I remember grinding the Agera R on my summer vacation of 2014 or 2015 on my old ipad and owned almost all the cars. Then my progress was somewhat deleted after I updated it. I downloaded it again last year only to find out how pay to win it went. Career became completely useless and the game lost variety since the only good cars you could buy are the meta cars in MP races. I thought it couldn't get any worse until update 55 happened where all the car upgrades needed cards and fusion coins, making credits worthless. That is definitely the final nail to the coffin of the game in my opinion.
i started a8 in 2013 too this reminds me of the good old days still play it and now it is hard to keep up with the new cars being added every second but i m still come in the leaderboards of many events and multiplayer
I played from 2015-2019, and I remember when I found out about Sector 7 or 8, I would play it all the time thinking I had just found a secret map no one else knew about.
I went back to playing this in 2023 after not playing it for 8 years and I remember I quit on the fusion coins update and now that I see it, tokens r now UNOBTAINABLE through no microtransactions
Remember playing this as a kid. Literally was like 6-7 when I first decided that the Lotus Exige was my dream car. It still is and im not gonna go from this planet without having owned one ;)
i used to play asphalt 8 during 2015 era, the prices were already a bit high, but still enjoyable, and i was having a ton of fun, unluckily the greedy will of getting the player's money took over... and we got what we have nowadays, and that makes me a bit sad
Asphalt 8, how it stands today, reminds me of Farmville. It was so cool watching my parents play the game, but when I turned 13 and tried to play it myself, it was really disappointing to see the pure amount of bloat. I bet it's gotten a lot worse 6 years later
I remember playing this game back in 2018-2019 when the game wasn't the state that it's in now. You could still grind in the game and it was still bearable. It was the reason I really liked the Ferrari FXX and the DS Survolt. I completely lost interest in the game when my cloud save was completely erased after not playing it for a long time when I deleted the game because I needed space in my phone. I have tried Asphalt 9 Legends but the pay to win system was equally as bad as the last game in my opinion. It's amazing to see the game in this version because it really captured that Asphalt feel compared to what it has become now; a soulless cash grab. Keep up the great works on your content as always! I really love them!
I played this game through quarantine but one of these updates just made me just stop playing it because of how they changed the upgrading system and just completely removed the max upgrades and turned it into pro only which I'd argue is more costly than regular max pro upgrades
Even the starter car is way costing and my poor bmw m1 was the first car that i maxed out but Vivendi just slapped shity blueprints and gave only 10000 fusion coins
I started playing in 2017 on my iPhone 4s that I got for christmas... I remember when there were no fusion coins, the old garage, I saw motorcycles come to the game and I played the game every saturday morning... It was my favorite game at the time.
To me, when asphalt 8 had car Mastery is when the game peaked, there was new content and incentives to go back to my other cars. And it also helps me feel personally attached to the car building them to max and then pro. it was really fun for me. Also, I swore blue tokens were always in the game, wow.
I was there in the 2013 days with you Eden, but it's no surprise that A8 in particular became riddled with microtransactions, since the devs were situated in Ukraine they need the money to support themselves and their families, that's why it was so broken
i remember grinding the hell out of a single race for no apparent reason (could've do more races because that gives more rewards) just to unlock the lamborghini veneno. that thing was my childhood. i remember the car costs 32,000 credits to unlock. man, glad to see you bringing back nostalgia for us. and i also remember there was an asphalt 8-ish game developed for lower spec devices. i think its called asphalt nitro?
Omg thank you man. You just ignited a bomb of nostalgia by showing that Asphalt 5 into in the beginning. I literally grew up with that game. I remember it was playing it all day on the first iPod touch.

