One thing I love about the movie is that the Building is the enemy, not exactly the ghosts. Listen to the movie, everything the guys joke about in the film happening or hints at, aludes to, happens. Every little thing they spout "It could be a demon, we do not want to mess with something like this" all the way to the genuine comments like "If our lights go out, we're fucked", the building is listening and taking notes. It doesn't just scare them, it taunts them and messes with them. It knows what they want and what they don't want. It takes everything they say and throws it back in their faces. Even if the film is fake, I would never step foot in that asylum because you truly never know if something like that is actually going to happen.
you gotta see Extraterrestrial dude :D like what you just said but for cheesey alien abduction cliches! :D I have to see this movie cuz those directors rock.
Really enjoy you guys. Seriously, this channel deserves SO MUCH success. I have been a subscriber from the U.S for the past five years and always look forward to your uploads. Grave Encounters was a surprisingly good found footage movie. Fantastic review as always!
When the clock turns to day but it's still night from the upstairs window....that's when I knew they were screwed. No music, no jump scare, no crescendo. Just stillness and silence.
I just got done watching the recent podcast from you guys, and I keep trying to become a patreon member and I can't get it to work. I even became a patreon member to someone else this week and tried again for your channel and it wouldnt let me specifically for you guys. I'm gonna become a UA-cam channel member now instead, but I wish I could become a patreon member and help you guys out there
Don't really think that Grave Encounters 2 was about making the ghost famous, but to lure in more people to the asylum as it did with the college kids.
I got just a really good moive for you guys, no jokes and one word... Diablo (2015) starting Scott Eastwood, yes Client Eastwood's son, Walter Goggins, Danny Glover, and a bunch more familiar faces. Set 7 years after the Civil war. That's all I want to tell you because the moive is so good, I don't want to give anything away, you're welcome and enjoy!
Oh,I love this one! Especially the rat smashing scene. I watched it frame by frame and it is absolutely brilliant.I have no idea how they did it,if it is a special effect, and I guess it must be, it is one of the best special effects ever done in a film.
Grave Encounters is the king of "found footage" and a masterclass in low budget horror. Ive not watched it with anybody who didnt enjoy it, and it has always delivered a good spook.
I really appreciate this film because while it does follow many of the found footage tropes, it's original in several ways and went meta/humorously self-aware long before it was ubiquitous in horror films. The effects were immensely impressive, especially the "rat scene." You lads probably won't see thos comment, but could you do some Asain horror? "AUDITION" and "A TALE OF TWO SISTERS" are two of my favourites and I would love to hear your take on either of these films.
It's one of my favorite FF movies out there. The build up isn't drawn out and once shit hits the fan, the movie keeps the up the pace. If you haven't watched it, do it now. It's a classic for spooky season for sure!
I hate to admit it but I was really into all those original ghost shows so when this came out it was so on point with how fake they all were in the first part of the film. Then of course it goes off the rails, lol. I enjoy it enough to rewatch this about once a year.
I would love to see your take on some British horror films, the borderlands, a dark song and a field in England would be 3 great films you may not have seen yet.
If anyone has ever played Metal Gear Solid Guns of the Patriots, the main character looks exactly like the young Snake face mask you can wear in the game.
the concept of the movie is what makes it work, you always wanted something to happen to those people making bullshit ghost shows, and this movie gives you that, and the movie itself is well made for the resources and budget they had
This is actually a great movie that works as a satire of those paranormal shows where nothing happens , but also it’s a really scary haunted house movie. More original than it seems truly atmospheric. I bought it on Blu-ray. The sequel was also fun but unnecessary. As ghost houses movies go this is particularly good. I think for someone to do a proper review of this movie that person needs to see it alone in the dark at 4am with a thunderstorm outside. Watching it with your mates in the afternoon, while commenting on the couch and eating popcorns doesn’t do it.
I would really love to see you guys review a british found footage film called the borderlands which actually gave a legitimate reason for the characters to have the cameras and a real nice slow burn with a really shocking pay off it's found footage done right if you ask me
this is one of my fav movies i watch it so many times i like the first half more than the second half. the build up the mystery, the fact that they lie and make up stuff to boost ratings for their show just for it to really happen its really clever. However once the 2nd half starts it becomes the same old horror movie we seen before but either way i enjoy it very much thank you Ian and Gary for reviewing this movie.
I enjoyed the first film and definitely got the SILENT HILL vibe which is probably the reason I enjoyed it as much. The second one was such a let down. If they make a 3rd I hope it retcons 2 or if it does the EVIL DEAD approach then I hope part 3 is better than 2. I do recommend this for found footage fans. I wonder what your thoughts are on THE MONSTER PROJECT.
This seems like a movie that's enjoyable if you Wiki it before hand and know the backstory and all that. I tried to watch it twice and it was just bland shaky cam to me.
This one is all right...I guess, but it picks up in the 2nd half, some creepy moments. I'm not too big on "found footage", but they're watchable with good SFX. Hey it's horror & that's good enough...! Part II is ok...can anyone say "another 'Evil Dead' sucked thru the time portal feel!?
One of my absolute favorite guilty pleasure movies. Second one was unfortunately an absolute disaster, should've never happen. I love found footage movies, but there are rarely any really good ones
I’m calling it ‘off the shelf the movie’ imagine Wayne’s world meets spinal tap where Gary and Iain get scouted to replace a mark kermode style TV movie critic. Lads move to London along with a stowed away Jesse to start their new careers as tv film critics wowing audiences with a more working class insight into what’s going on on the big screen etc then disgraced mark kermode guy seeks revenge by trying to sabotage the lads friendship and ultimately their new show!!!! LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN
Watched a lot of found footage style films over lockdown and this is one of the better ones. The sequel is unwatchable. This and Session 9 were my favourites, Dyatlov Pass and Chernobyl Diaries was the worst. Disappointing given the source material.
I’ve never and will never watch these movies because their just not my kind of horror movie I’m a slasher horror guy though I always had two questions regarding these movies one in universe what happens if you go to the asylum during the day do the same things happen during the day that happen at night and two just how many people have gone in there and never came back out and to that end logic would dictate that if enough people go in and never come out then just take a wrecking ball to the damn building and knock it down that way it can’t take any more people then have a priest bless the land it stood on that way it’s gone forever no more people have to die but you might say “then we’d have no movie” so which I say then don’t write your movie with a plot hole so big that a child could see through it I rest my case
I think the idea of an eldritch location where it is always night and where the hallways wrap back around on themselves was really interesting
There's a weird book called House of Leaves that you might like.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this one, I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. Thought it conveyed a feeling of hopelessness really well.

