@3:35 *"maybe she didn't want that"* - ofc she didn't want it Aaron but Carmilla doesn't understand why Dracula didn't turn Lisa no matter what she wanted becuz like most vampires, she only views humanity as *pets or food* - Carmilla seems to not be able to comprehend the possibility that Dracula actually loved his late wife...
very interesting assessment. Carmilla seems to not understand "love" or "friendship" as concepts. She views the world as the ruler and the ruled....as we will see clearly later on in this season...
@@AlecArtComics - i'm basing my impressions of Carmilla solely on what i've seen up till this ep. cuz i haven't watched anything past it - but so far it seems like the abuse she suffered at the hands of her former sire has clouded her judgement and shaded her worldview since killing him which i'm thinking, is why she keeps referring to Dracula as a *"weak, old man"* like the one who made her - she probly made an unspoken vow to never let herself fall into the position of being under any weak man's control again Carmilla interprets the *inherently human emotion of love* Vlad had for Lisa as a sign of him being *"weak / confused,"* therefore proof that he is *unfit to rule* - she's been subtly *sowing seeds of doubt* among his generals ever since she walked thru his castle door and first put his human marriage into question...
That makes me wonder. Does Godbrand recognize that he loved Lisa? He mentions that Dracula is in mourning, that he's suicidal, and depressed. He'd only recognize that if he acknowledged that Dracula was hurting. Which if he did that would make sense. Viking culture made a pretty big deal about marriage and he seems to value his culture. I doubt he himself sees humans beyond food and pets either but, he does have the moral high ground to apologize for being a bigot even if he's still prejudiced he's wise enough to acknowledge that he was in the wrong and humble enough to see that in order to try and solve a problem he sees he has to apologize and reach a mutual ground with Hector and Isaac which fails but, an attempt was made.
When watching this episode, did anyone else think "wow, these vampires are wasting a lot of blood." I just didn't see that much drinking going on when I saw this on Netflix. XD

@6:31 *"then know...you may be alone"* - Dracula actually seems to sense the *subtle feelings of treachery* in the body language and behavior of *Hector, his other generals and even his vampire guard* so he chooses to keep company with the only ally in his entire castle that he knows still has his back, Vlad's only real friend, Isaac...
He was also saying that if he were to die (cur Adrian: “this entire war is nothing but the worlds longest suicide note”) then Isaac would be alone without a friend. Without Dracula
@4:24 *"i heard you moving across the sand"* - human Isaac was actually able to sneak up on Dracula himself - his various skillsets plus his *unwavering loyalty* is a testament to the reasons Vlad *personally handpicked Isaac* to be a leading general in his army
*General Carmilla* set a plan in motion to overthrow Dracula *before she even arrived* at his castle which is why she was the only one late to his summons - *sowing the seeds of doubt* in Hector was a key step in her attempt to sack the castle and *assume Vlad's throne* LIKE# 223
the *Vamp General's brutal night attack* on the small town of unaware and defenseless ppl shows what the vampire race would truly be like in the world *w/o strong leadership* and also the conditions that necessitated the *generational Belmont family crusade* in order to fight back against all the OP creatures of the night which *prey on humanity*

since the Belmont line has been made *almost extinct* by the church, those 3 are basically the only thing standing between Dracula and his vamp nation *wiping humanity off the face of the planet* so going off half-assed to face dracula's hordes before they're ready is a *sure way to earn a swift death* even for alucard... taking the time to study the Belmont's vast family library, researching for an edge to *tip the already heavy odds* in their favor in this war is *doing something* which shows that even for a half-human *"floating vampire jesus,"* homework is still tedious af😑 - besides, i don't mind the *slow build* since it gives the audience more time to actually care about this group and for them to form a stronger bond with each other which will make them an even more effective team when the *inevitable battles for mankind* actually starts...
Although I understand their frustration, I believe it's "realistic" in the sense that the heroes really have no way of knowing where the castle is or even what to do when they get there since it'd just teleport away again. It also makes no sense why the heroes would be in this tiny no name village out in the middle of nowhere. Inside the Belmont estate looking for answers, although boring is pretty much the best place to be.
humanity was some real fck ups during the time period depicted in this series - killing Vlad's wife cuz she was educated, driving their *only real defense* against Dracula or any of the other dark creatures of the world, the Belmonts, into *near extinction* then *ostracizing / abusing* a warrior as committed and skilled as Isaac, leaving him a *free agent* for the vamp-side - it's no wonder they're being so handily slaughtered like this... now that ppls *collective asses are on the line,* the heroes are expected to jump headfirst into this threat-level to their certain death with *no preparation?* - nah, i say let em hit those books till they find a plan of attack that at least gives them a chance of winning against these *extremely stacked odds...*
The depression of Dracula’s entire persona is gut wrenchingly sad. He deserved a hug!

which one do you want first? lol
One of the things I really love about this series, is how Dracula isn't just a mindless, thoughtless monster.

I feel like this series is definitely meant to be binged and not meant to be watched weekly.

It’s honestly both.

God, Isaac is badass
I know right

Same. It's almost like they enjoy the killing more than they need the blood
There's always more cattle.
@@matthewletexier they enjoy when the humans try to run and it gives them joy, drinking the blood os just a luxury as they can survive on pig blodd
I just wanna say that Isaac is incredible as a character he really is. And Hector despite being manipulated by Carmela is growing on me
Is it wierd that Issac and Dracula are my favorite characters on this show
No, well written bad guys are always exciting to watch.
It’s not weird at all I love my heartbroken Drac and his best friend Issac
Dude solo's a vampire with a belt. Now try to top that Belmont....
He will...
A belt is kind of like a whip......almost

Well lets be honest, isaac did attack godbrand from behind and godbrand did not expect to be attacked. But Isaac is a real badass in this series.
