"I sound awful but I feel terrific" that's all I wanted to hear, glad to know he's doing great.
yep!
that's what matters.
Gary Cooper. The strong, silent type
@@GrandMoffTarkin lol sopranos reference?
were did he say that
This broke my heart, I worked with Val back in the 90’s as his trainer… he’s such a great man, very kind..
🧢
He feel's terrific, so that's all that matters. After watching my parents deal with chronic pain and myself dealing with chronic pain, priorities in life change. Time moves on and you understand that if you feel good (have good health), then you have it all. As a trainer, I would like to see you take this approach instead of pity. Be positive.
@@shyman99 first off, never said anything negative about Val.. second, I don’t pity or discredit anyone, I simply said it made me sad to know he’s gone through some health issues.. now I said that because of my experience with him, not because I’m looking down at him…. You don’t know me or what’s in my heart to assume and make that comment
@@workoutwarrior3118 - Why would you edit your original comment of "absolutely, god bless him.." to your latest diatribe? You were a better man with the first message and the man I thought you were with the revised message.
@@shyman99 I didn’t edit, or erase it.. I actually just noticed it wasn’t in the thread.. I don’t know what your problem is with me, or what I’ve said but I can tell you with total honesty especially about sending someone a blessing, why would I take that back? Seriously
This breaks My heart seeing Val in this condition but I admire his courage determination and will to never give up. A true and real life Doc Holiday. Wishing the best for Val and His Family
He was awesome in Heat.
,I don't feel sorry for him, he's out in front of this, hiding nothing, most guys with his past would just hide until they diied, while their publicist said everything was a lie. I'll bet Val doesn't evern have a publicist anymore. He's just putting it all out there with nothing to hide. You really have to love it, it's inspiring, when life comes at you like that, wade into it and let the chips fall where they may. People will love and respect you for it. Val is proving that he is more than just a Hollywood actor. Well done, in my opinion. And yeah, his body of work speaks for itself
@@jameshoran8 Definitely........his action on the roof at the old drive in theater with the rifle was fantastic......one of my favourite actors...
Me too val kilmer is a great actor. Best doc Holliday there was
@@azspotfree I think it's absolutely possible to be inspired and admire his strength and Courage and being heartbroken at the same time.
Doesn’t matter what he sounds like. Val is always gonna be a great actor. Even if he has to play silent characters he’s still got the grit to push onward. He’s from the generation that did their own stunts, worked out until they were in perfect shape without steroids, treated their fans right and were commuted to playing their role perfectly. Voice or no voice he’s still got it.
Actors have been doing steroids long before Vals generation, it was just kept out of the public domain.
It's not that he still got it. It's that his past movies were great.
Delusional
@@Tre16 really? I’m delusional? Name a modern actor that’s as gifted?
Back then was steroid prime
Sad, I never knew Val was in such a difficult spot
I know man ,so sad...
Me neither.
@Wavid His most powerful movie in my opinion was "The Doors" where he played Jim Morrison. I saw it back in High School and was blown away. I've seen documentaries on "The Doors" and Val had Jim down to a TEE!.
Well, he said he got run over by a cement mixer so yeah...difficult indeed.
@Wavid Oh yeah... very underrated. Another top favorite of mine was "The Saint".
His appearance in the movie was very touching and emotional. It was good to see him. Glad he’s doing so well.
It's great to see that he beat cancer
My dad also had throat cancer, he fought with it for 5 years, and he didn't make it
Great to see a person get over his illness and get the recognition he deserves
Hugs🙏🏾
God bless Val Kilmer. One of my favourite actors. Such a great natural actor. I pray for you🙏
I had a college professor who also had throat cancer. She stopped teaching, but I saw on FB a few years ago that she was still alive.
Same here. Still misses dad. Good to see people that could make it.
Yes, same happened to my dad. Val might not have his voice but he's one of the lucky ones
God bless Val. He is a warrior, my heart breaks hearing him speak but extremely happy he is cancer free. He is truly a legendary actor
By the way, I am glad he survived cancer and he can be okay. His Batman was a great part of my childhood. Thank you for it.
I agree!! 💙👍
I’m Batman! And I agree 1,000%!! Val is the best!💯💯👍
I can’t deal with these new no nippled Batman, wannabes.
For me he was the best Batman
@@anshu22 his batman was honestly not that bad
It’s chilling to see what happened to Val Kilmer; we feel and seem so invincible when we are young, but… anyway it’s great that he came through it and is able to spend quality time with his daughter by working together. I know Top Gun was supposed to be all about Tom Cruise but whenever I recall that movie, I always see the Ice Man.
So true.
I actually admired Ice Man much more than Maverick, Ice was professional, cool under pressure, team player. Mav: undisciplined and comes off as immature.
Yeah its especially shocking when someone goes from .. well being Val Kilmer the movie star to being Val Kilmer the weathered cancer patient :3/.
@@DekkarJr Val Kilmer has a great attitude. I've been through some difficult times lately regarding my health and mentally and physically but it is nothing life and death yet there are days in which I'd like to give up!
