By far this is my favorite what my toddler eats in a day video. Because it is realistic and simple. A lot of mothers can relate struggling with feed our children. Other UA-camrs do a lot of scratch baking and cooking and are very creative with meal ideas and that's not always realistic for everybody.
I'm right there with you, meal planning & meal times are a big source my anxiety too. I can't help but feel like a failure when my kiddos won't eat. At least I know I'm not alone. You're doing great, mama. 💗
It’s easy said then done. My son is extremely picky. He will starve himself if you give him things he doesn’t like. As a mom no one wants to see their child go to bed without eating. We always try our best.
@@esthernyango-biyo8731 my boy is the same. Ill give him a home cookedeal and he would rather starve or ask for a cup of milk ;( so o give in and make him one of the few he will eat
Some things that help when feeding my toddlers are putting a small serving of a new item on a plate with other stuff they like, telling them they don't have to eat it, but it's there if they want to try it. Also asking them to feed a new food to me. They enjoy this and will often then try it as it's in their hand. Sometimes just getting them to touch it is a success. I think of it as "sprinkling" just a little at a time expose them to new foods. Never any pressure.
I was fairly picky as a child and so was my mom. One thing my mom would do to make sure I didn’t end up as picky as her is when I would refuse to eat something, she would make me take one bite. After one bite, if I didn’t want it, I didn’t have to eat it. I wouldn’t get something else unless I tried one bite of the food and this allowed me to realize if I truly liked the food or not
You are doing a great job! I have a suggestion for exposing her to new foods. I know you are so busy getting her food ready before you start your own and probably don’t sit down to eat the same time they do. But if you do find yourself eating at the same time, put a little bit of what your eating on her plate. Don’t say anything about it. Just offer it and leave it alone. Your job is to offer the food, her job is to eat it. As long as you’re offering it, your job is done. Don’t spend time or energy pleading with her to eat it. All that to say, I have a 1yo who cries through every meal. So probably don’t listen to me. 🙈
I’ve tried that with my nephew in the past. I left a broccoli on his plate and his mom told me he doesn’t like vegetables. Well me eating my broccoli he suddenly ate his and said “yum” its because the broccoli was seasoned with soy sauce as sesame seed. Flavors plays a critical component for kids.
@@Evalauj02 I think it was because someone other than his mom offered it. Sometimes they do that. My sister kids would listen to me for certain things for the excitement and vise versa.
I have the worst eater you can imagine he literally eats little to nothing and gets out of food he’d normally eat very easily when I try to give him something new he won’t even taste it! 😩 I’m so confused and frustrated as to how I can fix it he very rarely eats 3 times a day
I just finished reading the book "French Kids Eat Everything" by Karen Le Billon - the struggles that she goes through trying to feed her North American children were very relatable. The French have a very different approach to feeding children and it was a really interesting read!
My child was the same way until I went to work when she was 4 and she went to daycare and seen other kids eating different things. That's all it took. Now she is such a great eater.
@@alexusprince8527 also try showing him options in the store and ask "wow looks yummy, would ypu like to try this?!" And also letting them expierement in the kitchen. Ive been doing this witth my son who has texture and food aversions and its been working so well! I was given this advice by a friend who is a food tharapist that helps with food aversions and picky eaters. And my son is a week shy of being 2, and he is loving havong some control over his food.
My daughter has been in daycare for about 2 months now and daycare has not improved her eating habits unfortunately 😢. Now I am forced to pay for daycare and have pay to extra food for her to eat at the daycare! I thought it would change her eating habits but it hasn’t
The struggle is real. My one year old is not into it either. And I love food. But patience is key, it’s at her pace. Let her cook with you, let her touch food and explore it. She may not eat it but hopefully it’ll spark her curiosity. And then as she gets bigger she’ll start trying more. Just keep her involved, her palate will change. As long as she’s fed it’s good. Love you and your videos and your lovely family!
I love seeing little updates when Riley will allow more into her list of foods she will eat. You’re very creative and always give her the chance to try new things. Good job mama 👏🏻
My 4-year-old is extremely picky. Watching your video made me feel so much better about the way I piece his meals together. I know eventually he will try new foods, so I try not to stress about it too much. Thanks!
