holy shit! Zack I love you and your music
W Zack
I absolutely love Zack’s music (my fav is Intruder Suite)
Swat 4 ost is basically you saving the day as a police officer, meanwhile RoN ost is just you preventing an already horrible situation from getting worse.
Didn't expect to see a blue archive player in here
Swat 4 is when you are excited to join the team, RoN is you after 10 years of service.
new RON updates can view teammates service time, adds another layer of sadness.
It seems like that, each call is just another situation out of control leading you into a darker level of hell thats been slowing eroding the city over years.
@maboilaurence8227 Shut up and go get a job anyways.
@@AlaiasAliasYour mother
@@vexzarkov7791Nobody cares and go get a job already.
I like them both
Both, both is good
Both are just good
Why not both?
You can tell the difference between both soundtracks pretty clearly
RoN is set in a city that has lost itself, The desperate few and brave try to save what little hope is left in face of overwhelming odds. Even as they struggle the city continues to spiral downwards
Meanwhile in SWAT4 "YOU COME INTO MY CITY, KILL MY CIVS AND HAVE THE GULL TO CALL ME PIG?!"
one thing they do have similar is an extremely serious level suddenly having a fucking horror game level of music
what a horrible reading
@@51Boiler73comment is good read me like to read me love read
They could also be described as neo-noir and action-thriller, respectively.
Someone's been playing Trepang2 by that quote.
Ready or not has a vibe of complete and utter hopelessness. It takes place in a city during a severe economic depression. People have gotten desperate and crime is completely out of control. And there you are. A commander of a small swat element in an underfunded police department. Sent in to situations, knowing damn well that you will likely be taking few suspects alive because most are willing to die if it means their families eat that night.
Swat4 gives off the vibe of uncertainty and the need to establish control. It takes place in a city in New England. In many of the situations, the police have arrived and set up a perimeter and have been negotiating long before you and your team arrive. The suspects can get pretty crazy and unpredictable but nothing pepperball CS gas can’t help. The members of your team will crack jokes and make comments during situations to ease the tension. It makes it all the more shocking when you do come across something fucked up like Fairfax and terrone tenement.
The Fairfax mission is the first thing I tell people who says that swat 4 isn't dark enough.
Team members do make comments and crack wise during missions in RoN. In "23 Megabytes a Second," one of the members will jokingly challenge another one to a 1v1 in whatever game is installed on the streamers' PCs. In "Thank You, Come Again," one of the members will reminisce about going to diners with his dad.
@@CrizzyEyes Those never appeared to me, at least in Commander Mode
@@CrizzyEyes RoN teammates are cracking jokes, but they are usually grim. I remember some of them saying "Do you like asbestos?" in dilapidated house in Twisted Nerve.
The voice acting in the scene where you discover Whats In The Basement at the cult tenemant in SWAT 4 is so fucking good too, even TOC sounded disturbed by what he was hearing.
The transition from Gas Station to Research Center was smooth asf.
no it wasnt?? what are you smoking?
@@CRT_YT It's really not lol I think they're just trying to flex their knowledge by mentioning the tracks by name.
"gas station" has always been called Dealership.
that third RoN track with the violins is so killer. It's perfect for the game. It's super tense and brooding but also urgent in a way that I haven't heard in an OST before.
"I'm going to save this city" vs "Not on my watch bozo"
“I’m going to save this city” vs “there isn’t much anything left worth saving”
@@ethanmcfarland8240yeah valley of the dolls and brixley talent time left me with little choice...
Swat 4s combat tracks convey chaos, but ready or nots convey the violence of a firefight
RoN : I will save this city
SWAT 4 : I WILL PAINT THE ROAD WITH YOUR BLOOD
The music in swat does a good job making you feel like the raid is in progress but with ron it sounds like "yep we are going to have paperwork now or very soon."
SWAT 4 has that more upbeat feel, the thrill of breaching door and taking down suspects where as RoN’s has a more serious, ‘Breach/Clear straight to business, no preservation of life, and Exfil’ vibe to it
SWAT 4 universe: being a swat team felt awesome!
RoN universe: no thanks
Swat 4 and RON have different but very pleasant atmospheres
I love the neo-noir feel of RoN
Especially sins of the father mission. Felt like gotham city crime scene
both?
both.
BOTH
Both is good.
LOL that is so true, i love them both they capture different parts of the same atmosphere, both artists were/are amazing
Both are good.
really reminds me of the jump between payday: the heist and payday 2's soundtracks and i love it
In RoN you're a special task force unit sent in to do the impossible. In SWAT 4 you're a death squad commando 😈
Swat is more upbeat sounding, like the raid is going well, taking suspects alive and no officers are getting hurt.
Ready or not is more dark and gritty sounding like you just watched the first man in the stack fall with a hole in his chest and the suspect responsible is now rolling on the floor choking on his blood after getting his lungs filled with 7.62x51 and now have to tell Toc that one is not coming home so they can inform the family.
Swat 4 has the stench of 90s optimism. Full on Good Cops vs bad crooks
RoN is fully cynical, uncaring, methodical, there’s no heroes in RoN, your not a good guy, your bringing order to chaos, stuck in the rotting carcass of a once great American City, a testament to the failure of the American Dream in the 21st century.
it’s a losing battle and you know it….
the question is *Are you Ready or Not?*
SWAT 3: Hold my beer and behold my orthodox chorus!
both both is good
I can agree. both is good.
Im surprised you didn't add Twisted Nerve. Gotta be my favorite track in RoN.
oh yeah, that's my bad
ironically both of them using the Amen break, dating back to the 60s
Both are great. i love both of them.
По звучанию очень похожи в принципе.
Музыка подобрана аутентично, мне нравится музыка в РОН в первой миссии в спокойное время.