FUSION COIN??? I MEAN CMON MAN WTF IS THAT yeah Very sad Edit: thx for the tutorial to revert it back I shall do that sometime
I remember as a kid in 2014, seeing my uncle play this game on his phone, and i went nuts over it. a mobile racing game with such insane graphics?? no way was it true. but it was, and it was a shit ton of fun when i finally got my hands on it. as a kid, the veneno was and has been my favourite car, and buying it in asphalt 8 was my first experience driving it in a video game, and the amount of happiness i felt once i unlocked it was immeasurable. it makes me sad that gameloft is just another game dev studio that only wants to make money. asphalt could have been the best racing experience on mobile and pc, but instead they needed the money. cheers for making a vid like this tho, brings back so many fun memories.
Seeing this brought a smile to my face, I remember having the game on my shitty offbrand tablet my oarents got for me and I played the hell out of it, I had finally gotten the veneno and then my tablet broke and I lost that account forever. Then a while later I came back and the game wasnt as pay to win as it is now but it was getting there and it drove me to quit, and then now well, we all know the state of the game now, I will always hold this game in high regards in my memories.
When I was 4 yrs old in 2015, Me and my brother were ADDICTED to this game. It was just so fun and there was no fusion coins or any cars that were purely p2w. All cars back then were f2p. Now it's just a money laundering scheme.
I remember my first introduction to this game many years ago, my brother's friend brought his laptop over and we used to take turn playing, it was so good. Occasionally jumped on and off it after the years to check out the different updates, I vividly remember enjoying the hell out of the Fall Out Boy update, earning that BMW M2 Special Edition with little upgrades and without spending a dime was some of the most fun I had, plus the vibe mania album brought was dope.
I used to play racing rivals so much. It had online lobbys and you could even do pink slips with other players. I even asked for google play cards for Christmas and used them for the game. Then they shut down the servers and I lost it all😔
I used to play Asphalt nitro which is the same as Asphalt 8 but more optimized for weaker phones... And in that game the koenigsegg is the most expensive car and it worth 600k and the most you can get from a race is 3000 coins so I had to grind for 8 hours straight to get it
My first interaction with asphalt 8 was watching a classmate chesumare play it on his ipad back in 2013. He never let me play it on his machine, and it wasn't until 2015 that I was able to play it on my android tablet... what memories
I can't find the link on your description, I know it's been over a year, but Im also looking forward to re-experiencing the game without all the pay to win

Career became completely useless and the game lost variety since the only good cars you could buy are the meta cars in MP races. I thought it couldn't get any worse until update 55 happened where all the car upgrades needed cards and fusion coins, making credits worthless. That is definitely the final nail to the coffin of the game in my opinion.
i started a8 in 2013 too this reminds me of the good old days
still play it and now it is hard to keep up with the new cars being added every second
but i m still come in the leaderboards of many events and multiplayer
I played from 2015-2019, and I remember when I found out about Sector 7 or 8, I would play it all the time thinking I had just found a secret map no one else knew about.
I went back to playing this in 2023 after not playing it for 8 years and I remember I quit on the fusion coins update and now that I see it, tokens r now UNOBTAINABLE through no microtransactions
0:56 Just look, how beautiful the old garage was
Remember playing this as a kid. Literally was like 6-7 when I first decided that the Lotus Exige was my dream car. It still is and im not gonna go from this planet without having owned one ;)
You migh want try out the Apple Arcade version. In that version you unlock cars by earning stars and there's absolutely zero IAPs.
He talked about it in the VOD before I edited it down, I’m not sure if he has a way to play it.
I distinctly remember grinding for the FXX back in the day. The amount of times I ran that Alps track... holy balls man. Totally worth it though.
i used to play asphalt 8 during 2015 era, the prices were already a bit high, but still enjoyable, and i was having a ton of fun, unluckily the greedy will of getting the player's money took over... and we got what we have nowadays, and that makes me a bit sad
Dustin, I'd love to see a video about (also arguably the nest mobile racing game) Real Racing 3! Love the content my friend!
For me, the best Asphalt 8 years were 2014, 2016 and 2017.
Such good times...2017 especially
you didn't add a way to get the original version in the desc. unless you removed it for reason then rip i guess.
god damn it
anyway nice Agera you got there
@@x-o-vcreations6969 🙏thank you, for the longest time the one:1 was my fav car.

