Awesome videos brother, cool to see the old nitro stuff still ripping! Questions, which oil percent bones brew do you run, 8 or 10%? I was considering 10% since I run my nitros in mostly 100 degree weather, and really want to try the bones brew 30%! Is shipping costly on it too? Thanks man, nitrogang!!
This was my absolute favourite back in late 90s-2000s and instead got a stampede and back then, they were beyond slow lol. I know it’s not made for it, but can you make a truck like this into a basher type deal?
hey bro, so far I have only sourced a 17T clutch bell. It seems my best solution will be to get a smaller spur gear, and keep the clutch bell the same because there is actually no space to move the engine out at all for a taller clutch bell, I'm hoping the 17T will fit based on how it is right now.
Nice Yeah I just got my 18 tooth last week so I'm running 18/47 right now. So now I need to adjust my trans a little bit more im thinking it might do 50? Maybe I'll get a better pipe too
Regrets, I’ve had a few. Sorry I didn’t keep mine. It was a great little ST/basher. Needed the money to get into helis. Glad I’m back into nitro again. 2WD is so much fun.

Hey man a good reason why it keeps shutting off is that the glow plugs might be on its way out. I had a similar issue with my big block losi lst. The glow plug cant burn all of the fuel in the motor
hey man! thanks for watching, that's highly possible too. This plug is probably over 5 years old, I know for a fact I never replaced it, so it's been there since I got this RC. I might replace it and see how it responds, good point Nitrogang!!
Ahh, driving your RCs next to the Boardwalk. If I'd owned any RCs back when I lived in NJ, I definitely would've done that. But at the time I was a college student and I had no money. Oh well.

And btw, I got this exact RC used for 50 bucks and did tons of repairs (without spending any money). I'm a cheap SOB, but all my old Nitros Run!>. Glad you're on this channel, there is no POSING going on here, we just run RICH & LOUD!.
Hi Dmitry. I have one of these Team Losi XXX-NT trucks but in parts mostly. Need to put it together. Can you recommend an online resource where I can find info about it?
hey man! Here is a link to the original owners manual, this model might be a little different, but overall the same still. You gotta always look for the owners manual to get the best primary information.www.losi.com/ProdInfo/Files/LOSA0887-manual.pdf
Sorry I've been absent for awhile but it has been hectic here for the last few months! That carb bogs like the old GM QuadraJets used to. Had to swap those out for a Holley Spread Bore unless you were really good at re-working those Quadras! As always, I enjoy your videos and hopefully I can get back to a more normal lifestyle now. Stay Safe My Friend!!
hey my friend! hope all is well with you, we all need to get back to our normal life, you know. I've never driven a real car with a carburetor, only fuel injection, but I remember all the stories on those hydrajet carbs from classic car tv shows. you're right!!
We used to swap carbs and intakes all the time just to see the difference in performance. I could swap and tune a carb in about 15 minutes. Took a little longer if we had to do the intake too. Be sitting around uptown drinking a few brews and someone would say, "wonder how my car would run with your carb & intake?" and we would just swap it out and go see. Man, we had some FUN!!! I can't see that happening nowadays! Hell! I can't even stand for 15 minutes!😮😁 You take care My Friend!👍💪
I bought an old xxxnt sport in good condition. The engine is still good. Do you know what new engines will work in the xxxnt rtr? Id like to replace the engine eventually but not sure the type of shaft.
hey buddy! how you doing! Congrats on your nitro purchase, in terms of engines ur highly limited for NEW motors on this old style chassis that uses SHORT shaft style cranks for the motor. In reality you could make any engine fit, with just drilling new chassis holes. I recommend you look into the HPI T3.0 motor, it's a short shaft and rotary carb Pullstart motor. I recently put a brand new T3.0 into a vintage RS4 and it's a direct 100% fit.
@@hybrid32494 thanks for the info. it has a mach .15 re which I think has an ips shaft like a trx 2.5. Was wanting to use the original clutch bell. Ill check out that hpi engine.
@@DetoursRC ok this is good news! There is an option of the hpi G3.0 motor then. The only situation might be the carb linkage set. Im quite sure you're running a rotary carb am I right? I love nitro just driving my rc10gt around my local area at parks an carparks attracts people ive been asked many times where do i get nitros from hopefully in years time ill hear nitros all over my small town cant kill NITRO
Team Losi is the best there is, I own 2 Vintage XXXnt rtr’s and one has a siezed engine that i use for parts but my original .15 drill start will run forever and always starts on a dime. I was told by a trusty rc car shop owner to not tun 30% on these old motors because they will tear them apart just stick with 20% bro. Mainstream shops push %30 because it breaks your car faster and they get alot more profit selling %30.

