These sorts of spaces work perfectly for people who don't have much stuff, y'know, the unsightly random stuff you need and can't throw away but id extremely difficult to store without resorting to ugly boxes and crates. If you don't have much of that sort of stuff it's so much easier to decorate a space and make it more aesthetically pleasing. Great hidden storage is EVERYTHING when it comes to apartments and small homes.

Haha I think everyone has those unsightly things that we need but also really want to throw away lol, I tend to keep those random bits in a big draw or cupboard and try to forget about it hehe.
