Fire Emblem Three Houses is today's surprise, the theme: God Shattering Star, is a majestic and apocalyptic masterpieces that takes us from heaven, to hell. This has to be one of the most pleasant orchestra surprises I've had lately!
This is merely for review, analysis, breakdown and constructive criticism purpose, I do not claim the audiovisual product I reacted to as my own.

God Shattering Star is one of 3 final boss themes in Three Houses, or 4 if you include the DLC. The others are "Funeral of Flowers," "Apex of the World," and "At What Cost?".
The Long Road: Am I a joke to you?
@@sealytheseal8417 Yes.
Yes? @@sealytheseal8417
Couple of quick notes:
It technically isn't a boss theme, but rather the theme of the final "level" of one of Three Houses' routes. It should also be mentioned that what you listened to is a mashup of both the map and in-combat versions of this song as Three Houses utilises a dynamic soundtrack for it's core gameplay segments. If you want to listen to either version seperately, I'd recommend looking up the Thunder version for the instrumental, more harmonised segments from this and the rain version for the vocals. Another very good final map theme from Fire Emblem would be "Twilight of the Gods" from FE15
Its "Apex of the world"'s turn now.
Btw the boss of this ost Is basically screaming in the last lyric "I AM THE GOD SHATTERING STAR", its so fucking cool
Here’s the lore for the track (spoilers obviously, and I absolutely recommend playing Three Houses, for this track it’s the Golden Deer route)
The Singer here is the Boss himself, Nemesis, the King of Liberation. Over a thousand years before the games start humans decided to rebel against the goddess that ruled the world, and she absolutely destroyed them. The few survivors retreated underground and founded the city of Shambhala. The goddess got really tired from fighting so much touch, so she went to sleep in her Holy Tomb. However, Nemesis and his guys found her body and killed her, making her spine and heart into The Sword of The Creator, wich the Player character wields in the game, while Nemesis himself wields a cheap imitation. Some time later they came back and massacred the remaining worshippers of the goddess. Saint Seiros killed Nemesis and defeated his army (this is how he lost the original sword), and the last of the Shambhalans went back to Shambhala. Those left on the surface then went on to create Fodlan as it is over a thousand years.
The best thing about this track is that it’s the most epic track of the game, but the guy you are fighting is arguably the least epic guy in a power sense of all the bosses in this game. You have a holy warrior, an Empress or a King to fight in the other routes, Nemesis himself was a *Bandit* before he became the King of Liberation. And yet this is his theme, because it’s from his perspective, and he is the most ambitious character in the game and has no doubt in his mind that he is the hero of the story. The lyrics are him giving a speech to his followers, ending with *“I AM THE GOD SHATTERING STAR!“*
I´ve watched many people react to this song, just because I love it so much.
I can tell, you with all the different backgrounds everyone has, all manage to point out something cool or nice that I didn´t originally notice. I truly reminds me everytime just how much happens here, so well executed.
I liked that you really tried to picture the story telling or scenario each part made you feel. While in game it is a bit different, you are completely spot on about the feelings you get with each part.
Liked your vid!
Actually in Fire Emblem Three Houses, there's two versions of every battle theme. There's one for the map, and another for the fighting animations and I think this one was a mix of them
The battle themes in Three Houses actually consist of 2 entire versions of the song, one for the map and one for actual combat and they switch seamlessly from one to the other, so this version is a mix of both (the Opera voice is the map theme and the more aggressive trumpets are the combat theme)
Very glad you chose to check this out, your reaction to it seemed exactly how I felt when I first listened to it. Even though this particular video isn't exactly how it plays out in game as other people have mentioned, it's such a good mix imo, and the song in general is such an epic and cathartic experience.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses is my favorite game and favorite soundtrack. The entire OST is a banger (as are the remixes on the Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes game) but this is probably the most complex song. It’s so epic and awesome and feels like it takes you on a whole journey. Other to check out that I love are Blue Skies and a Battle, Between Heaven and Earth (these two play off each other a lot), Apex of the World, Fodlan Winds, and honestly all the battle themes.
