Someone has been triggered. But seriously, as she stated, "it's 2015" and people like her are worrying about the gender equality of plastic toys. What has this world come to?
I'm going to guess you weren't bombarded with messages growing up that said "you can't go into that career, it's for boys!" or "that wouldn't be very lady-like" or "why don't you pick a career that let's you have more time at home with your babies?" I would have killed to have toys that were gender neutral. Young boys and girls are scolded for playing with the "wrong" toys, even if they don't like the "correct" gendered toys.
Oh my gosh, I live in NZ and I can't stand her. She's this wannabe celebrity who would love us to be locked down forever. As well as the fact she give serious SJW, ultra feminism vibes. Shes the whole package.
for a "morbidly obese" value of "overweight". At least she won't be giving our all-too-commonly wildly-overweight young women body dysmorphia to go with their gender issues.
The woman in this video is completely correct in her speech. It may seem miniscule in the sight of adults what face is on the Lego, but in the mind of a child it creates a subconscious thought that women can be one thing and men are to be another. People it is 2015 children do not need to have this old way of thinking that just because of your sex you should be one way.
Joshua Jerrick why doesn't Barbie Monster High Trolls my little Pony power Puff girls market to boys. and don't girls left on their own choice tire of lego,s faster then boys?
Besides "be the change you want to see" (which in itself is funny seeing how outwardly gendered every critic is of the popular Lego Friends series), making it so that a head has two genders instead of two expressions is not only pointless (minifigs have swappable everything - just swap a male head for a female head), but worse than just having two expressions (good luck finding a specific female or male face in a sea of heads that aren't easily grouped into specific themes). Ultimately though whatever arguable damage Lego's Friends line is doing to gender stereotypes, there has never been a single Lego toy line that's been more popular with girls. If the rest of society (we live in one) has cemented gender roles, then at least out of any other toy that Lego is teaching girls can also build things - even if what draws girls into Lego Friends to begin with is the pastel pink colours and stereotypical gender roles. Lego isn't about to end gender stereotypes by just having more female characters and less action-oriented sets for boys - much less having two different gendered faces printed onto the same head. Pretending that society (we live in one) will change for the better because Lego returns to gender neutral advertisement - instead of just causing Lego to go bankrupt altogether (which also means no more Lego Friends for girls to learn to build as an incidental activity) - is a naive and short-sighted belief. Regardless, as an enby, I appreciate Lego Friends for the rare and pretty colours it brings to the line.
I am agree that Lego should wipe out gender stereotypes but if the minifigs have two sided heads bald minifigs and minifigs with hats will look quite weird
Here is a quote that I hope inspires people to be who they truly want to be: Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it. ~Bruce Lee
What are 'feminine characteristics'? Is a minifigure a girl only if it has long hair and a skirt drawn on it? It's unavoidable that Lego will respond (and has responded) to demand and sales figures, and release products based on market research rather than take a hit in the name of positive reinforcement.
She is a Govt shill.

@Mastema I was born in the 90's and was told these things, as were my friends growing up.

She’s overweight with pink hair. If I was listening to this on the radio I could of guessed that. Gender politics are things she would complain about.

Do leggo parts still click together with the male bit clicking into the female bit
Yeah surely that's problematic, having a male and female connector

And how exactly should the female face differ from the male one? Lipstick? You have to help Lego a bit more, they might mess up again...