You are certainly doing the best you can for her Kayla! One suggestion could be to make a social story for Riley about trying new foods, including real photos of her. Another is to continue to put a new food on her plate at least once a day, maybe at dinner when you and Joe and maybe Jackson are eating the new-to-Riley food, with the expectation that she won’t have to eat it. Yes, she may throw a fit for a while but if you are consistent she will learn. Another tip is to try to eat one meal together as a family every day. It will probably help Riley someday too if she can go to school or have play dates to see other kids her age eating a variety of foods.
This was so helpful for me. My son has been refusing EVERYTHING! It's been giving me anxiety and making me feel like a bad mama but this made me feel a lot better so THANK YOU!!!
Give her a reward for trying something you know she will love. Like a toy or an activity that you know she absolutely loves. That’s how I would get my daughter to try new things and we would also make it a big deal and cheer for her and clap for trying it and she liked the attention. Hope it works for you
Kayla, I'm going through something similar with my 1 year old. He has been in early intervention his entire life anyway, but they are starting to think that he has a sensory processing disorder. There are more than one type, but with children that are overstimulated can be extremely picky eaters. I have been following your channel for about a year and have watched all the way back to when Riley was a baby and honestly it may be something you should bring up to her pediatrician? Maybe get an evaluation with an OT or feeding specialist? Couldn't hurt. Reason I bring it up is because in more than one of your videos loud sounds also bother her. Before anyone says why am I bringing up diagnosis, I have a special education license and work with this type of stuff all the time.
I’m going through a similar thing with my 2 and a half year old son. He is smart like Riley , talks a ton you would never know there was a sensory issue until it comes to food and certain behaviors if you know what to look for. My background is Early Childhood Education so I knew the signs. I’m relieved in our case we are finally making progress. I think a lot of parents just assume behaviors like picky eating , fear of loud noises is normal many times it is and nothing to worry about. However, not always. It never hurts to get an evaluation just Incase.
My word!!! I was watching you when I was pregnant then in the early days witj my little one in 2019. Since then I just don't have time to stop! I cannot believe how grown up Riley is. I remember how much she used to talk at 1 years old. Hope all is well. My little one is pulling the handbrake and we not big cookers so here to get some ideas. Thanks!
My kiddo is really picky too and I know the struggle is real! If they only knew how much we cared about their development and nutrition haha. You’re amazing and doing a great job lady!!
I totally understand your concerns! But, I gotta give you props; I honestly think you're doing great! The fact that she loves so much fresh fruit, is willing to eat peas, and you're able sneak in veggies elsewhere is good. Also, she eats yogurt, drinks her milk, takes peanut butter/almond butter, and takes chicken occasionally is awesome as well! The only thing I can say that I have done with my kiddos is to just offer them different things for exposure and even if they don't seem interested or like it, I'll try again the next day or so to peak their interest and I don't sweat it if they're not interested. I know we Mama's try so hard to give our children the best, I think you're doing great, and I'm sure her food palette will expand as she grows. 🤗
Shredded carrots or zucchini (squeeze excess water after shredding) are other vegetables easy to sneak into baked goods. Another tip is to eat together, it really helps. And finally you could try giving her iPad and fruit once she finishes her veggies/ protein. This will be a little harder but it’s good for her. All the best mama!
I was an incredibly picky eater as a child. In Europe, it was common to just have what you are given, and if you dont want it, maybe you will eat what you get at the next meal. So in daycare and 1st grade I was often picking at my food because I hated it, but that's all we got and that was my chance to eat. If I didnt want it, then I wasnt hungry enough. And if I was, then I ate what was in front of me, whether i liked it or not. I have now grown up to be the most adventurous foodie and struggle to keep weight off because I just love to cook and eat 😅 So there is hope for her yet!!
