The scene where Clare and Francis coming together may be almost as good as Mary and Elizabeth in the magnificent T.V. movie, Jesus of Nazareth, by Zeffirelli.
when i watched this movie 6 years ago 4 of us including my one brother had desired to follow st. francis through living the mountains to make our own house and chapel and also to sow corn and vegetables for us to survive, and to start to prearch to all who are dying their faith.but was in vain because of being an elder to help my parents and our financial needs.

I had a somewhat different introduction to this film, I was in my late twenties and I contracted Chicken Pox, I had a very bad bout of it and i was covered in spots,you couldn't put a pin between them, I remember being completely delirious and all of a sudden this film came on TV, because of my delirium it felt as if i was living the film, it was as if i was in the film myself. It was a completely way out experience i'll never forget. Oh, and that Judi Bowker was a complete stunner wasn't she.

The relationship between francis and claire is wrong, Claire never met Francis francis until until she heard him preaching. In about the year 1210 he would have been 20. She was only 16.. a wonderful movie, But this part they got wrong.

Don't worry. I am Francis. The movie brought me closer to my past. It was what was recommended to me. It worked. I am glad they did not show me being stoned to death or being locked up without food or drink by my dad. The movie was perfect. I think they did love each other and will meet again in this lifetime. But nothing happent then. And the movie was perfect. No defaming. I love the English version.
