I remember that when I played Plague of Shadows the first time and get to the Explodatorium, I got in rage with my assistants when they told me that there was an intruder on the Explodatorium, so I went as fast as I can to the end of the stage (getting everything of course) and when I encountered Shovel Knight, I was like "Of course he's the intruder, who else could it be?" ha ha
Man, this and Treasure Knight's theme both sound like they belong in a Megaman game, they're both so well made!

I love that this entire game teaches you how to play while you're playing it without shoving tutorials up your ass. My older brother who doesn't care for retro games was forced to play the first level of Shovel Knight and he beat it! He even discovered shit I didn't even know! Like the second half of the Village, I didn't even know that was there!
Many older games do this, level 1-1 of the original Mario Bros is a great example.
Doing this is way harder than slapping a Textbox on the screen, but it is way better!

@@NeedMoreMushrooms a modern example would be hollow knight, theres a tutorial level but it teaches very barebone mechanics in a way that doesnt pause the gameplay, after that everything u learn yourself

I feel like Plague Knight is better for Smash from an undeveloped point. He already has possibilities for recoveries, side specs, and the like, but more importantly, he's just so dang cute.

You may hear a creepy and well composed song, all I hear is stress. Lots and lots of STRESS.
Antimony sounds like some rad super power or fantasy concept, seeing/hearing this without playing the game or knowing much of chemistry. Antimony is a metal, guys. It's literally on the periodic table, it has an atomic number of 51.
I know it's been seven years, but the relation to the game from the title is that antimony can be incredibly explosive when mixed with the right materials and Plague Knight uses chemistry mostly to make bombs, but the "flowers" part helps inform the musical style and also kind of Plague Knight as a person.

rixor12 though plague knight would be an awesome assist trophy and is not as porular as shovel knight i think he's be way more enjoyable to play and have a far better move pool with all the variety in his normal gameplay
Plague Knight as an assist trophy would make more sense. I just don't see him as a fun character to actually play as for Smash bros, he's too projectile based. Shovel Knight on the other hand, would probably be perfect for a new character. They already have perfect theme music to put in for his potential stages

she made the entire soundtrack and sound effect of megaman 1 on NES! she didn't compose a lot of soundtrack, but she did great thing! She composed U.n Squadron too, and nitro man from megaman 10! She'll be doing the soundtrack of mighty No. 9 and heart forth alicia

There's a bit of distinction between the music written by Jake and the ones written by Manami. Jake tends to add a bit of flare, while Manami makes them sound a little more authentic.

for some reason this theme stood out from the other themes and scrooge knight was the only one that really gave me a lot of trouble. I died like six to seven times facing him.

Personally I'd use a DAW with chip synth plugins.
And by that, I mean that's what I actually do, I'm just not very good at it. Yet. :P
The thing about working in a DAW is that you can use compressors and other plugins that can richen up a sound but not alter it heavily. I *think* that's what's going on here, as the 8-bit music in Shovel Knight already isn't console accurate to any console I know due to going well over the max polyphony. So it wouldn't really be pushing it much further to make stuff a bit more crispy with FX plugins.
+GravianS o this soundtrack was actually written in famitracker. the reason it's allowed to have more polyphony is because it uses the vrc6 expansion chip, which was a thing in some japanese nes games that added some extra sound channels

If Nintendo bought Shovel Knight, then yea, Knight would be more likely, especially because he's more recent.

I think it's more of the association. Mighty No 9 isn't regarded nearly as well as Shovel Knight.