I have a very similar toddler too. He’s 2 years old and the good thing with Riley is she eats fruits. My toddler won’t eat anything fruit and veggies in it’s regular form unless it’s a smoothie. You’re still lucky mamá. Thank you for sharing 😍
The two most stressful parts of parenting I think are sleep and eating. My daughter just turned two. Her meals look incredibly similar to yours, and she almost never tries anything new. For my baby, I’ve found it’s all about timing. If she’s in a good mood, and is in a positive ‘go get ‘em’ state of mind, she is much more likely to try a bite of a new food. Otherwise it’s always a no. She still loves to use a bottle to go to sleep. I shameful topic, but I’m being honest. In desperation to get nutrition into her, I started putting things in her bottles. That’s how I introduced her to peanut butter. I put in plain yogurt, fruit, whatever I can find that can be blended down enough to go in a bottle. Then I cut the nipple of the bottle to be able to have it not get clogged. It’s been a good way to help me feel better, but not any help with her eating. Kids’ relationship to food has to be in real life scenarios. Not hidden in a bottle. But we all do what we gotta do! Good luck and I’m with ya!
my daughter started loving veggies because i season them.. she has always like the limony salt flavor so i add lemon peppper to asparagus, lima beans, broccoli, green beans,
You're doing a great job mama my son was extremely the same he didn't like to tray new foods but I tried to don't give him snacks and just 3 meals a day and now he eats almost everything that we eat
You are NOT alone. My toddler's palette is even more limited than Riley's. She is very picky and she has gluten, peanut and shell fish allergies. 🥴 The anxiety have over meals for her is unreal. But we make it through each day and she's happy. That's all I can ask right now. I'm about to go watch your next "toddler eat in a day video" to see if you saw any improvement in that one. Hang in there mama, and thank you so much for sharing this. ♥️
Something I heard was to get them involved in the cooking process- that way they are more excited to try as they have been involved preparing it? Hope that helps! 😘 xx
I do not think this would help here.. Riley helps in the kitchen, I remember her helping her dada with eggs they had for breakfast but she did not want to eat them anyway.. the only things she will eat are cakes she baked xD
We can see all the effort you put in to try and get Riley to eat new foods! You’re doing great and I’m sure she’ll be more adventurous with her food in the future 😊
Wow this video was a mirror to what i go through with my almost 3 year okd daughter and what i feed her. She use to do really well with veggies . Now not so much . She eats the same 5 things mostly fruits , grilled cheese and pasta
Have you tried cooking with her? I find if my son “helps” make the meal he’s more inclined to try it. But I struggle too. He’ll be 3 in April and is getting pickier every day which is new. He used to eat EVERYTHING
It’s nice to know I’m not alone in this boat. My toddler will put ANYTHING and EVERYTHING in his mouth...but not food, he rather squeeze it, smash it, toss it. It’s a struggle! As much of a blessing that WFH has been, that’s also added more stress in trying to keep this little human alive and keep up with my job. I feel like there’s never any time to just 🧘♂️ breathe. Just taking it one day at a time, sometimes an hour at a time.
I know it is hard but you could serve her plate and tell her that is her food and if she doesn’t eat it is ok but she will not eat anything else and every time she asks for food tell her it is what she will get . It is hard but I known when a kid is really hungry it will eat whatever we serve them.
Yes I try this too. I put various options in a muffin tray. So it's like a buffet and my daughter is more likely to be tempted because there's no pressure to finish it. ❤️
I was watching one of other mom on UA-cam and I liked her way to feed her child, she said that she said that she give her child food and if he is not eating eat, she takes it away, explaining to him that that was your lunch, next time we eat at dinner time. And she doesn’t give him anything to snack in between. Hunger is the best stimulator. Also read it from one child physiologist. I am trying to imply it to my child sometimes and it worked. And as others said my girl will go to my plate more often then hers, even if it is same. Go figure. 😀
I like this method also accept I hold the fruit hostage till last, my sone has to eat a good portion of other foods first, then he can have the fruit. My son is very strong willed also, so it only takes a couple of times before they realize they need to try the other foods, if he truly doesnt like it, I dont make him eat it, but he needs to take a no thank you bite!
I love this because i get so fixated on trying to feed every the SAME meal for dinner that i never thought to just give her the things that she will/does eat. smh thank you soo much for this!
