    Really hope they dont add search effects. Much prefer the "look at the top X cards, pick one that meets criteria Y, then put the rest on the bottom"

      I think if they do add search, it will be when the game is in a better spot for game length. and even then it will be limited

    I like the equipment idea and the resurrection mechanic. Especially with Mim there needs to be some sort of mechanic that lets you interact with your graveyard. Either like a Belle style card but based on your graveyard size or like a monster reborn type card

    These are actually nice. Altough i would like to see some twist to these, because these are just yugioh cards with actual manacost attached to them.
    The newly introduced Location system is exactly what i was thinking about in terms of new twist.
    My Suggestion as a mechanic: Team-Up cards. This is sort of from Pokemon, but i dont really like how Pokemon did it. I dont exactly know how they could be made interesting, but would be nice certain characters team up.
    Some dlonger design critic if you are interested:
    Equipments/Attachments... whatever you want to call them is as you sad the most likely. Not much change needed, we sort of have this but not directly attached to the card.
    Inkwell excelaration: This is a dangerous mechanic. We also sort of have this. Some cards just simply say (X card costs Y less) which is practically the same.
    Reanimation: I do love the idea of reanimating/reviving. Altough i wouldnt make it easily achiveable, since the moment you start to add these mechanics, the graveyard becomes your second hand. Thats not very good in a long term as we see in yugioh.
    Searching: Thats probably where my main critisism comes in since, searching would make the game very yugioh like.

    Ink doesn't work like mana, so an ink acceleration should work like Lantern (The next card you play cost x less), making you ready x inked cards from your inkwell, or allowing you to play a card with cost x or less without paying it ink cost.

    As Kodhok said, we need the blocker mechaninc but not for attacks , for questing

      We've got pseudo quest blocking with Jasper and then the cards that grant reckless, but i agree there needs to be more ways to come back when you're down a lot of lore. Probably just need more efficient lore drainers or something

    Don’t we already have temporary inkwell acceleration with the card “Lantern”? You exert it and pay one less for a character. That is the same thing the flick card does, only in a character version.

      Similar, but Lantern only works for characters. The ink from flik wouldn't have that restriction

    On effect that probably would be a nightmare for certain decks would be hand altering. I mean this cold move might work for a deck.

    All players banish their hand and then show the top (ink amount used for card) cards. The one with the highest total cost gains one lore for each player that loses lore this way. All other players lose one lore. All players gain the cards revealed this way.

    I think the temporary inkwell acceleration would be better if the ability was just “exert to pay one less ink” that way you’re not actively adding and taking away cards in the inkwell since the rules state you can’t touch/look at the card once they’re in your inkwell just for consistency since people are already complaining about cheating with those who confuse their hand with their inkwell it just negates the confusion of what if they’re cheating by taking back a different card then one added for that turn

      Agreed, I've been putting my hand to the right of my discard which is to the right of my deck as I've almost 😊mixed them up purely by accident

      I see your point, but the ink added by Flik wouldn't be a tangible game piece. It would act like floating mana in Magic, where both players can keep track of it as they please. Either way I think it works fine

    You got your wish with what you called "Worlds". In Set 3, we are getting locations, that comes out next week. (Feb 23, 2024).

    Love the video! I think all of these mechanics make sense and I'm sure we'll see them implemented over time
    I'm a big fan of anything that might make items more useful

      Oooh I love this idea, I just don't see a way to make it work with the inkwell already facedown. Could have a zone for it possibly

      @@johntcgs i think scott is thinking something like an instant card in Magic or a handtrap in yugioh, a card that can activate from your hand in your opponent turn as a response to something

      @@lokiagaca8807that would be interesting alrough i wonder how long would the game would be if you could do that. Thats a lot of time when your opponent thinks durring your turn
