The fall of Constantinople is the most important event in history. It’s sad that most people don’t know what was lost.

What was it that you believe was 'lost' when Constantinople fell?

Byzantine had some laws that modern westerners should consider to save themselves from those who hate them.

I took a tour of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus, OH. Absolutely gorgeous and incredible learning of the symbolic aspects of its art and architecture.

Really enjoyed how the symbolism was brought in context with history and etymology. So satisfying to bring it all together!

Amazing. The outer and inner layers... it's also like an acorn, or a castle, or a solar system, or literally ANYTHING spherical with layers. So profound.

The camera work is really awkward and unsettling. Jonathan's great as usual.

Great, all I would say is that 30 years ago touring churches, I would listen to tours like this, not really having a clue what all the spooky words mean.
Now, I am starting to get it.
I think it would help to have a glossary of terms, defined in plain language, for those outside the church.

Brother Jonathan Pageau, could you do some videos on Enlightenment philosophy? That was a major atheist movement during the 1600s and 1700s, which led to the French Revolution and American Revolution. Much of Enlightenment still impact the psyche of the people in the West today.

He has a video where he takes on enlightenment thinking. Can't remember what it's called. I think it has copernicus in the name of the video.

“The doors the doors, guard the doors”. St Maximus the confessor says that’s the moment we leave the sensible realm and transition to the intelligible realm

That reminds me of a funny event from my childhood; My parents were big music fans, so I grew up listening to classic rock. So sometime when I was a toddler, my grandmother took me to church for the first time. Midway through the service, I must've heard an organ being played or something, and I yelled out "Come on baby light my fire!" Needless to say, my grandmother was mortified.
