Is this sander really great compared to Makita finisher Sander BO3710 ? For someone who wants to sand his furniture, doors, kitchen cabinets and Window Frames ? Kindly Suggest. Thanks for the great review. And how is the velcro pad holding up ?

Hi Johnny! Velcro is holding up great so far. I've never personally used the Makita finisher Sander BO3710 so, unfortunately, I don't have any personal experience with it. From what I do know about that model here are a few thoughts: 1). I think it would be nice to not have to buy sanding disks since you can just use regular sheets of sand paper by punching holes in them. 2). I like how it has the "palm" grip and the "pistol" style grip. For projects that you're doing a ton of sanding on that is a nice ergonomic feature - being able to switch when your wrists get tired. 3). The Makita is quieter at 72 dB(A) where the DeWalt is around 83-85 dB(A) I think.
If anyone else happens to be reading this comment and has personal experience using the Makita BO3710, please share your thoughts with us!

@@mikekrzesowiak7944 I bought this the next day I wrote the comment. I have been using it. Its really a great product. Its true that it is very silent, I previously bought Bosch GSS2300 finisher sander but that was way too loud and came in a damaged box so returned it and got this since I couldn't wait :P. There are no sparks when I pulled the trigger, it was very surprising to me as it is not a brushless motor and bosch had a spark initially whenever I pulled the trigger. It can still be used as a palm sander because its light weight and no vibration at all. All the reviews on amazon.com helped me take a decision and I can testify that they are true after using it for a few days now. Not to mention, your video review did help me for a lot for reasons on why this orbital sander doesn't suit my requirement and I was confused between this one and Makita, but this is the best selling ROS out there. Now coming to the vibration, you wont feel a thing and for a DIYer like me with small works, this is more than sufficient. No to mention, one need not spend money on sanding discs and sand papers and works to be cheaper for my kind of work. And rectangular shape of this is very useful as most of our furniture and windows have 45 - 90 degree angles. I really appreciate your reply and the video. Thanks again.

Awesome, glad to hear, it sounds like it’s working well for you. Also, hearing you describe it, it sounds like it might be a good fit for me on a couple of future projects I have planned...maybe I’ll end up picking up that model in the future 😊

@@thebestof2132 I am not about power at all in this case, mainly: ergonomics - work comfort and dust collection. DeWalt is slightly shorter, could be a bit easier to work with one hand for a longer period of time. Bosch in promotion today on amazon uk, £26 pounds to save :)

Just saw your video. I just bought the same sander, my first random orbital sander. very different compared to a orbital Sander. Is the counterweight supposed to make the sander wable?
    If so how much?
F.Y.I. this isn't Janice but her handyman/ plumber/ cook/ maintenance....well you get it husband asking.

That's a good question, I have noticed that is does wobble when I move it back and forth with my wrist if I do not have the sanding pad against any material - I think the counter weight is attempting to adjust to the movement.
