HSN EBG other races don’t kill each other? Think a bit before you speak mate. I think you’re forgetting the World Wars across Europe where millions of people from the same race fought because of ideologies and killed millions of white people on either side. You’re forgetting how east London was full of gangs prior to the arrival of immigrants, when white working class people killed each other in the crime underworld e.g. the Krays and other thugs, all white. You’re forgetting how the Irish and the English were at war for years, both white, and killed hundreds and thousands on each side. Countless others to mention, you’re beyond ignorant. Don’t speak on black people as if we’re a violent anomaly.

Respect to all the Brothers that fought for our dignity. They had the courage to speak up when others kept silent. Because of them I am proud to say i am Tottenham born n raised.
I wasn’t from the Estate but i used sneak on their free youth go-karting trips. I also loved riding my bike through the long interconnecting corridors n walkways. Most of the facilities offered there would never had happened without the efforts n sacrifices of our Community Leaders. The Police were very arrogant and absolutely awful. They spared no-one from harassment. I was 11 and CID regularly made me cry. Physically gripping us up and even banging me n my friends against walls.
Then i just became immune to it, I used to wish i had been old enough to Riot.
This footage brought back alot of memories, some good some very traumatic.
    Thanks for Uploading👍🏾

I lived in Tottenham for a few years in the mid 80s, remember the riots well. But I also remember many good people from the area.
The nature of housing estates like Broadwater Farm is that they provide a roof over your head, but not a community or wider society to develop and thrive. Even with good community work and many good hearted people, the underlying causes of social inequality, lack of good employment prospects and failing education systems, ultimately take their toll on many of the people living there. Local authorities know this, governments know this, yet decade after decade of failed promises and policies have shown that very few people in authority really care about the very people they are elected to serve. Those who do care often get ridiculed by the main stream media or paid lip service by those in government who have the power to influence positive change but choose not to.

Big respect for uploading this video, not seen this in years, I remember watching this and recording it on VHS back in 88 as a 14 year old boy which I still have in my collection. It's amazing the trials and tribulations that us black people had to encounter back then and fast forward 30 odd years later and nothing's really changed, racism seems to be getting worse in today's society. Very true. It's like people think there is an inherent demon inside "white heads" that makes them dislike people of other races. It's not true in any way shape or form: every white person I know grew up with Asians and Blacks and didn't see them as different or treat them differently. In fact, I've been in more black households that mention "whites" more than I have white households that mention "blacks". In truth, I've never known any white households that go on about black people or how much they hate them.
Honesty, the transatlantic slave trade isn't too far away in the past. Black people know more about their own suffering more than whites know about their own hence why the white people of today are going all weird and apologising for the transatlantic slave trade: it's not our responsibility to apologise. Millions upon millions of white Christians along with other races were enslaved throughout the Barbary slave trade which didn't really end until the 18th century.
Also, to this day millions of people are enslaved and they're all in third world countries; the whole of mankind has suffered, we've got to suck it up, love who treats us well and steer clear of those who don't. You can't change the evils in humanity.
The media is also not doing a good job at reducing racial tension, in fact they're increasing it - telling lies that black people are being massacred by "white" police officers. They even mention the race of the officers in the news feeds on the radio etc. But when an Islamic terrorist stabs a woman in the back and goes for a bunch of other people they don't even mention the colour or race.
The media tells us stories as if to depict the world as going after black people when more white people are gunned down by police in the US than black people - including a father with his autistic son but yet that gets NO media coverage. The media want racial tension, they make money off of it.

Still the same today, but updated a bit.
2019 issue with the buildings, being on columns and if in the unlikely event of a gas explosion the blocks could collapse.
Originally the estate had a central boiler building which gave hot water to the whole estate. Over the years the boiler system was not good enough, so it was only used for part of the estate and the majority of the flats got their own gas boiler central heating.
So phase one was to firstly change all gas cookers to electric free of charge (Over 700 electric cookers were bought and exchanged for free).
Then put in fire safety systems with auto gas shut off systems linked to the electrics and gas.
Then a big project in renewing the main gas boiler hub and re-connect all the blocks and flats to the main one boiler system.
Also we put in cctv everywhere, ask for by the people living there. For safety of the workers and that some locals did not want the cctv, these workers would pack up work by 2pm, this was so they had left the area before the criminal gangs got out of bed and it worked hardly any major incidents.