Dont stress too much. They are both very healthy loved kids so something is definitly working. Theyre very cute btw. I used to fill my 'grazer' up with buttery mash potato sometimes with veg in also. Youre doing great. Thanks kayla
First of all, kudos to you! Your doing an amazing job. Going the extra mile and shape cutting her food is a mom is trying her hardest and you shouldn’t feel discouraged. Coming from a mom of 3 boys who are all slightly picky eaters, I feel your struggle. That’s why I’m on here looking for food ideas for my 2 yr old lol. We’re in this together. And yes, they do grow out of their picky stage. My 8 yr who only ate certain colored foods is now always in the kitchen snooping lol. So hang there and keep doing what your doing :)
My 2 & a half year old now eats everything. When she was a baby she ate everything and then turned picky around 1 & a half all the way up to last month. She honestly surprised me she eats things she never ate before or when she sees me eating something now she asks for some of mine. So maybe it’s just something they grow out of but don’t worry mama as long as you’re trying that’s all that matters! 💗
Do you guys eat together at a table or do Riley and Jackson always eat on their high chairs far from the table? Cause I realized that if me and my husband ate together at the table with my toddler and that we ate the same thing, he was way more likely to eat it.
My friend just discovered that if she ate with her little one, that he wanted to try what she had. Sometimes we find ourselves "too busy" to sit down with them, but its good family time. Mom and dad can share a movie, coffee and dessert time together once kids are down for the night. With kids, not so relaxing of a meal, but a good time for catching up with everyone. "How was your day, what was the best part of the day?" etc.
Yes! My 2 yr old sometimes only wants to eat off of my plate. Even if we have the same thing. Sometimes she honestly isn't hungry for a meal and I just wait until the next. If I don't eat with her I do notice she wont sit for very long or eat much unless she is really hungry. I get so much anxiety trying to find food to feed my family. Husband, 2 yr old and 7 month old. I try to offer healthy options but don't force anything. You are doing a great job offering different variety of foods and fun foods too. Feeding the hungry is a big job!
Thanks for this video and keep it up Mama 💕 I know it’s tough, trust me I have 3 picky eaters but it does get better if you keep trying! For one of my kids, we had to do food therapy since he had texture issues and one of the methods we used to help him try foods was to use the senses in a chart (look at it, smell it, lick it, take a bite) and it helped quite a bit. Try not to hide the foods , let her be aware of what she’s eating and what it can do for her (chicken gives you muscles, carrots help your eyes, cheese makes your bones strong, etc) Veggies can be in a smoothie too (my 2 year old doesn’t like veggies either in whole form) And they don’t necessarily need to eat 3 whole meals a day etc - as long as she eats a balanced diet and is growing , you’re good 👍🏻 Good luck! Riley is doing great so let her try things at her own pace 💕 Oh and I used to be a picky eater too 🙈 and now I love food so don’t worry lol
My son is 14 months and I started with blw, he did great at first but as soon as he hit a year he has been soooo picky !! Your doing your best ! Just keep trying !!
Thanks mama for the ideas! Note mamas: dry chia seeds are a potential choking risk (kids and adults) as they expand upon contact with moisture (such as saliva) and can bond together in clumps in throat/esophagus. It’s better to use them already as pudding or soaked in a liquid in advance. Sprinkling a little bit on food like on the vid should be fine. Hope this helps! 🧡
My son is so picky its brought me to tears! My daughter eats everything in sight. My son sticks to spaghetti and red sauce amd alfredo, salami, snacks foods and crackers. He used to eat cheese and even stopped that. He is off the bottle but wants milk over food. Sometimes he will chew food and spit it out as if swallowing it will make him vomit. He refuses any fruit except banana and np veggie except for corn ive tried sneaking veggies into his meal and he always knows. He isnt under weight at all but is VERY active so i feel like he needs to eat more:( he is almost 2 nd even was like this as a baby to certian textures and foods EDIT AND UPDATE so ive been letting my son cook with me (safely) and i also have been letting him pick items out af the store AND LET ME TELL YOU ITS WORKING. He has been eating so much more variety and quantity!!! Thank the lord!
So glad I came upon your page. My daughter is also very strong willed and will eat this exact way (minus the fruit 😩). This shows that I am not alone. Thank you for this I really appreciate it🙏🏾
Maybe you could try a blind-folded taste testing game with her with all the foods she does like and then throw in something new you know she will love here and there. Make it really fun!
I think your doing a great job. I have a little one almost Jaxson age, 13 months so I love watching your videos. As for Riley,, Just keep on introducing her to new food. Have you tried mashpoatoes, refried beans, eggs, avocados? Good luck mama!