I wish Val would lend me some good cheer so I can smile like him like I used to.
I hope he recovers from that cancer he is such a great fellow and great actor.
Great comment.
As I a kid I wanted to be like iceman, he was so cool and looked indestructible.
Oh god. This brings up memories for me. My beautiful momma had throat cancer. She beat that, it was one hell of a fight, and doctors didn't think she was going to beat it, but she did. She had a tracheotomy, a feeding tube, and lost over 100lbs. Then it came back in her lungs. She was too frail to fight that one, and I miss her more and more every day. I pray Val is as healthy as possible from now on. I always had a major crush on him growing up, especially in Willow!
Kristen Long, I am so sorry about the loss of your Mom. May cherished memories of times spent with her bring some measure of comfort and peace.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@chrisspiers6310 Thank you.
Sorry to hear about your loss. Newsweek said Val Kilmer uses a feeding tube connected to his stomach to eat because he can't swallow food anymore. He says he's been healed of cancer since 2016 with no recurrence though.
I am so sorry about your mom! What a fight this cancer must mean, especially one so detrimental! How hard for her and you...all the best for your life now. And I loved WILLOW so much too. I share that crush! :)
I'm sorry about your loss. My dad passed away from cancer too. Sending you my hugh. Excuse my English. It's not my first language.
Val is such a wonderful guy, I am sad this happened to him but inspired that he has survived and will not give up his career. Even though his character was Maverick's rival in the first movie, Val actually portrayed Iceman in a way that made Iceman still likeable. He was also great in Real Genius and in Heat. I was glad to see Val act in Top Gun Maverick. He still has it, still portrays a likeable guy.
Yup. The Saint is one of my wife's favorite movies.
The Saint , and Salton Sea are two must see movies of his also ! Watched an interview a few weeks ago with him about his illness ! What a strong character this man has ! Be well Val
So true..I remember the name "Iceman"...just as much if not a little more than "Maverick"..to be honest.Really glad to see he's still pushing on with acting 👍👏
Let's not forget about Tombstone's Doc Holliday ❤️
@@Teacher-Thayse of course not 😉👍
I have been a Val Kilmer fan my entire life. It has been a pleasure to witness a true artist enjoying their craft. You sir are still one of the best. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world.
Always been a huge fan! Val is an actor for the ages. So talented. I love that Tom wouldn't leave him out. So sweet.
Man this hurts seeing Val like this especially as a long time fan. I've been a fan of his since Doc Holiday in tombstone and Top Gun. That man is a true Hollywood legend
he’s our Huckleberry. 😅😀. One of his best performances.
He deserved an oscar for Tombstone.
Best actor of his generation. I’ve been a fan for 30 years and ❤️
+1
Why no one should ever ever smoke.
One of my all time favorites. I'm glad I got to grow up in the 80's and admire him in his Prime. Age comes for us all, and Val embraces every minute of it with class.
Val is an actor/artist but inside the man has the heart of a warrior. God bless and watch over him.
Nothing but love and respect for the man...happy to have seen his works. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us, Val.
Val is forever one of my favourite actors, such huge talent and ability ❤️❤️❤️🌟🌟🌟
What a sweet man. My mom had the biggest crush on Val Kilmer and I've wondered where he's been. I'm so glad to hear that he feels terrific! 💚
Val Kilmer, what an actor.. his performance in The Doors as Jim Morrison was astounding.
facts, what an incredible performance
It literally was. Seeing this interview has broken my heart man. I had no idea!!! 😔
Another great Val Kilmer movie is Wonderland
@@Gabriel-by4fd the saint is one of my favorites. And real genius. Remember uncle Rico was Laslow, the guy that lived behind the secret door in his closet. Lol
The Doors for sure. One of my favorites is Salton Sea. Oh, and I will never forget him as Madmartigan. Perhaps my favorite character of his overall, and the first of his I ever saw.
He is the most awesome actor. I watched his life story recently and it was very touching. He basically filmed his whole life with a camcorder as it happened, which was pretty damned amazing.
Damn man! Brings tears to see and imagine what he has gone through. Still one of my faves
I love this actor he is ua-cam.com/video/MICPyrnGYwg/v-deo.html
true living legend in TOMBSTONE MOVIE !!!
Val Kilmer is an absolute legend. After Top Gun all the ladies wanted to be with him, all the guys wanted to be him. My friends and I started practicing rolling that pencil through our fingers at 10 years old. It's actually not that hard, but to do it and look that impossibly cool? I even looked a lot like him in my 20's but never could get close to mastering my favorite scene. The Doc Holiday bar scene where he's spinning those cups is also freaking awesome. Those movies and scenes will never grow old, never get sick, and will never ever die. Thank you for those treasures Val Kilmer and so glad you feel terrific!
From been tough to so fragile , life journey is beyond unpredictable.
He’s a different kind of tough now

Val forever man. This guy is one of THE best actors in history.
We used to hang out with Val in Santa Fe regularly. He's a character for sure... still a madman. I wish him well.
