Blackpool in Winter - Do people still visit?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лют 2025
- Blackpool is one of the most popular seaside towns in the UK with many people visiting in the summer. But what is it like out of season in the winter?
Is it still just as popular and do people still visit?
I walk around Blackpool, check out some of the main attractions, eat some fish and chips, look at the Blackpool tower and walk on the beach and piers to see what its like.

Would you visit Blackpool in winter?
Comment below 😀
I did once, but found it a bit sad. Come April, it awakens for the summer, and that's when like to see it.
Its definitely livelier in the summer!
Yes been several times in autumn and winter
I went there once, only for a few hours, that was a week too long. Once I realised that you couldn't get any decent food I left. My Buddha what a Rat hole.
The structures near the Comedy Carpet are called 'Odyssey'. They were made by a local artist called Jack Irving. He has also designed costumes for Lady Gaga. They were part of the lightshow we used at the Christmas market.
As for visitors in winter. Weekends are still pretty busy..especially in the bars. The piers are always shut in winter as they use off season to make any repairs needed.
I thought they might be to do with the Christmas market! Makes sense for the piers 👍
If you live by the seaside you soon learn that the tide times change every day and another visit could see the tide out and miles of beach available in the early morning. I live in Blackpool and it is undergoing a much needed redevelopment - it will take a few years but Blackpool should become an attractive tourist hub once again. Thanks for visiting and for this video - happy travels.
I did think the tide came in later than it did as I have been before but got caught out this time!
I live on the Mississippi gulf coast in America. I grew up fishing, and working on shrimp and oyster boats. I always plan my fishing trips on the tide charts. They're published in the local newspaper. I fish either an incoming or out going tide. That's when the bait fish are moving and the bite is on. Neap tide is a tide that's stationary and not moving at all. You might as well keep the boat at the house on those days and watch football.
I was born on the Fylde coast , such a beautiful stretch of coastline with some amazing places to visit.....sadly Blackpool's the carbuncle sat in the middle of it.
Fish and chips looked amazing but you'll always pay a premium in a fish restaurant like Harry's
Keep up the good work

Along with Bridlington Blackpool must be one of the worst seaside places in the UK unless you want to go on the piss then it alright
If that was everyone's opinion, they would be struggling for visitors.
@@basylpeterjones I didn’t say it was everyone’s opinion it’s mine everyone’s entitled.. don’t get upset about it
Whose gonna visit in summer holidays when you can't get a hotel, illegal immigrants taken ovrt
Utter rubbish. We've had some of the highest footfall for years this season. As for the ignorant illegal immigrant comment. There are a small number in the Metropole hotel which wasn't open to the public anyway.
Ha gutted the staff spit in the fryers to see if their hot enough to cook in worst chippy in blackpool
What?? Are you talking about harry ramsden??
@@darkvader7231 yes knew a manager who told me all about it he quit on the spot when he saw it
@@Jim1bobs So glad I dont eat there or any of the franchise fish n chip places. You cant beat the independant chippies!!
@Jim1bobs No he didn't. He was the one doing it, got caught, got sacked. And this is the story you're left with.
