    So my Dad is sick and he's only going to be 60 and probably won't make it 6 months... I spend longer times w him learning all i can.. a lot of time together anytime that I can get. He's taught me how to wire 12" amps n Sub in my car and now I got a new car no RC the back of the factory stereo. what nooooo. F@@# i maybe a girl but i like doing this ...hello feel dumb sometimes... but I just wanted to say that the very end of the video when you remembered about having the remote wire, is what I needed to hear that was the information I needed. thank you so much you're appreciated hope you guys have a wonderful day everyday!!!

    Thank you this is good to know. I'm actually trying to get the same. I have a 2010 Lincoln MKX with THX Audio. I want to keep my factory head unit. I've been doing some researching and I thought I wanted a skar audio SPX 65C for my doors. But now I'm back to square one. From what I'm understanding I am looking for something with great SPL ratings (at least upper 90's) and mids that would give me decent bass as well as highs. If I could find voice speakers with 300RMS I think I would get those. Skar audio is rated at 200 RMS and I believe at 40ish to 20k Hz. But they don't list the SPL. It does list sensitivity at 92db (I'm not sure if that is the same thing as SPL or not). But when I look at other brands like Hertz, DS18, Sundown their numbers seem to be great in one area and lacking in another. Then this leads me to getting a sub. It was suggested that I get a 5 channel amp but I have zero idea which one nor what sub. I will definitely have to get a prefab enclosure since my craft building skills is complete shit. I checked on Crutchfield and alot of car audio sites. They all list customer rated items but it would be nice if they could "suggest" what amp and what sub would work best. didn't know anything about this 4 channel piece I would need. When I do eventually settle on a car install ompany at least I'll know now to see what they will do to bypass my factory radio.

    Good video as always, but I want to further this discussion. I have a '17' Camry with the factory JBL sound (Factory touch screen head unit with NAV). The front cabin of the car sounds great; and the factory woofer(s) gives it a nice boost, but I want to add a little more. I want to replace the rear 6x9 in the back deck with 2 nice after market 6x9's and also add 2x 10"subs for some more added bass.
    The main goal here is to be able to run the bass setting on the head unit in the negatives to increase the clarity of the high's / mid's at higher volumes and increase the gain on the sub's amplifier for the added bass from the subs.
    Current looking to do:
    2x new 6x9's in rear deck on their own amplifier
    2x new subwoofers on their own amplifier
    2 gauge power wire with 1 farad capacitor ran to a 2 way distribution block.
    With using this type of setup, should I run to LOC's?
    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    What setup would you recommend for truest, monitor like, experience in a Subaru BRZ _without_ installing a subwoofer? I am far more interested in detail in my music and not so much thumping base.
    I listen to a large variety of music, some of my favorites are NIN, Aparat, Moderat, Dredg, Booka Shade, Modest Mouse, Pink Floyd, but really most things I will listen to and appreciate at some point. Pop and Rap less frequently so than others.
    Even more specifically I will be installing a Nexus 7 -> USB DAC -> Fiio TAISHAN-D03K -> Clarion EQS746 -> ???? some amp -> ???? some speakers into the car and would really appreciate some suggestions on the last two things in that equation. You've already convinced me that I should sound dampen the doors (floor?). Thank you!

    @LIFT4POWER best advice is try facing front, up or back, and see what you like best, no 2 cars are the same, after you find the right spot usually facing back, I recommend you anchor that baby down using bolts instead of screws for antitheft

    You stated in this video that you should install the ilc to the outs of the factory amp. I believe that is completely INCORRECT due to the fact it is already an amplified line which will produce great feedback & distortion in the amp lines. I am no installer but I'm pretty sure that is a golden rule when it comes to installing these converters. thanks!