I love the way this ripped on the Ghost Adventures Crew, LMFAOOOOO. This is my all time found footage fave.
Great review. I've always really liked this film.
Saw this back in the day. Someone actually put it on UA-cam! It were fun. Didn't find it scary, more like a haunted house ride, but it worked I think.

I eagerly wait for part 3. Love these movies. Great coverage y'all.
This synopsis sounds right up my alley. I'm gonna watch this now
It's honestly a good movie, like it's no Hollywood block buster, but overall it's good
@@xXArmitronXx Definitely one of the better flicks in the genre!
This movie is the definition of be careful what you wish for

oh is this a zach baggins sendup? nice. Nice. You should check out the Cleansing hour that was pretty a'ight as well.

Oh GRAVE encounters. Read that title quite a big wrong. Thought the movie must be popular in California

Would you lads consider doing ‘in the line of fire’ with Clint Eastwood soon.? I’m proper into that film at the moment lol
You gotta review the Hell House LLC series next

Cheesy but fun. Way better than the entire Paranormal Activity sequels combined!

Also, ive been to the location where they filmed.
Its every bit as unsettling in real life.
Would love you guys to review Gonjiam:Haunted Asylum
. I think it's great and has some really unsettling moments.
You guys would do an awesome job with Heck (edited for youtube) House LLC!
Oh wait the Vicious Bros? the same guys who made Extraterrestrial (2014)? nice. that movie was sick.
I immediately fell in love with this movie… At first, it plays as a kinda horror spoof, and then sh!t gets real😂😂😂😂😂
Imma admit, of all of the ghost hunting shows, Ghost Adventures is the one I watch.
I enjoyed Grave Encounters the first time i saw it, had its creepy moments, sequel i didn't enjoy so much
I would really love to see you guys review a british found footage film called the borderlands which actually gave a legitimate reason for the characters to have the cameras and a real nice slow burn with a really shocking pay off it's found footage done right if you ask me

Mr. Grey would love debunking this movie haha 😄

Nice! And it's a movie I've seen! Can't wait!
Actually I think these are pretty solid found footage films. A lot better than the Hell House series.
Please do Cloverfield is my favourite found footage film
Great review guys. Personally I haven't seen it but I heard is bad but it is a guilty pleasure. Have a great day guys!
Fun film! Love the channel guys 🤟

I always preferred the paranormal investigators from Ghost Facers.
I love how Gary's trimmed beard made him years younger. Lol
Also *Turn up*
This is my favorite found footage movie
I loved this movie. It stays just as creepy with every watch as it did the first time.
Grave Encounters sounds like a cool guys I'd like to see it
Good Movie... Great Review
Something for me to check out when I get home! Thankyou both for providing such great reviews no matter how shit the movie is. 👊❤
Loved this movie, but I wish they chose not to use CGI on some of those scenes, they kinda ruined it.
Freaky deaky, spooky wooky, ghosty woastie
This one is a classic!
Looking at the evidence, I think it's a Goryo. Pack up the truck, fellas, we're out of here.
Count me in with those who bloody loved this film! lol
Iv never even heard of this film. But gonna give it a watch 1 night in bed 🍿🍷

I don’t have any reason why I like this movie
The sequel makes this one better.

Honestly, this is not a bad movie. It gets a lot of hate because of the Muslims, but for a low budget indie, it punches above its weight.
Turns out they put automatic shutters and they thought it would be funny if no one told that guy.
Doesn't seem like my cup of tea, but enjoyed the review regardless!
A movie that's a cliche and a trope before it was a cliche and a trope.