From Three Hopes I love what they did with the Ashen Demon theme because it takes the familiar leitmotifs from Three Houses but changes them partway through to make it seem off and wrong which fits what is going on in the game (a branching timeline “what if” scenario for Three Houses) so perfectly. Just epic music all around with Fire Emblem.
You should listen “The Apex of the World”, “A Vow Remember”, “Blue skies and a Battle”, and “A star in the morning sky”. Also Fire Emblem Three Houses songs
I have been on a Three Houses music reaction spree recently - I think your mix between assessing the emotion and describing the musical craftsmanship is most appealing.
Found you through Guilty Gear, but Fire Emblem is my #1 favorite franchise so seeing this is amazing
Just finished watching some of your older stuff and was about to recommend this one haha. So awesome this came out. Love your reactions.
This is a total guess from my part, but I personnaly owned a fire emblem-type game called Golden Sun on the gameboy advanced, which might be the game you are refering to at the start of the video. Also, great video and analysis !
Three Houses OST is full of bangers
this song is the definition of epic. it has all the grand over than life aspect in it. loved your reaction and how you got so much into it. amazing as always continue like that. also the "this song is more stairway to heaven than stairway to heaven" really got me cracking up xd
i highly suggest listening to Fodlan Winds, Edge of Dawn Seasons of Warfare, and Apex of the World together in that order. they all fit together BEAUTIFULLY
It is a very interesting choice by You. And I am very curious about decompose this song and learn it! Thank you very much!
Oh thats a nice suprise, would be cool to see a reaction to Twilight Of The Gods, from Fire Emblem Echoes.
Some other good ost's from fe3h are "Funeral of Flowers" and "Apex of the World"
Thank you for reacting to this.
Three houses has a fantastic soundtrack
Wow its great to see this reaction without it being a patreon request cause now i dont have to do it myself
Also as other people are saying id recommend just listening to one of the versions of the song probably rain version
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS
GOD SHATTERING STARRRR
This song is great, although this is an edited version of it. I have a hard time picking between this and "Apex of the World" as my favorite track of Fire Emblem Three Houses.
I BEG you to listen to twilight of the gods, from a way older game, but also an INCREDIBLE song
minor spoilers for part of the game
the language this is sung in is a made-up language for the game, sung by the person you're fighting as a speech to his followers, ending in the name of the song adding more power to it
11:09 climbing… to the apex of the world?
I highly recommand you check out some OST of Fromsoftware games, like Bloodborne, Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Sekiro, etc. They’re all great !
No one requested this?! How? Sheesh common comments section step it up lol
It's funny how you said this music had to be for fighting and slaying something divine; you're actually fighting the biggest bad that basically fought and killed God.
yeah, its just that guilty gear fever is real
Why do so many reactions end up reacting to this weird mix of the Rain and Thunder versions. It would give a much better first impression to just start with the Rain version.
thats what im thinking
Because there's no disclaimer telling them there's two different versions??
Hell, I beat this boss and I FORGOT we had two different versions. I don't even remember what they sound like when not mixed up, for some reason my brain only makes up generic Echoes battle music when I try
I blame the trumpets
Helloo! Is there gonna be another Undertale/ deltarune réaction video?? Would be great !
I don’t know why people upload this video when they want people to react to God Shattering Star. It’s edited to hell and back.
Cause it sounds good, no need for more reason than that
@@thetrash6033 It doesn't sound better than the original and breaks up the flow constantly, it's miserable. Theres a reason the devs have the original in the game with the other version playing at the same time when you make attacks and not a garbage mash of both version playing one after another. I hate it when people react to this one as their first viewing.
@@Fibah still sounds good though, and it has more views, when you search it up, that's the one that appears first, people tend to click the first recommended video when searching for a song
@@thetrash6033 Yes, indeed, the fact that it has the most views is the only reason all these reaction youtubers click it and it frustrates me. All these music enjoyers get their first experience ruined instead of hearing the song the way it was meant to be heard for the first time.
How do these reactions ALWAYS manage to pick the Thunder version? You listen to the Rain version 🙄