Head down ducking for cover in an office cubical in Swat4 and you hear one these bangers come on. Certainly one of the things I fondly remember Swat4 for. Enjoying RoN too, their soundtrack is great too.
SWAT 4: Heelll yeeahhh we stopped the badguys we are so cool'n stuff
RoN:
Cop1: So how many were killed?
Cop2: 6 teaches 15 students and then himself when we showed up
Cop1:...
Cop2:...i just ca-
Cop1: yeah...
Cop1: call me later dude y'know...
Cop2: yeah dont worry dude
Omg! Check out that entire LP & 8 track collection! 👍😁
I think they are equally as good in completely different ways.
They killed it on the RoN osts
Pros:
OST
Gameplay
Environmental storytelling
Cons:
THE BASEMENT
You will see on your screen the best and worst depictions of moundain evil mankind is capable of, how it probably looks in real life.
Which game I am talking about? Both!
(I'm sorry, I was born in 1995 so, RoN is just my vibe, SWAT people, love, respect and all the feels.)
So to summarize
In Ready Or Not. You’re really just trying to stop one of the many horrible situations from becoming even worse
In swat 4 you’re just stopping one very bad isolated situation from spiraling out of control (not saying like there isn’t horrid stuff in Swat 4)
i used to play swat 4 on my janky laptop
i still play it on my janky laptop
i still play swat 4 on my janky PC
Needs more Swat 3 ost.
Omg I already liked this video! Thanks for the positive comments on my vid dude, this was a silly vid too. lol
lol thanks, and no problem
I tried to play in RoN, but my brain didn't understand how to play in RoN XD. I still play SWAT 4 to this day, I'm too old)
goes hard
Swat 4 is just better, untouchable
SWAT 4 is when you are the pointman, Ready or Not is when the pointman is KIA.
I miss the percussion heavy themes of old videogame OSTs
I’d be nice if I CAN HEAR THE DAMN MUSIC in RoN most of the time it don’t even activate when I’m in a gunfight
Should’ve put the arcade music in there dude, that one’s my favorite
Where tha fuq is A bomb club?
Too bad there isn't the SWAT 4 restaurant theme, it would have changed the game.
Good one hahaha
holy shit, infarlock!
Where A-bomb?
I think the coffin meme could go here too....
SWAT 3 OST vs SWAT 4 OST next?
wait they used the amen break?
yeah lol. but unfortunately the hotel map got removed entirely. so no more amen break 😞
what whyd they remove it@@-unusual-
@@charliegunki guess the devs just didn't find it fitting in the modern storyline. and it got replaced by sins of the father, the other hotel map
Played Swat 4 (bluedrake edition) how does RON measure up? Do I need to play coop?
I never played swat 4 so idk how they stack up. RON just had a 1.0 update with a large overhaul to the squad's brains that improves them im various ways, 2 biggest i can think of being getting out of your way in terms of movement and aim while also automatically moving to secure hostages, downed suspects and their weapons when it is safe to do so.
There is some form of campaign they released with the update you can play solo.
Each individual map can be played multiplayer if you have a crew, idk the max members but launching a private game solo sends you in with no backup
RoN is a little bit less polished narratively, but there is still good stuff to look for. It has awesome environmental storytelling just like SWAT 4, but it feels a bit more sterile between missions since there's a bunch of cops just silently staring at you or doing nothing in the station. There are still voiced briefings and 9-1-1 calls, though, which can be quite harrowing (especially the school shooting one). It's generally a lot more serious and less camp than SWAT 4 and doesn't shy away from disturbing material.
The squad AI is definitely serviceable in RoN. I wouldn't say you need to play co-op, but it still benefits from it.
It’s extremely hard compared to swat 4. You will die by just peeking cornere. AI have John wick accuracy and reflexes
@@kevinc.cucumber3697WHAT? Damn even swat4 felt nearly impossible to me and i stopped playing it after casino mission
@@niggacockball7995 swat 4 is extremely easy for me now. You get a lot of reaction time from bad guys, as long as you know how to use tactics you are set. In Ready or not, you could do the right thing all the time and still get smoked. AI enemies are super accurate and have crackhead reaction time
I much rather prefer swat 4 soundtrack the best one on ready or not plays during "the spider" mission
I wish RON would stop being compared to Swat4...
it was a good game for it's time but there's room to innovate. last time I played the AI in RON was still both stupid, and robotic
RON is a spiritual successor to SWAT4, the Devs even said as such.
The two will and always be compared.
Kastrenzo when an early access game isn't as polished as a game from 2004 that had all the time needed for fixes and DLC Content
yeah I get where your coming from. and devs said the swat ai will actually think for themselves next update
Bro ROE is Swat 4 wanna be, and devs aknowledge that.
SWAT4 team AI is also dumb at times but at least you have much more leverage with the commands.
God why doesn’t steam sell swat 4 oh well I got ready or not but both would be better
swat 4 is on gog if youre interested
Hehe
SWAT 4 God
swat 4 is better because its like the 90s its iconic nothing is iconic like that anymore these days
That’s the most Boomer meat sucking take I’ve ever heard
Go dynamic
RoN has music? I turned that off lol
yeah, some of the tracks are such bangers
big mistake, punishment inbound
door-ram-CS gas
lol
"Wait ready or not has musi- Oh right I turned that off cause it's WAY TOO PRESENT UNLIKE SWAT 4
average neko arc pfp 😒
What I said is valid and you know it, RoN music is not background music unless you turn it down to like 5%
@@Skippy__ Not really? RoN music is pretty laid back from what I've heard of it
@@CrizzyEyes depends what build your on, when I installed the music was like actually loud enough to mute enemy footsteps, doors, reloads
Can't that be fixed by changing the music volume