My toddler was and is still very picky but he has gotten a lot BETTER because I was just over it and quit giving him the option for something different. A few days a week I would not give the option and if he didn’t eat what we ate or I cooked than he just wouldn’t eat . Eventually he realized he would be hungry and he started trying more things.
Story of my life right here! Only way to get veggies in my 20 month old is to hide them. I’ll make a smoothie with frozen fruits vanilla almond milk and spinach also rice with very teeny tiny cut up veggies. It’s definitely hectic!
My little 2 year old isn’t picky and I see your pain. Something I do is make similar dinners to my own just less seasoning. And we eat together and we always give thanks to our food, and I let her watch me eat how I eat. I am a picky eater myself but just to make my lil one eat I’ll do anything to make sure she isn’t picky. I hope the best of luck and cheering you on. Riley looks happy.
Not only was I a picky child, but so is my little sister! My mum really lucked out because we had different dads so it definitely came from her side even though she eats everything. I grew out of it around 14-15 but my sister is not there yet... goodluck mama!
The struggle is real. My 3 year old is picky but my 6 year old is even worse. I try to give them both a chance to at least try what we are eating. Its time consuming making separate meals for them. I hope your daughters eating habits expand for you soon!
Spices! Don't be afraid of spices and add them to your veggies. Amps up flavor big time. I used spices like cumin, garlic, ginger, turmeric, black pepper for digestion, cumin seeds, basil, Oregano etc. Really anything with limited spiciness ofcourse
Just a idea. If she eats things like chicken nuggets, fish fingers, shepards pie, mashed potatoe, spaghetti bologneise try to put vegetable in with the sauce and blend it in. Make your own sauces like if she eats pizza try making your own? Pizza puzzacsauce but put veggies into it and blend it so she cant taste them but u know she's still getting vegetables.
I’m new to your videos but since this video was last year, this is a suggestion for anyone and or you also is my son is 19 months old and he loves my moms spinach. She boils a bunch then drains it and puts a little pinch of salt and a little bit of sesame oil and mix it up!
You are doing a great job! Yes of course you can't force her to eat anything. I've noticed my 2 yr old likes cucumbers I think because they are easy to chew and mild in taste. We did start giving a small amount of ranch with them. She loves smoothies so I put a little spinach or zucchinis in them. Peas from the can are a good idea. Thanks!
I just prepared breakfast for my toddler and it took literally 1 hour to cook it and he took only 3 bites from it. He is a picky eater. Every day I try to cook something new , colorful, tasty, nutritious... but God ,,, nooooo he won’t eat any of them... I appreciate what you are doing 👏🏻👏🏻
My one year old is picky and I have found that he tends to try more food off my plate or if I am eating while he is playing or something versus if I serve it to him directly. Have you ever tried to just eat something near Riley while she is playing and ask her to come over and try it or something? Just a suggestion because I know the struggle! My one year old also has food allergies which make it even harder
This is exactly how my daughter is too!! She is picky for sure. I’m just here to say we mamas are not alone here. We are all on this same struggle bus together!!
Will Riley eat Mac n cheese? If so, try sneaking a little bit of sweet potato or butternut squash into Mac and cheese- those will not change the color or taste significantly- it will still look and taste like regular plain cheese sauce. Cook the pasta per usual. Blend all the sauce ingredients with a small portion of the vegetable in a blender. Drain the pasta. Add the cheese/vegetable sauce to the pasta as you normally would. Sneaky veggies! I put a handful of spinach or broccoli into my 2 year olds Mac n cheese sauce and tell him it’s “strong boy green pasta” bc it makes him “big and strong” and for some reason that works for him. But I’d try a mild yellow or orange vegetable if the green was off putting. Also, any muffin mix and add grated carrots (use a cheese grater) to the mix. You seem like a wonderful Mama. Such a lovely family! Thank you for your videos. Xo
Going through the same with my just turned 3 yo. It's tough. I'm trying to introduce new food to him in singles...like one piece along with his familiar food. He'll eventually try it after 10 attempts. It's tough and very energy consuming trying to keep the weight on your toddler before a check up haha.
