I am not qualified to judge the technical merits of this performance, but I was impressed with its cheerfulness, compared to other versions I heard. I know it has always been one of Beethoven's most light-hearted pieces, but somehow often gets a pathos and its joviality is brought down, or so I feel.
music is the expression of a inner universe, one can express a lot in a few notes, it has no meaning to mention difficulty, technicity or complexity into arts in general ; I fall into the universe of beethoven trough sergey , and it was wonderful, that is what matters the most.
Allegro vivace is about 130-140. He's playing this about 170-180. All modern concert pianists do this. Beethoven didn't actually leave a tempo marking on the autograph (in fact, in was left partially unfinished). But allegro vivace is what the first publisher, in 1828, used and that's been the norm ever since. It's showy to speed through it, but I prefer the indicated tempo.
I totally agree with your statement. It is very impressive how superb of a pianist this fellow is, but it sounds like you are listening to this masterpiece on fast forward.
I could play it slower I think, I practiced 5 hours yesterday I like practicing so that's useful, I just have to draw attention to my own work by being virtuoso. I used to practice 8 hours a day for a while
I think comparing interpretations isn’t a good idea every interpretation is different and that’s what keeps everyone want to listen to different people or it would be too much repetitive we are blessed that we don’t have recs of pieces back then lol
The melody is actually not that difficult but to play with this much speed and clarity is quite impressive. Amazing performance
Those g minor broken chord runs are the worst and when left hand becomes sixteenth notes, I forget what it's called, that's the tricky parts.
@@bakuto.1055 arpeggios i think
The alberti bass pattern in the middle section is hard
The left hand killed me while practicing it, still in the process of better left hand sounds tho…wish me luck
This is the best version I've heard of this piece by far.
Surely evgenny kissin version is the best but this is very good too

Go watch the kopikostar version, it's crazy. Because it's a violin cover.
@@Musicbaskar007 if we ignore dynamics then this is better
@@setricesimus kissin focuses a lot on dynamics making him superior in that aspect, but otherwise this is actually better imo

I absolutely aggree with that even though i am not expert at all too
Maybe they try to focus on the "rage" part.
Or maybe it's the (sigh) Fazioli!!!!
It is not called happiness over a lost penny😂
Because people play it too slow. This tempo is about right.
I bet it feels really weird when this guy shakes your hand
Have a nickel in your palm and see his reaction!
Great bass. Beethoven was a visionary. What a beautiful and powerful composition
Those quiet, fast LH chords. Super! Played on an expensive suberb Fazioli.
@Wyatt Gameplays Explain!

Bravo!👏👏👏👏
Marvelous! I've always loved this piece and its nickname!
Excellent performance! Good job!
no applause in the end? I felt the need to clap loudly watching this at 11pm at night at home.

Absolutely Brilliant 💜
I can’t fathom the speed & maintaining accuracy.
lots and lots of practice.

Imagine if Beethoven lost a dollar 😬
A penny back in 1700 might be equivalent to quite a few dollars today I presume 😂
Great
super!
Very very good!!!
Superb performance.
I disn't know Belyasky .....amazing! Bravo!!!!Long life Russia!!

this dude looks familiar
did i see him on tv somewhere?
Technically very good but to my ears, lacks the subtlety of Sokolov's rendition...but I'm sure that will come with time
Huh
