I am from Boston (US) I studied Criminology at Glasgow University. I went out to areas such as Ruchazie, Pollok, Possil, Shettleston etc. Which are all in Glasgow. I also went out to areas in Lanarkshire such as Motherwell, Airdrie, Coatbridge and Cumbernauld. From my own honest opinion based on my experience, Abronhill and Carbrain (Cumbrrnauld) were by far the most intimidating areas both looks wise and social wise. The place looks extremely intimidating and the youth gangs there are easily more dangerous than those in Glasgow nowadays and even in the whole of UK. It says a lot about Abronhill when a youth will chase you with a machete because you said you visited Carbrain.
