He recently starred alongside Mark Ruffalo, Julia Roberts and Jim Parsons in the critically acclaimed screen adaptation of “The Normal Heart” for HBO directed by Ryan Murphy and based on the Tony Award-winning stage drama of the same name. @@florencemaerki right? I had watched The Normal Heart years ago, but when I saw Fellow Travelers had no recollection that he was Felix! Least of all that he got his start in soaps.
Same here! :) Since then I've been watching the movie/tv show in a row (starting with Flightplan 2 x 20 seconds :D )
He's not just a pretty face, he's talented and also a great family man!!
I absolutely agree, he’s also highly intelligent with a great command of the English language and his total dedication and commitment to acting is phenomenal. He researches every project to the enth degree which is why he’s such an incredible actor, let’s be honest, he really is the most handsome man who has no airs and graces, au contraire, he’s humble, gracious and charming and a wonderful singer, husband and family man. I so look forward to seeing him in many future projects. Can you tell I’m a huge fan?

He played the part of Felix brilliantly, it was one of the very best films I have ever seen, it had me sobbing and really taught me a lot of what the victims of HIV/AIDS really go through. I’m full of admiration for Matt, he’s an amazingly talented actor as well as being a thoroughly lovely, genuine man who gives his all to every role he plays.
What a great interview! Matt is always so well-spoken, thoughtful, and generous to colleagues and crew alike. He's a joy to watch in whatever he does. I hope that he will be given more opportunities to showcase his talent.
You can tell how much the role of Felix meant to him. He went above and beyond to do justice to this role, which he totally delivered! I love how charismatic and down to earth he is. I wish all the best for him and hope he gets more roles in the future that gets his heart pumping as much as the The Normal Heart. Love Love Matt Bomer!!
Update for the uninformed: Matt won the Golden Globe, the Critics' Choice Television Award AND the People's Choice Awards for his amazing portrayal of Felix Turner in "The Normal Heart." He has been a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation since his 20s.

Matt Bomer is so incredibly intelligent.
Matt is an absolute delight whatever the role. I'm happy that he's finally getting recognized as the consummate actor that he is.He is always supportive and complimentary of his fellow actors, and just seems to be a sweet, kind, caring person. Thanks for posting this haven't gotten half through it yet, my phone and tablet are not cooperating. love listening to him and, of course, seeing that smile And I've watched TNH at least 20 times, and will watch many more. It was beautifully done.
Wow . . . this is excellent! Bomer is intelligent, articulate, engaging, funny; Peikert knows exactly when to sit back and let his guest speak and when it's appropriate to pose a question. Best celeb interview I've seen in quite a while!
God how did they think they he would not suit Neel cafree. I have just started watching white collar and no one would have played Neel cafree than him .I am a new white collar fan from India 🇮🇳🙏❤️

Matt I lived through that entire period and lost almost every single friend. I can tell you that you killed tbis role. It took me back like way back emotionally. It was perfect.
That was a wonderful interview ! Matt was so much more open and sharing than in his regular TV interviews. It was like he really showed his personality by cracking jokes and swearing. So many anecdotes, it was fantastic !
Thanks for posting. All of Matt's interviews reveal him to be a thoughtful, intelligent and sensitive man. Glad to see that it appears he will not be type cast as the beautiful hunk from WC that is only suited for lighter roles. His turn in the TNH was simply amazing.
Neal was more than a beautiful hunk...Under the charming con man persona was a damaged, lost boy who never felt loved or like he belonged anywhere...He had a heart of gold and fell in love so hard, and was repeatedly hurt and kicked when he was down...How Neal could even hold his head up after believing in someone and being crushed again and again...Watching the plane explode & burn and the woman he loved die, or believing in his father and wanting his father in his life since he was five years old then finding out that he had been conned & watching his father walk out on him for the second time...All of his emotions come through Matt's beautiful, expressive eyes...
May I request that you watch "White Collar" again, and really WATCH Matt?? I think you will be surprised...
A British Neal in his 40’s would have been a total disaster. It would definitely not been the same and was much better with a young, good looking charismatic guy
he is amazing actor..such a nice person and hard working... after watching this I love him more... always pleasure to watch him smiling....😚😍

Wow, what an incredible interview which revealed so very much about Matt’s absolute dedication to playing the role of Felix with such tremendous authenticity. As always he gives so much praise to the commitment Ryan Murphy gave to directing The Normal Heart and the help he gave him which contributed so much in making this movie so compelling to watch and his wonderful collaboration with Mark Ruffalo making this movie the most wonderful love story ever told. Matt is so very talented and dedicated and I am so full of admiration for all the research he does to make everything he plays so very special.and worthy of all the accolades and awards.

What a lovely, talented and insightful actor. Watching this was a real treat.
The advice that Matt gives aspiring actors (45:00) is reminiscent of the wise words that Laurie Anderson gave a graduating class of young artists. She said "No one is ever going to ask you to do the thing you really want to do." You have to do what you know you are capable of doing.

What a beautiful man. Doesn't have a terribly wide range as an actor. But still gorgeous.
I couldn’t disagree with you more. He’s hugely talented and has played so many differing roles, I.e.Neal Caffrey in White Collar, Felix Turner in The Normal Heart, Sean in Papi Chulo, Donald in Boys in the Band, Freda von Rhenburg in Anything, Jamie Burns in The Sinner, Ken in Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL, Walking Out, Traveller, American Horror Story, etc, etc, all such very different, diverse roles which really demonstrate what an incredibly talented actor he is with an extremely wide range. I think that perhaps you haven’t seen him in all of the projects I have listed or your opinion would be different.

That's a great show. Young Matt already showed his talents back then. 2007 I think? So sad the show was canceled only after one season 😢

I love Matt. Only role I've seen him is is Tommy Boatwright from the Normal Heart. What a fab actor! And what a great show! I balled my eyes out when Ned asked his partner Felix to marry him! On Felix's deathbed no less!

I'm shocked at how effeminate he is in real life. (I'm gay as well, I'm not trying to be rude it's just an observation.) Just proves he's a great actor to pull off his White Collar and AHS characters so well.

The thing I love about Matt is that he doesn't "swish," he doesn't lisp or act "thithy," and when he's onstage or on camera, he doesn't swing his ass (except for what is necessary); he doesn't TRY to act sexy - he just *IS*...His sexuality is a part of him, like breathing...I think it's BECAUSE he's gay; he is sensitive, in touch with his feminine side, and understands & appreciates women...This is why he's such a beautiful, romantic lover as Neal, or as Felix, or whomever he's playing...These so-called "Real Men" should take lessons from gay men...
And yet in one of his first stage performances, "Villa America," Matt played Ernest Hemingway...You can't get much more "macho" or "Alpha Male" than Hemingway, who once said, "...All I need is a good meal, a good drink and a good fuck..." The critics praised Matt's "animal magnetism"...
I don't find him effeminate at all. I'm a straight woman but he is the same in all the interviews I have seen.
He hadn't been drinking...He had just left the set of "White Collar" after a lonnng day of work, and he's emotionally fried and physically shot-to-hell...He needs a good dinner and a couple of days' sleep... He's not effiminate (Have you seen him in "AHS": Hotel?? He's a hard-ass...He's just very articulate and has studied public speaking and pronouncing words...
