Sir I don’t know who you are or your age or what you did or didn’t do. It’s not for me to know and I’m not the judge. That happens when you leave and meet the greater good. My father is 84 and has a matter of weeks if maybe God willing months left. He’s dealing with PLS over 30 years which is unbelievable even to the medical field and now recently had a stroke. He’s bedridden. He’s a stubborn SOB and can barely talk. He’s a marine. His entire life. He follows and always had followed black and white. Right around. Problem, solution. Hurry up and wait. I’m 50, I respect the service people as I grew up in that society but I never served like 12 of my family members and 15 of my brother and friends have in the service. I apologize for my not serving. My father is polite and he says don’t ever apologize, just do it right the first time. My respect to you and all of those beautiful people men and women they have given their lives and their service to our country into the world. We’re not just one people of one nation, we’re all together in us on the same planet. My father, who I struggled with growing up with three sisters and very strict family but not violent or abusive, he is the best man I’ve ever met in my life. He’s taught me so many incredible lessons on how to live and how to treat people which is more important than myself. Others come first. God bless you and God bless United States Marines and the service companies in all branch services around the US. God bless and thank you to all of you. I went in the Marine Corps Feb, 1989 fresh out of college I am 55 years old this month and I still carry everything that I have learned throughout my military time and it has guided me through my life, to operate with integrity, honor and discipline! I have accomplished a great deal coming from where I grew up and people thinking, oh he is gonna be dead or in jail because he is always doing something or they perceived that I was always doing something! A natural athlete in all sports, a young man with 5 brothers so you know I’m gonna be rough around the edges. The Marine Corps challenged me and refined that diamond in the rough, my pops before he passed understood this guy here my last one!!! He’s that dude and I never have to worry about him because he’s hella determined and has a never die will that most folks will never understand! Praise goes to my family, and to the Marine Corps!! The statement is true, if you complete the journey you will be changed forever!!!! Salute to all the hard charging Marines that run into battle so others can walk in freedom! 💯💯🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫

Sorry, I’m sorry I don’t mean to inundate you with BS but I got a Telya, i’ve never seen another person step in and back up a man that he never met before in a fight in public at a festival with families around. He knew the man was a marine, he was getting pushed around and never fight back. That’s what he was taught. This one man who is a Marine as well and in uniform showed up and all of a sudden 12 other Marines showed up within seconds to take care of the situation without violence and subdued the three aggressors on this one marine who was for some reason sold out. It’s incredible to watch how people who don’t even know each other follow a code of ethics and family responsibility in the Marines. There’s nothing like it in the world, nothing! Start training and memorizing now. The more you know when you get there, the less you'll have to worry about and the more focus you can put to the stuff you don't know, and can only learn in the Corps. In boot camp, almost 50% is physical training -- PFT.

Everyone wants that until they get it. It’s almost impossible to get to scout school. Get a really good asvab be in great shape and when your in combat school volunteer for marsoc. That’s the easiest way to get to scout school

Here are a couple of corrections to the content published, with good intention, by Tucker McConnell. I must kindly comment that the ONLY CORRECT and OFFICIAL title is "The Marines' Hymn." Also, I respectfully, but strongly, object to this musical "version" which, with good intention, virtually abandons the CORRECT and CHERISHED melody of the hymn.
