Accusing people of actions simply for being born in a certain place has always been laughable. I was born in Birmingham, Alabama, in the 50s and lived there during Jim Crow laws, so some people have assumed I am racist. I am not, but also have never felt obliged to prove it or explain myself to ignorant people. Sounds like Elon has the same mindset. If by "they" you mean the powers on the left, they can't love him because he refuses to be their puppet. Musk knows he's more powerful than they are and he doesn't have to be. Others in tech have sold out to try to enrich themselves. Musk knows the tech industry is taking power away from the old guard such as the media and he isn't afraid to take them head on. He will never capitulate to them. They will eventually be owned by him or someone like him and they will then do what they are told to do in the same way that they do today.
I admire him for assembling teams of geniuses and is efforts in bringing telecommunication to the world and in climate change!