I had a couple of Santa Fe friends that were also friendly with him shortly before he did The Doors movie, because he would occasionally call my apartment in Hollywood when he was shooting that film and while they were staying with me. Apparently playing Jim was taking a lot out of him. But man, did he ever do an incredible job. Cheers!
I had no idea Val had suffered from throat cancer, but I’m very glad to know that he’s beaten it and is doing well ❤️
I was just talking about him! This makes me sad but I'm happy he is making it through! Prayers up for you Mr. Kilmer💙
My dad also had the same thing and spoke like that. I started crying now. Miss you daddy 🌻
I had no idea... bless him. So cool he is working!!! More years to come!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
More power to you Val Kilmer. You are a super human. Prayers for your good & long healthy life.
He was so charismatic in Heat. Heartbreaking. Huge respect to him!

I agree
"The Saint" one of the best..
how can you be a val kilmer fan and not acknowledge WILLOW for the towering cinematic masterpiece that it is? all of val's other performances were duds by comparison.
Yes they were his best.
The Saint.....
It is sad to see him dealing with such a serious health issue but I am glad that he is able to keep acting and hopefully he has many great years ahead of him.
I love Val’s positivity! 💖💖💖
Watching Top Gunn 2 with Val Kilmer's cameo was so moving knowing what he is in real life living. They seamlessly weaved in the past to the present with a fitting farewell. The scene with Maverick and Ice was so powerful and moving.
Love Val! Man, I forgot just how handsome he was. I'm glad to see he is in good spirits and is still working. :)
This brought a tear to my eye and a smile because I was completely unaware of where Val was at in his career until I saw the new topgun and to follow up afterwards to see he has a daughter that he's playing in movies with us just a blessing
Omg I had no idea about Val Kilmer’s health. Amazing actor.
Oh no Val , I am sorry that you ve been having difficult times. You were the one Actor that I still want to see great performances, hope you'll be much better soon.
I've been with him as an avid fan because of his mesmerizing talent for decades and have been in awe of the majority of his work, however my work from '09 through '18 kept me self absorbed so I didn't know about his struggles until a few years ago. He's been professionally private, secluded in his health journey which is commendable and envious simultaneously, however my hurt for this gem of a human is unrivaled! I sooo admire his soul because of the tenacity & courage, but still it's difficult to witness such an idol in this way... respect 🙏
I admire Val. Such an amazing Genius. Yes. I loved his acting. But he is doing so much better now. People talk about how bad they feel watching the Doc. Val. And this man shows the world the hardest thing he ever went through. And then loosing his Mom. But his other talents are emerging. His art work, KampKilmer . Val has showed us all how to fight with little hope. And come back. Stronger and non stop working. It took alot of guts to show his most vulnerable times in his life. And still never giving up. That deserves all our Respect.
Aww The Saint will always be one of my all time favorite movie. Val Kilmer was the best batman too. He is sexy, suave and has this really beautiful smile. Loads of love to you Val ❤❤
The Saint was a cool movie
The scene in TGM with Val is the most touching moment. That Hollywood smile stole the show.
I am really glad that Val is in these movies and continues to work!
Such a tremendous blessing to hear that Val has beaten that cancer! Praying he remains cancer-free from here on in! God is amazing! 🙏🏻♥️
He aged fairly well, and was just amazed at how strong he was.
Ive seen Val at a few of the comic con events. Great to see him still getting out and being active. And as a fellow cancer survivor I think it speaks to those who have gone through similar situations.
Val is great, he starred in so many iconic movies.I didn't know he had cancer, but it's great that he's still acting.
I legit didn’t know he had throat cancer man he is a warrior. God bless him

So glad Val is feeling good and is so willing to speak even at this point. What a cool guy. That’s called having spirit.
I think he has a more funny voice now than when he was younger.
VAL got robbed of an Oscar for Doc Holiday ...“I'm your huckleberry”
I really hope he gets his voice back. Even if its 50% recovery, this man deserves to get his voice back.
i hope so too but he's had a tracheostomy so wind comes through the front of that rather than up and over the vocal cords. there will have to be some new breakthroughs for significant improvements.
Sorry, but I think it’s permanent. On the bright side, he sounds like Stephen Hawking.
He looked so good as Iceman. I wish him all the Best.

I didn't knew about his struggle. I'm happy to see he's in good mood.
The Saint is my favorite Film with him.
For a long time people thought that being a "pretty boy" in Hollywood meant you were an overrated actor. I'm glad people are starting to see that actors like Brad Pitt and Val Kilmer are more than just a pretty face and are great actors. Look how different of characters they can play: Pitt played a psychotic killer in Kalifornia, a tank commander in Fury, and then a vapid, gym-rat moron in Burn After Reading, all convincingly. Same with Kilmer. He could play a hot shot (Top Gun) a hero (The Saint/Batman), then comedy in Top Secret, and then a character as weak and pathetic as John Holmes in Wonderland.
Facts: No matter how great you are at something, if you're attractive, the same sex will usually attribute your success to only that.
Brilliant to see Val acting again. Will definitely be going to see this
This was sad :(
