other's company prior to this conversation". Even in their thoughts that see when we're in their respective POVs, there is no hint that they had been meeting and enjoying each other's company. Literally nothing but that one conversation in the Stone. And then she's swooning on his lap many books later.
@@LezbiNerdy as a court bard to her relations, they must have crossed paths when she was younger. Perhaps admiration from afar, for the pretty man courting a queen. Also in the stone he changed, with the letters helping rand and the mat conversations. And that was maybe where she found out about the rescue. I wonder if season 3 will shed some light on it. I think if we had got the whole new spring trilogy, it might have explained, perhaps that is a reason RJ didn't finish it, it might have spoiled even more of the hidden plot lines. 🤔
I mean, I wonder if the whole "men and women worked together in the Age of Legends" thing depended a lot on the one thing that all WoT characters absolutely suck at - communication. After all, they can't see each other's weaves, and so maybe Aes Sedai had, over time, deveoped their own technical language for working together. Which the Forsaken don't use much, either, because - as we know - they *suck* at cooperation.
Egwene goes from a stubborn child to THE Amyrlin Seat, who will be the measure for all Seats going forward. After being raised to the seat as a novice: She overcomes the rebel aes sedai council and out maneuvers them to the point where they submit openly to her. During this time she also opens the books of the tower massively expanding the tower's numbers and finding several women who have power beyond some Aes Sedai. When captured she undermines Elaida so thoroughly (while receiving nightly beatings) that Elaida percieved her as black ajah and is able to use the power against her (And at that point Elaida didn't even know the half of what Egwene had done.) She purges the black ajha from both rebel and loyalists, accepted as their true Amyrlin.
Most impressive character for me: Tam al thor. Raises the dragon reborn as a single dad in a world dominated by women. Is never pissed at his luck (can't have kids, wife dies early, you name it the guy has rotten luck). Thinks losing his dominant hand is just something you should expect as a soldier (Tam inner thoughts must be so bleak) so he trains without it just in case. Has 0 qualms about following someone else into battle because he just doesn't think he's the right man for the job even though his experience alone should put him in charge. Oh and he survives a mini last battle (battle of the Two Rivers), calls a mythic aes sedai a bully to her face and follows a Taveren into tarmon gaidon and somehow lives (honestly I would have made him Morgase's love interest : he has a thing for red heads and you should give the guy a bone) and even Lan thinks he's awesome (which is as high a praise as a human can reach in the WOT honestly.) For me Tam is the goat.
Ali clocked it at "Master Bard". It was like Chapter 4 of Eye.

I always got “Aww, did you wrap this yourself?” All I can say is Thank Goodness for the invention of giftbags!
Lezbi Nerdy: trying to catch up on memes before S3 comes out
The fandom: ... and I took that personally.
Remember Thom and Moraine were both very skilled at the great game. So there was probably way more communication than we saw.

Guess it's time to upload those 30+ memes I've got saved up.
New meme review and ironically on my Birthday.
Hippo birdie two ewe
Happee Burfdae!!!🎉
I imagine King Chuckles is always in pain; I know I would be if I'd spent 70-odd years as an apprentice.
I didn't know I need this, but now I need a "Nightmare before Christmas reaction" from you!
Almorat Mor. I can only remember this because of the Benoit Blanc voice that Gus uses.
Princess Bride is my second favourite movie, right behind Love Actually. I'm happy to watch them anytime. 😊
So women are dex builds and men are strength builds.
Omg. 😂 "the man" in the land rover /rand lover meme is Lahey. From trailer park boys.

I always assumed they linked. And the forsaken can't surrender their control very easily so that's why they don't do great works.
Princess Bride Quotes - love it

Left out: She fixes the fabric of reality
Accepted, not Novice :)

I think cram school is how I've usually heard the similar Japanese thing translated.
We usually translated it as 'tuition centre', but cram school works.
You are really cruising lately. You might actually get caught up for S3
@LezbiNerdy - fixating on the Dexterity/Strength stereotype; but the whole only two gender based types of magic thing - woosh! :)
oh, I have talked about that at length in other videos