I ran a 30% Nitro once and I absolutely loved it ran wonderfully the only problem was it was expensive and I didn't want to spend that much plus that was many years ago
hey man! Yes, you could start any nitro without the remote. Just be careful and be fully aware of what position the carb is in, make sure you can easily return the carb to IDLE. Also a good idea to have the wheels off the ground, just in case.
Watching this gives me anxiety. I’m forever scared of runaways after my XXXNT lost signal from a AA battery falling out. That poor thing darted across the yard hitting the neighbors house at top speed. screaming at the top of its lungs. I’m gonna buy a failsafe and switch to a rechargeable battery pack.
Hey bro. Yes I know exactly what you mean you definitely don’t want to run away with a rare vintage nitro. By the way I highly recommend you purchase a fly sky GT five radio and receiver it comes with a very good and reliable built-in failsafe it has never let me down I run it on all my nitros at this point.
hey man! At this point your best bet is to constantly cruise EBAY for parts, r purchase a spare parts roller, this is usually what people have to do to run older RCS, there's no longer new parts being made, you know.
hey bro! It's ok, you can always get more used nitros, ahha. That's what I do. The nitro segment may be nearly dead when it comes to new models (other than Kyosho and some traxxas, exceed, HSP), but that don't matter, my old school LOSI is still Kicking AS*, lol.
hey bro! Yes, the starter box setup would be IDEAL, you're right. Based on the variety of many chassis styles of nitros I own, getting a starter box for a single setup like this would be almost impractical for me, you know. I could see if I ran a bunch of 1/8 buggies then it would make sense. Otherwise the convenience of the pull-start is adequate. I don't run this often enough to justify the bump box, you know. Thanks for watching.
it has been a while since I have done the walk of shame. Just get yourself a sealed back engine those tend to run more reliable anyway. Also having a good tune helps :p
what sup bro! Luckily for me, this thing is still running and I can still cook an egg on it anytime I want, and this is a 18+ year old nitro motor bro. I'm making nitro great again!> BTW I raced this against an X-Maxx and it did quite well.
hey buddy! Your best bet is to look up the parts number based on an old Manual (available on line, do a search). Then you just look it up in eBay. Getting parts for older RCs is not easy, especially this brand. You either gotta run them very gently, or just don't EVERRRR crash!..
@@justinmanse2849 I hear you bro! Often times restoring these things is just not worth the effort, based on what it needs. I highly recommend you find a beat up PARTS one, generally this is what people do when they run old RCs, you just need a parts car.
@@hybrid32494 well this one is kind of a parts one now the duratrax runs just the o ring on the tank leaks so doesn't get good fuel to the carb lop found a tank they want 50 bucks there 7.99 new I guess its vintage now haha

hey bro! IDK if you know this, but I have an Original Tamiya Terra Crusher. I'm working on an update video on it now. I have 2 vids on my channel from back when I bout it, it's an awesome truck with one main issue, The damn transmission, lol.

I think mine is the adam drake version. Has graphite arms an stuff. Pink and white body. I just am no good tuning nitro
I love eggs, but just can't bring my self to replicate your experiment. Lol lol. More power to ya dude!
You know where I can get parts for this car ?
hey man! At this point your best bet is to constantly cruise EBAY for parts, r purchase a spare parts roller, this is usually what people have to do to run older RCS, there's no longer new parts being made, you know.
@@hybrid32494 oh Ok thank you
I have a losi nxt truck with a os.21cv non pull start
Oh yes another baja
haha, Ik new you would like that!!!
I just sold my xxxnt yesterday with a brand new mach 15 engine and got a kyosho inferno mp9 tki4, sad to see it go 😞
hey bro! It's ok, you can always get more used nitros, ahha. That's what I do. The nitro segment may be nearly dead when it comes to new models (other than Kyosho and some traxxas, exceed, HSP), but that don't matter, my old school LOSI is still Kicking AS*, lol.
@@hybrid32494 hahaha Thanks man you make great videos, keep it up!
Gotta to get a bump box man so much easier than those pullstarts but I still have a few engines that have a pull
I would laugh if the egg was in there and the engine died
And you could not start it lol 😂
what sup bro! Luckily for me, this thing is still running and I can still cook an egg on it anytime I want, and this is a 18+ year old nitro motor bro. I'm making nitro great again!> BTW I raced this against an X-Maxx and it did quite well.
Yep motor cuts off just when you think hey it's running pretty good! and it's the Nitro walk of fame! Lol! Done it a fewwwww times
Link to the carb?
Where do you get parts for the losi i have one and need driveshafts
hey buddy! Your best bet is to look up the parts number based on an old Manual (available on line, do a search). Then you just look it up in eBay. Getting parts for older RCs is not easy, especially this brand. You either gotta run them very gently, or just don't EVERRRR crash!..
@@hybrid32494 i wanna restore it and putt around i have a duratrax evader nitro old to all original need a fuel tank yeah finding parts is impossible
@@justinmanse2849 I hear you bro! Often times restoring these things is just not worth the effort, based on what it needs. I highly recommend you find a beat up PARTS one, generally this is what people do when they run old RCs, you just need a parts car.
@@hybrid32494 well this one is kind of a parts one now the duratrax runs just the o ring on the tank leaks so doesn't get good fuel to the carb lop found a tank they want 50 bucks there 7.99 new I guess its vintage now haha
sweet vid bro!
ill take my egg scrambled hahaha!!!
Yesir!!
How do u do that bro
Smoking that nitro gang
NEW GLOWPLUG
You did a double negative do you know where
I love your honesty about the nitro but the most important thing is you’re having fun regardless of what you have even if it’s a RadioShack or $1000 rc
That losi came with a 15 size stock not with the .12
Is a optimus gp a rare rc
Hi
Get a tamiya nitro crusher

Get a tamiya nitro crusher
hey bro! IDK if you know this, but I have an Original Tamiya Terra Crusher. I'm working on an update video on it now. I have 2 vids on my channel from back when I bout it, it's an awesome truck with one main issue, The damn transmission, lol.
