That’s pretty much the only downside to riding in the rain for me though. Inclement weather just makes in
T feel more of a challenge and, therefore, more rewarding. 😂
Wind on the other hand… yeh, that can get in the bin!
So true! The wind just makes it impossible…I’ve found myself hiding in ditches so I can be heard over the wind.

I went for a ride Saturday and got soaked, but I enjoyed it too. It's not to bad riding in the rain.

Hiya Dave, still loving your videos, I love your enthusiasm, very inspirational. In fact, I'm back on my bike and riding nearly everyday in Australia Newcastle (but I'm a pom), I'm riding because of guys like you, Francis, Chris Hall, Katie, and Amy and the other Amy......geeze loving all you lot so inspiring. I want to come back home to England sometime soon and hopefully I can ride back home again.

There's something absurdly zen about zipping along with the rain clattering off your rain jacket and helmet.
Fitness is a virtuous/vicious circle. It's great to ride when you are fit and your body does what you want and you can climb hills for fun. So you ride more and get even fitter. It's rubbish to ride when you feel really slow and unfit and every hill hurts. So you don't want to ride at all and get less fit.
That's been most of my rides lately, in the rain. Still saves having to wash the bike.

Motivation is a big factor in getting out and enjoying a ride. Last week in Mallorca, big motivation and loads of smiles. Back in Blighty and is cold and less motivation, and to top it all off I have a Ramp Test to do in a minute…. Less motivation 😂
You’re bang on with the talk about kit. A good set of kit even in our wet weather can make for a much more enjoyable ride.

I watch your videos and I have such fond memories of the times when I was in the UK, 13 years have passed, but I still dream of going back there with a bike and, despite the wonderful English weather, traversing these beautiful surroundings 💚

I am a wimp, I don't ride in the wet at all. Mostly due to me having a tiny apartment with a white carpet that I keep my bike in and no real place to clean / dry it :) Other wise i'd suck it up, or at least I think I would haha.
