I bought new 35/1.4gm for astro to have something between 20/1.8g and Sigma 135/1.8 which both work well enough for astro on a7r5, but my copy was weak. Even at f/2.8 it was still weak. I could see some field curvature near left side, but shapes of stars were different in all four corners. But it was fine for portraits at f/1.4 where borders are out of focus. It was fine for landscapes when stopped down to about f/4 or f/5.6. So I returned it. I recommend to buy lenses for astro with good return policy. I have got instead 50/1.2gm and that one is fine at about f/2.
Man now I gotta know how the Sigma f1.2 performs! I will say that the weight of sony vs the bigma lenses is definitely a factor for me on hikes/camping trips.
Thanks for all the reviews, awesome work 🙏🏼
