Watch in HD!!! This is a drum cover for 'Yellowjacket' by Spiritbox.
This is one of my favorites songs from their release titled 'Eternal Blue'. This is my third Spiritbox cover... So I'll probably calm down on Spiritbox covers after this one. I'm just a big fan of their music, and I really like their production and writing style. Everything always sounds huge.
I recently changed out a bunch of gear in my studio, and I downsized a lot. I'm still using similar pre's, but I swapped out a few room microphones and sold most of my outboard gear. This is the first video I've recorded with the new setup, and I'm still learning a few things about it. Either way, I'm really happy with my new setup because it's a lot simpler. I definitely have some tweaking to do over the next few months, but I'm excited to have a simpler setup. I've included details for all of my microphones and mic pre's below.
I'm also slowly chipping away at another solo EP, and I'm really excited to start posting more about that in the future. I still need to track and record everything, produce, mix, vocals, etc... But, another EP is definitely in the works, and I can't wait to finish everything up.
Raw drum multi-tracks for original session drums and drum transcription are available for purchase on my GumRoad. Please check it out if you have a minute. :) \m/ Link:

This video is a masterpiece
Those toms sound SO GOOD. They are practically singing.
I still regret the time I saw you at an AAL show in Chicago and was too scared to ask for a picture. You’re such a beast
Wow! Small world. Hope all is well.
Man, this song hits like a ton of bricks and your playing/sound just make it slap all the more tasty.
Thank you! \m/
I am always overwhelmed by your drum tones!!!!
Thank you! Appreciate it. Got some new gear and simplified things. So I'm still tweaking the new setup/mix. This was the first video I recorded with the new setup. \m/
Your Spiritbox covers are the best and it‘s always so much fun learning their songs from your videos!
So I'm pretty sure I need a GGD One Kit Wonder: Anup 'cause this shit sounds dope AF
Check out RS Drums! They sound great!
Damn Anup. From the first time I heard you in Intervals in like 2010, you're still one of my favourite drummers
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Anup's monster snare sound. I just can't get enough.
There’s passion in these drums and refreshing to see someone feel the intensity with each beat.
Love these
dude is a fucking monster...he mastered the drumming skill and sound engineer skill at the same time..HOLY FUCKING SHITTT....
Those tom patterns and the cymbal work. There is getting the job done, and then there is pure art. This is most certainly the latter.
Your drumming faces are my spirit animal!!!
Love your energy. :)
Love that snare!
So sick homie! Keep crushing these covers cuz you da bomb!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOAH Blowing minds!
Sam Carter of Architects, impossible not recognize his voice! so dope

When that intro riff finally kicks in my face gets soooo stinky every time. Sick cover as usual Anup.
Incredible dude! The intensity! The cymbal play! Jeeeeesus! Also that fuggin shotgun of a snare tone! This is my new favorite play through!
That ending though lol.
Nailed it
Dude, you're such a beast. I was watching your doom cover and I was just so impressed. Definitely subscribing

That scream at the end said it all
Спасибо мужик! Я кайфанул! Очень энергично, отличный и плотный звук \m/,
You rock bud ☺🤘
I dig the squeal at the end of every video. I actually look forward to it.

Super heavy and clean 🤘 made me laugh at the last part 😂

Your tone is so good! Those toms slap!
Thanks a lot! Usually never happy with my tom tone. So thanks! \m/
@@asdrummer2008 Everything sounded extra punchy, but the toms were brutal!

Amazing as always Anup! Following the channel a long time now and it's always a joy to see new uploads from you!
It would be great to see you cover Cardinal Red-Monuments 🤘
Thanks a lot! Definitely working on some new covers.
@asdrummer2008 looking forward to it as always man! Much respect from Ireland!
Nice.
Yes. Straight.
Dang! Soooo good. Miss you on the interwebs, Anup! When you start gigging more will you vlog like you used to?
This kit sounds so freaking good and poppy. Love the facial expressions too 😂
Thanks a lot for the kind words!
always look forward for the screams at the end
The amount of passion, effort and satisfaction that shows on your face is what keeps me watching. Also, how are your heads so pristine all the time when you play like youre holding hammers?
Thank you! I use pretty thick heads, especially on snare. \m/
WEEAAAAOOOOOOW
YESSIR
I'm a straight male, but goddamn, this is the tightest man I've ever seen.
Comment is hilarious
Hittin' like a ton of bricks man
Damn that kick sounds juicy af
Been following you since seeing you with Intervals in like... 2012? Keep killing it, man!
Thanks a lot for the support. \m/
He's like "finally I got this fucking take done"
I get the impression that's how you feel after playing it 🤣 I'm getting some of that just from _hearing_ the song for the first time 🤯
This... \m/
Caraio!!!
(This is my third Spiritbox cover... So I'll probably calm down on Spiritbox covers after this one) wtf KEEP GOING you beast!!!
I second this. Seeing Anup playing Circle With Me someday would be epic!
Dude I was just getting into drums back when I saw you live in Ontario Canada when I think you were playing drums for Intervals. I remember just being wowed by your playing, how long does it take you to practice for these covers you do? You play with such confidence it's inspiring man.
Thanks a lot for the kind words. It usually depends on the complexity of the song. This song in particular didn't take too long, maybe two or three days to fully get it down. Other songs have taken me a week or two (Ion Dissonance, Slipknot, Karnivool, etc). Just depends on how crazy it is.
That scream thoughh 😂😂
Now do Perinnial so I can figure out what the hell is going on with the snare in the chorus lol. Also yes your drum tone is always amazing
Hey Anup, do you have a link to your personal spotify playlists? I love your song tastes.
This song is such a fucking banger 🤘
this fill 2:23
Why did I get the notification for this while listening to the first IWABO album lmao
Sick as fuck. So tight, such nice tones.
That snare is dirty tight ;)
What are those tiny gels and are they placed on certain nodal points? Are they just Moon Gels cut into really tiny pieces?
Jamming
Do a cover of Mr. Struggle
That audio, tasty
🤯🤯🤯 that second verse could have used a nasty open hats and bass groove on the second half.....
Is the snare head an Evans ST dry? Sounds mint
How does your drumming make even the GUITARS sound heavier???
Need some kick footage. Really like seeing foot work. By the way what size is yr kick?
22 x 16! \m/
Please do silk in the strings 🙏
