1st time on YT- Oral surgery on an ‘ahi🤙😎😂
The best times of my young fella days and young adulthood was spent sitting on top the bridge of pop’s Haole Sampan watching the ocean.
Not just looking for bird piles/FADS/rubbish, but watching how the water moves, figuring out where (and when)currents come together, stuff like that. A lot of it is really subtle, almost can’t see it. Being able to read those quiet cues helped me become a much better fisherman. A thinking fisherman.
That’s why I’m stoked I found your channel. I was really impressed with how calm you and braddah were with the Black marlin. That’s how it has to be. 😢Stay focused, make logical, decisions, and, as much as possible, minimize ego and emotion…. Until the fish hits the ice box, then go nuts if you like!😊🙃 Black’s are tough as nails. “Meaner,” More endurance and power than blues (IMO) Especially the 200-400 range)
Just wanted to complement you and yours guys “system,” how you guys work together without even talking, both you guys handled the whole fight perfectly. Especially knowing to let him run after seeing how green he was (esp with 2 gaffs in him!). You guys killed it, good flow. Much respect braddahs!🤙🤙🤙

Very informative lure action tutorial, I learned a lot. Subscribed. I have a question regarding the cabin layout in your boat. I have seen the same style in other Hawaiian fishing videos. The relationship between the captains seat and the wheel is different compared to any boat that I have been on. I am used to having the option of either standing or sitting when piloting a boat. Is there a reason or advantage to the high seating, low wheel relationship? One other observation is when a hook is stuck that well in a fish just shove your knife point in next to the hook shank and make a bigger hole. Mahalo

Thanks for the tip about the hook. As for the seat. I think most of the Hawaiian boats have a low wheel on the bridge to keep the weight at a lower point. That’s only a 24’ boat with a bridge we fish.
