This is the video that introduced me to Geoff 3 years ago in April. I was hooked right away and immediately joined his Patreon. It was my first time joining a Patreon as well. Two weeks later I found out he was bass singer for Voiceplay. Watched their Dragonborn Comes Skyrim video. Was hooked and joined their Patreon. Same with Pattycake Productions. Villains Haunted Mansion was my introduction to them.
It can be difficult when you're expecting one thing, and a song has been reinvented into something a bit different. I've had a few instances where, upon first listen, I didn't care for the changes Geoff (or VoicePlay) made to a song because I was expecting something closer to the original. However after a few listens I nearly always warm to them, and can appreciate the differences. That said, music is entirely subjective and personal, and if it doesn't speak to you, then it just doesn't. Personally, I love Bill Withers' original track, and I also love Geoff's cover, but for different reasons. But thanks for your honesty, and for listening to Geoff's music.
Thanks for your genuine and honest reaction. I love Bill Withers but never cared for this song because I found it a bit too repetitive and liked the way Geoff did the "I Know..." section here. I agree that it is not as soulful musically as Bill Withers song but he captures the heartbreak in a different way (we joke and say "it's ok Geoff, Kathy only went to the grocery store). While I like this one, it is not my favorite Geoff solo but there are so many and I always appreciate his creativeness and the risks he takes on his covers.

I appreciate your truly honest reactions! 👍 Plus the fact that music and all arts are subjective. Happy Saturday!