I started playing in 2017 on my iPhone 4s that I got for christmas... I remember when there were no fusion coins, the old garage, I saw motorcycles come to the game and I played the game every saturday morning... It was my favorite game at the time.
This... this brings back good memories with my old iphone 4s
Absolute Nostalgia... Good times
Vivendi (since 2016-2017) owns gameloft
Vivendi took the decision to make all gameloft's game P2W
@@yo-gaming4590 Ah,so that's the reason...
Oi,that's not true. The fast lane update began this
Uhh, they weren't. If you open "Contact with developer" it shows, that the company has its HQ in Paris, France
i remember grinding the hell out of a single race for no apparent reason (could've do more races because that gives more rewards) just to unlock the lamborghini veneno. that thing was my childhood. i remember the car costs 32,000 credits to unlock. man, glad to see you bringing back nostalgia for us. and i also remember there was an asphalt 8-ish game developed for lower spec devices. i think its called asphalt nitro?
Yeah it is asphalt nitro
Yes, the game is asphalt nitro.
@@AcerSense aight thanks. i remember playing that as well.
Yup. Asphalt nitro was my childhood
I recently saw an asphalt 2
Omg thank you man. You just ignited a bomb of nostalgia by showing that Asphalt 5 into in the beginning. I literally grew up with that game. I remember it was playing it all day on the first iPod touch.

I remember getting asphalt 8 on the family windows 10 PC back in 2016. I remember being amazed at how good the graphics were (I had just gone from playing NFS Hot pursuit 2 on windows 7)
Description no longer mentions the tutorial.
Once I get my new PC running I'm definitely gonna try this. This game used to SLAP dawg 😭 cars were hella expensive and online was busted with the superfast cars people were paying for by around 2017
Wait, how are you able to play the old version?
The multiplayer matchmaking change made me so mad, wasted my tokens on a Renault I remember and now it’s useless in multiplayer
I remember playing this in 2014, I really enjoyed it
Even just the atmosphere it had in the menu with the music and the garage
But yeah after like 2017 I stopped playing
And I recently reinstalled it and WAS DISGUSTED
EVERYTHING HAD CHANGED
FROM THE START MENU TO THE FUNNY MESSAGE DELETED WHEN YOU JUMPED INTO THE WATER (I discovered all of them cuz I loved just redoing an event with water just to jump in it lmao)
BUT BRO..
FUSION COIN???
I MEAN CMON MAN WTF IS THAT
yeah
Very sad
Edit: thx for the tutorial to revert it back I shall do that sometime
As a 13 year old 2014 a8 was a blast and i had an addiction and played in 24/7 no joke
I dont find the link of the download in the description, man :(
As someone who grew up with mobile gaming and Asphalt 2 as my first ever game, seeing the franchise fall down is sad
how did you downgrade the version?
They had something beautiful. Destroyed it for greed
Hey man,
You still got the download link for the og A8?
No
When I was 4 yrs old in 2015, Me and my brother were ADDICTED to this game.
Then they shut down the servers and I lost it all😔
where is the info in the description?
I quit in 2022 end because upgrade costs using fusion coins and creds became absurdly high. Since then ive moved to A9
15:30 My favorite part.😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
I used to play Asphalt nitro which is the same as Asphalt 8 but more optimized for weaker phones... And in that game the koenigsegg is the most expensive car and it worth 600k and the most you can get from a race is 3000 coins so I had to grind for 8 hours straight to get it
The game used to be so good… sad to see how Gameloft ruined it and basically threw its name into the mud
Actually blame Vivendi who forcefully bought Gameloft… they were the ones who fucked up the game
@@Fractured_Dawnyeah
I really would like to play those old Gameloft games, the ones like Splinter Cell and the Assassins Creed-like game.
0:11 Need For Speed 2012 and Asphalt 8 :O

@@k00svak0weird question
just installed asphalt 8 and asphalt 9 now youtube is recommending me these videos
How do we restore it back?
My first interaction with asphalt 8 was watching a classmate chesumare play it on his ipad back in 2013.
He never let me play it on his machine, and it wasn't until 2015 that I was able to play it on my android tablet... what memories
bro said a tutorial to do this on pc will be in the description i go check it out and i cant find shit 😭
I can't find the link on your description, I know it's been over a year, but Im also looking forward to re-experiencing the game without all the pay to win
