Thanks for your focus on Georgia. Although, for a Georgia voter, it's pretty depressing. I'm still furious that trump tried to invalidate my vote and REALLY frustrated that Fanni Willis's attempt to get us justice has faltered. I'm also still shivering at how close the Republican CLOWN Herschel Walker came to denying us a real senator in Raphael Warnock. That whole episode was too weird to believe, if I hadn't seen it for myself. I am proud of Georgia growing up politically in some ways, but still scared to face the upcoming election. Could be a nightmare.
I am afraid it is going to be a nightmare if what we have seen in this episode is not countered by the Democrats somehow!

I remember times when Jimmy Carter, from Georgia, went to other countries in the world during their elections as an election observer to make sure their elections were free and fair. Looks like the Carter Center is still doing that.

Legally nothing, because our DOJ is more concerned about the appearance of bias, even though the law is on their side. Republican and democrats are held to different standards. Republicans can stream roll over democrats and the democrats must let them do it. Democrats have abandoned their own political objectives in speech of the long dead dodo bird Republican that would compromise. No self-respecting democrats would risk being labeled as not reaching across the isles, allowing the minority Republicans to still rule as the minority.

Of course the Georgia secretary of state won overwhelming re-election. He has been seen as a honorable man by people across the political spectrum, not just in his own state, but nation wide. This is the reason why the AfD is under surveillance of German Office for the Protection of the Constitution, in particular its youth organisation. But Germany has also high barriers for banning parties or political groups.