    • @MrMd5555
      @MrMd5555 3 роки тому

      I'm no installer either, just a backyard diy'er but my understanding is the Loc will basically drop the factory signal to a more suitable & more flattened level before going into your aftermarket amp hence the logic behind tying into the factory speaker wires signal AFTER all factory amplification, tying an loc in before factory amp would drop signal level just to boost it right back ... as always, don't take my advice, I could be wrong

    Thanks for the video guys. I have a Wrangler 430 radio factory and would still like to use it. I bought some polk audio speakers to fit in the roll bar and front dash. The issue I'm having is the powered subwoofer I just bought to put under my chair. I bought a LOC 2 channel, I need to splice that into the wiring harness behind the stock radio. Where do I get the wiring template to see what goes where?

    I tried to put this question on your page but it said as I was about to submit that it had a error. I have had other car/trucks in past they have been simple for install in my mind. Easy trunk or under seat setup. But I have a 2009 sebring touring convertible car now. In trunk of the car has a piece that can fold up and down to hold the convertible top. When the top is up you can fold plastic piece up to gain more trunk space. Nice feature but now that I would like to install a sound system I don't know were the amp and sub will go. I also would like to keep factory head unit but everything else new speakers sub and amp. Powered everything. I want to keep factory head unit because it has. Six disk changer built in. Also I have heard it is a pain to go to aftermarket head unit In my vehicle. I would like a great sound system. Bc unlike my other cars this car is built for cruising. I would like to have a great sounding system with top down or up.

Does tying into your factory speaker outputs with that signal level converter change the impedance that the deck sees on that wire? If not, how does it do that? I ll be using the factory radio on 2015 accord
    Whats the use of the highs and lows on the line out convertor
    From 1 line out converter that has 4 rca,
    is it ok to power up 1 four chaner stereo or 1 two chanel stereo (for 4 speakers) and 1 mono block for the subwoofer.
    If i m using all 4 rca comming out of 1 line out convert to run the 4 channel stereo amp, and i wna add 1 mono block amplifier for the subwoofer, is it ok to take the rca line out from the stereo amp(located on the stereo amplifier) and use that as an input for the mono block amplefire.

It sound great 1-18 volume but after 18 volume my door speakers cut out and the bass continues to play. And also with the door speakers they whine with the acceleration of the motor. I need help!

    guys Im a newbie and have a 2000 crown Vic. Long story short my amp have been playing fine but suddenly it went into protection mode. I've tried loosening everything and putting it back. When I unhooked my rca Jacks the protection light went off. Note strangely when I move my power wire around (with the car off) the protection mode light comes on???? I'm lost!

    Question:
    In a car utilizing the trunk, do I face my sub box to the rear or to the front. The enclosure is ported. Which position would sound best in my sedan?

    • @RWL2012

      Try both positions to find out which sounds best.

      Thats one of the things you can do really really easy, every car is different, just flip the box around and blast it until you find your sweet spot.

    • @hueovs

      More than likely, facing the port to the back will produce the best output but you can try both ways. Make sure you leave some room in between the trunk and the port

      If you seal around your box with it facing the front of your car so all the bass and air flow stays in the front of vehicle you will be louder then facing it to the rear

    • @splash5974
      @splash5974 7 років тому +1

      Raul Aguilar
      they already explained this in the vid!
      this ties into your speaker wires...
      your not cutting any signal going to speakers...
      if the headunit runs the speakers, splice in anywhere between headunit and speakers...
      if vehicle has a factory amp, splice into wires coming out of the amp...
      these just convert the signal to a low level RCA to feed input signal into your amp

    Where can I find wiring diagram for outputs on factory amp. I got a 07 Pontiac torrent with 7 speaker system.

    • @write2rc
      @write2rc 8 років тому

      +giftman20 ---you don't need a wiring diagram, all you need is a meter and some different ohm resistors, place a different resistor for each speaker wire at the speaker and then meter the wiring harness at the stock stereo or stock amp and with each different resistance you read on the meter you can identify each pair, then use a AA or AAA battery to find your polarity.
