Bek David Campbell's music has helped me through these past 2 years. I was thinking a lot about suicide, but his music inspired me to break away from that mindset. I've been listening to him since 2015. I love his old pieces and his new ones. I think it's fair to say that his music resonates with people who have mental health issues. I'm almost 21 now and i am pursuing a career in music. Deadweight, The New pollution, Where is it all, and Gamma ray are 4 of his songs that i identify with the most. I have asperger's syndrome and i sometimes tend to fixate on certain sounds and patterns, and his music is full of perfect melodies, tempo's, rhythms, and beats including the lyrics that stick with you.
Beck, I saw you in Jan 1994, when Loser was the only song you had released. My friends said why would you go see that guy, but I saw your potential. Seattle, at the DV8. maybe you remember that show. I told you to smash your keyboard, glad you didn't!
Aw man, to start with Guess I'm Doing Fine just sent me into a mix of emotional ecstasy and cathartic pain. All love for that surge of feelings. What a treasure he is...
I swear to all of existence. I wish every artist would do this. All the pre mellow gold best songs were because of the artists vision of what's right and true. Beck you are a true legend role model. One of the best
Sublime. What a killer setlist. I have so many friends who just are still clueless about him, or they think of him as the kid who did "Loser" and that they got annoyed by it 'back in the day' so they just dismiss him.

I was right behind this cameraman at this show. The British guy kept yelling “play lost cause” half the show. Also he played with Smokey the year before at the Newport folk festival.
You must've been right in front of me. What a great show! Such a thrill to be able to take my 21 year-old daughter to see one of my all-time favorite artists.
Wow, and what a great show to take her to! It was my best friend's first time seeing him live - of course he didn't disappoint, never does. This was such a special show amid a global pandemic, with everyone starved for live music and human connection. Beck said he needed it more than anyone...I tagged him afterwards with a clip of the end of the 'True Love Will Find You in the End' encore saying we all needed that, and he shared it :)
A set to die for. I really hope for a Mellow Gold anniversary tour in 2024, where he will play the album in full. He did the most awesome version of Whiskeyclone Hotel City 1997, at Roskilde 2001.
Thank you for whoever taped this. Beck continues to be a force of nature. So nice to see an artist, so ably, perform a retrospective of his catalog. This is a real treat!
Thank you so much for shooting and sharing this! I was at the show, but it was so packed that I was stuck in the outer areas and couldn't see the stage! I'm so grateful to re-watch this magical night!
dang... "it's a new-age let-down in my face" is one of my favorite lyrics of all time... and so apropos for these scramblebrained times... how could he forget that?
I grew up with a lot of musical influences. Older siblings so 70s rock and pop. Folk music and country from my parents. Was a 80s metal head but also discovered the Delta Blues, Zydeco, older bluegrass and classical. I listen to all of it still (ok, not so much country lol). The other day I brought up Beck's The Information and remember what a great album that was. A track for track album....all good! I think Beck has a certain musical genius. In a sense, after he got popular he made me think of Peter Gabriel of all people. Strange reference... right? But, Gabriel was one of these first artists to do the digital sampling. Maybe not the first...ok. but, they both are more like modern composers than rock or pop artists. They both have these interesting and often perfectly places...whatevers... A tear drop cymbal or a horn outta nowhere. They make me wonder if like artist that paints modern art..when or if they ever decide the song is actually done. The best gift Beck has is all of his influences come out in his work. Makes it much more rich and well rounded. He makes great music.
In the first years of the internet aroun 1997 someone had created a txt file with all these songs (the old ones) with chords to play on guitar and I would pass entire evenings going through them. Love to see them finally being played live by him!
Beautiful set. Golden Age is such a great song for a road trip... then of course Nobody’s Fault is in my top 4 Beck songs, I love when he plays it live
It's a shame there's no studio recording released of his I am the Cosmos cover. The only thing he did release was a basic video recording of a guitar-only cover. That added harmonica in this arrangement is golden.
@@AMohican BTW, if you put a "00:00 Intro" (or any 00:00 named txt) above all other timestamps UA-cam will section off the seek-bar/create chapters. Just needs a 0 track time and the rest need to be in sequential order. Thanks again!
The forgetting the lyrics is getting old. I wish he'd try a bit, oh well. But I mean he forgot them on 9/28, you'd think he'd check them over 37:12 lol
He was actually responding to audience requests on the fly for some songs not fully performed for many, many years though. And he's gotta have some of the most complex lyrics out there...not to mention that once you mess up a line or two in performance (as with Golden Age) it's hard to rewire the neural nets ;)
@@johnnytimestamp8224 yea but I didn't notice any unintentional lyrical slipups with Cyanide Breathmint despite a missed chord, and although he said he forgot some of the final lyrics for Nitemare Hippy Girl he nailed all my favorite lines while dropping some 'meh' ones - whether intentional or not I actually like this version better. I marvel at the way he can pull off playing guitar, pedals, harmonica, Korg, sing (and remember complex lyrics!), and lead bandmates and techs all at once. you are LEGIT! ty for documenting and sharing💚💚💚
You have to give it to Beck. His music has certainly evolved over the years but at the same time, it doesn’t suck. **coughs cold play**
Thank you for this. Such a terrific setlist, playing nearly all my favourites.
Great! Greetings from Beck fans in Opole, Poland.
such a good angle to see the chords and arrangements

there is a something , a chord he is playing on the guitar in Nobody's Fault .. it sounds like the Doors song ... this is the end
