15:40 "This puts me at 8 points, but I'm still really behind" Meanwhile the opponents are sitting on 3, 4, 6 points with 1 or 2 devs and no shot at road or army. 💀
What a d-bag move that would be. Not honoring the future brick, talking about how you'd love to scam/plow blue, and just flaunting the unsecured 3:1 port at blue by taking other settles and popping endless devs because you know they'll actually honor their agreement... these videos are getting hard to watch.
@@ZzZ-qd1zo I get that it is very personal to you, but it is a game, and if a person takes too long to build a road to protect their path to settle, then maybe they didn't care for it that much. The entire map is up for grabs. At the end of the day, someone will get to 8/9 points and all the love gets out of the window and becomes just a robfest. People play as people play and we cannot control how they do it. Agreements have consequences whether followed or not, and the consequences will play out in-game. Cause-Effect. Not good or bad. Just choices. If you don't enjoy it, better not watch. If you can look past labelling things as good and bad for the game. Enjoy!
@@jcm86 "and if a person takes too long to build a road to protect their path to settle, then maybe they didn't care for it that much" Which is why I would have enjoyed seeing D get plowed to the 3:1. He looooves to talk about how much he needs to defend settles, then just leave them open indefinitely.
@13:58 Haven’t finished the video yet, so I could be wrong: but please for the love of Catan DO NOT keep buying dev cards and fighting blue for Army. With two VPs, two YoP, and city on wood brink, you are an absolute lock for settlement, city, longest road, win the game. Why fight an uphill battle for army, draw out the game, and let other opponents catch up? Just win the game as fast as possible dude! I think if you don’t buy a single new dev card you are 90% to win right now.
at 8:44 do you ever consider road settling on the 2:1 wood then porting for 2 bricks to plow blue to 6 11? i think i would have done that, perhaps it’s too expensive and not worth it? curious to know!
What I think is, he just needed to pop and pacing for army at this point, he was clearly the leading guy and should be getting jacked to death, better have some Devs for self protection. And if he dropped 2 roads to cut, he might make an enemy and no one would trade him sheep which he couldn’t roll for it. Then the situation would be just dead for him
man black kind of threw they have a much better game with 1092 to 62. I see the idea but as dylighted already stated its far too slow. Its also necessary for black to do that because no matter what army is their win con with a setup like that. Even if you build to wheat 693 player is always playing road. A strong 2 for 1 port is better than sheep a lot of the time. This was a great example of that.
Love these regular uploads. And I realized you may be prerecording these so you may not adjust your playstyle based off our suggestions for a while so sorry if my comments be kinda aggresive.
Thing is, if he doesn’t take army blue is also close to winning. That’s the thing with army: it’s not just 2 points for you but it also takes 2 away from someone else
@@mehulsingla6539I suppose. But it took him like 4-5 rotations. Where he could have been getting 1.75-2x income off settling and cutting and having the earlier port.
@@mehulsingla6539 Yes, but I think going for Army was “win more” in that regard. Taking 2 VP from blue makes the final VP differential into a blowout victory, but winning by 1 is just as valuable as winning by 4-5. I think Dylan got very lucky his opponents didn’t have the third knight already, and they didn’t coordinate to trade someone largest army. If instead he just goes for road and uses his two YoP to settle and city, he absolutely beats blue to 10 VP. Only way Dylan could have lost (after getting 2 VP, 2 YoP) is if he spends his resources on more Dev cards and fails to beat blue to Largest Army. (Which seem like the likely scenario with Blue at 2 knights and 1 down dev. Lucky that Blue didn’t have it.)
Why do you repeat yourself so much? “No no no. I need the two sheep. I need the two sheep. It was a fine trade. It was a fine trade. Let’s do this. Let’s do this.”
Man why don't you play more simple? You always overthink too much. You have the opportunity to plow your greatest threat, just do it. You have a yop to take a settlement, just do it. You keep losing a bunch of cards and opportunities for no reason.

I was gonna ask about why not plow blue for 6 ore, but I liked that the GOAT acknowledged that option later in the video.

Jeez, this man is really good at seeing worlds!
Bro is getting hella scammy with his trades.
Honestly going city and settlement you could use the YOP for taking road which no one was going for.
Hey dylan great vid as always but i would like to see some of your losses too. I think they can be very instructive. Keep up!
He just posted a loss yesterday...
I'm surprised you didn't play the yop to get the settlement much earlier
I was yelling at my screen for him to YOP it lol
Catan youtuber prioritizing a road/settle over a dev/city: impossible challenge.

Black completely failed to recognize the trading value of wheat and brick on this board. 9,10,2 is a very strong 2nd pick for black here.

Yooo, why didn't you go on the 6 ore with your monster hand at 8:20?!!! Plough blue man
later also possible but it was a plough settle right there :D
hi dylan look no further i am your new creative director
Good game!
Awesome game! Nice way to work the board and grab the win cons.
Yeah the 693 being the best wheat spot, and having best brick with a good amount of wood next to wood port is definitely most appealing.
Nice game. I don't think u need army there. With 2 vps 4 cities wins the game
