I think this video is great. Too many of us see 5-6 catches within 5 mins from a youtuber and then get discouraged when we can't do that irl. This is the reality of fishing. Uncut. It takes patience and time.

I like this "train of thought" uncut format. This would be an excellent series. It's cool to see the process. I think aloud a lot too. A lot of my fishing adventures look a lot like this, where it's a skunkfest at first, then I usually throw an ultra light and go for pan fish so I can at least get something.

    • @chipseiler1766
      @chipseiler1766 Рік тому +2

believe it or not, this is the type of videos i've been looking for. I know you gotta worry about algorithm and whatever get's the most views or whatever, but I want to watch someone and their process of how they catch a fish. That means the countless casts, the travelling to different angles of a pond or lake, etc. I get to see in detail how you fish a bait and your plan on how to approach a certain spot. Great Video do more of these if you can.

What is your favorite rod/reel pair up for distance (higher price and also a moderate price if you could please include that.) So here’s the formula
      1. Heavy aerodynamic lure (like think a one ounce lead weight)
      2. Looooong rod 7’3” to 7’6”
      3. Baitcasting reel with A LOT of line capacity, and fill Er up with 20 Lb or 30 Lb braid
You’ll be casting close to 100 yards 😂😂

This spot reminds me of gunners lake here in Germantown Maryland I just bought my rod and reel and I’ve been trying every kind of lure for gunners lake and nothing. Lures are limited cause of so much hydrilla I’ve only caught one bass there but supposedly it holds some Mondos

I noticed that fishing the same place teaches me a lot about what to use when. Like for example I fish a pond by my work alot and I basically always take a Texas rigged bandito bug but I noticed that on windy days it doesn’t work at all I know the fish are there they just aren’t interested so I’ve learned to break out a spinner bait if it’s windy and not throw the Texas rig as much and so on and then I just take that knowledge to other bodies of water

What is the best size spinning rod for bass fishing and the best height rod ? And I loved this type of video!

If you like lighter rigs, 6’9” medium/fast, if you throw heavier baits on ur spinning gear go with a 7’0” MH/fast

I’m my humble opinion, uncut fishing vids are much better than cut fishing vids. You don’t have to pay complete attention to the video, so you can play it while doing something else. Please do more

Great video, had to fast forward through a lot but this is the reality of fishing…I guess we only see fishing videos when cast after cast people are reeling them in…which isn’t the reality…I’m relatively a beginner catching bass and pike but I typically find myself averaging a fish every hour now Which is significantly better than a 2 and 3 years ago.
Thanks for showing the reality of fishing even coming from a great fisherman like yourself!!!

hello, jeffrey rayborn here from wausau , wisconsin. can i ask what back pack your using? i need to find a way to pair down my gear. LOL its hell having to haul 5 or more tackle boxes of baits. i can drop one tackle box by not going for pike and musky, but my cranks, worms(plastics) and tackle for them mean a minimum of 2 to 3 tackle boxes.
then other things like leaders, and prerigged stuff plus tools is the rest of my useable tackle .
if i forget big fish and panfish then i'm down to 4 maybe 5 tackleboxes,(ROFL) always takes me 2 or more trips to get my gear to the shore of the river or lake or pond when i decide to stay in a spot.
i sometimes use my canoe(15' green coleman canoe) but if theres wind - no way.
and even the small bass pond i used to fish is a lot of paddling if there is any wind. that pond is maybe 1/4 mile long and half as wide. maybe 30 ft in the center and weeds everywhere, lily pads can be extensive and thick late in the year. and it is in a swamp so bogs ring the whole of the lake. meaning every cast needs to be at the edge of the water. because the bass hide under the bogs. supposedly the panfish in the pond/lake is good, but i have never been able to find them, except with flyrod and panfish poppers one year.but it was a fight getting decent fish because most were 5 inch or less bluegills that day. fun, but not big enough for me to consider cleaning the allowed 25 fish(bluegills)
would love to see you do a video of what all you have in that backpack, and give me an idea of how to scale down my gear when fishing.
    LOL
i end up having 5 or more rods every time i go fishing. and terminal tackle to cover everything from panfish to walleyes, with one or 2 baits for pike.
i usually have 3 medium rods, 1 light or ultralight, and 1 medium/hvy to hvy rod.
if i go to my favorite place (river) i have the 3 mediums set up for tri swivel rigged baitfishing with floating jigheads. (less snaggs) and that place usually means minnows and crawlers.
meaning a bait pail is added to the things i have to carry.
    sorry this got so long.
basically how do i pair down gear to make it manageable to carry like you.
    love your vids!

I’m using my old school backpack (high Sierra swerve backpack). Organization is definitely the most important thing before hitting the water!! Try scaling down and keeping your backpack weight to 20 lbs or less, especially if you have to hike around a lot! Best of luck this season my friend 🎣👊