If she likes mac and cheese you can hide vegetables in there pure the veggies and mix it with cheese. Works like a charm. And your an amazing mom. I always say being a mom it's a hardest job ever but I love it
Would u consider telling her that for supper every day she needs to eat what everyone else is eating and try that for a week. She may not touch the food the 1st or 2nd day but maybe on the 3rd day she would have some of it......or if that is too harsh for u, maybe for supper put one thing that she likes on her plate and add 2 things u guys r eating. Or maybe start a sticker chart for her and every time she eats something new- not just a bite, but the serving u give her, she gets a sticker and after so many stickers she gets a gift- something small like from that Target $ spot, etc. You could get really awesome stickers and a piece of pretty construction paper to put them on....right now she has no incentive to try new foods... just ideas Kayla...trying to help....my grandson hating eating when was 1-2. He would gag and struggle. But then he really liked things like burgers, tacos, pizza, spaghetti and she makes those every week.......
I think you’re doing a good job. My first two weren’t picky at all but my third is/was. She’s 2.5 now and a lot better but I totally get the struggle. I eat with the kids and mostly the same/similar to what they’re having and I think that helps a bit. I think you’re doing great offering and trying new forms of food. All you can do is your best ❤️
No advice but just want you to know that as toddlers/kids my brother and I were as picky as Riley and now he eats most things and I'll eat everything. Eventually she will eat more, even if she's picky for now! My mom had a cookbook about sneaking vegetables into everything, our taco meat always had sneaky shredded carrots in it.
Try to offer her a smoothie with her favourite fruits in but add carrot or spinach ect in with it, u can also get fruit pouches that have vegetables in them. Maybe she might like them?
My almost 2 year old boy is also SO picky! I never thought I’d have a picky kid but he is also incredibly strong willed and is not super open to new things with food, he just likes what he likes. Lately I’ve been doing popsicles that have fruit, spinach and extras like flax seeds and hemp seeds and hes loved that! Also some chocolate peanut butter muffins that have spinach in them cause you can’t taste it!
Kayla maybe try other protein sources for Riley such as beans, seafood, turkey, liver, beef? Also try different cooking methods: air fry, baked, etc. Use different spices/herbs. I think also consistency is key. When its new to them they may shy away from it, but if you keep offering they sometimes will try it.
I’d love to see Riley’s reaction to cuban food- breakfast Tostada y cafe(for her Leche con chocolate), Lunch arroz con pollo and Dinner Rice beans and steak 😂😂 Don’t forget the tres leches or flan! you should do a part in your clan where you get Riley to try new foods and tape her reaction
This is true.. sometimes anyway lol @ putting food on her plate from mine. My 2 year old would eat off my plate and enjoy herself and refuse her plate. I also put bit by bit on her plate and look away like I had nothing to do with it.. she eats as much as she would and no more. I’m super cautious about portions too.. she does not eat a lot even the things she enjoys. She enjoys porridge too. She likes peanut butter but not on anything lol. Thanks for sharing!
My daughter is about to be 2 soon and I’m having the same struggle. the foods she once loved as a baby she hates now and it keeps me up at night worrying if she ate enough during the day. All she eats is pb&j, fries (occasionally), waffles, fruit, and luckily for me she will drink any smoothie. But she won’t do any egg, beans, or meat!😭 I never had this problem with my 8 year old
Don't worry too much! I was a skinny stick and of course my mom worried and heard all the comments from her mother in law as a kid (not toddler) that I wouldn't eat but I grew out of it. Now at 36 😂 I eat everything! Riley will grow out of it just like everything else. If you can somehow ease ur anxiety of it I'm sure she feels it and the anticipation it might help! You're lucky at least u don't have to think what new things to think of to cook! My one year old eats a lot of different things and it's a challenge still to think of new stuff! Enjoy her cuteness and give her a multivitamin and call it a day! 😂🤣😕
Oh gosh how I feel your struggle. My son is 3 and still wants Mac n cheese for every meal. He likes one thing at a time then when he's tired if eating it it's my job to figure out a new thing he will eat. But like your baby, he will always eat fruits and veggies.
Good tips for feeding kids are to not pressure them to eat, if they don't eat a lot at meals the feed them more often little snacks, you have to offer something upwards of 100 times (no exaggeration) before they decide if they really like it or not and give about 5 or 6 options on the plate when possible and different colors. They did an experiment and found out kids prefer the main component to be at the bottom of the plate right in front of them with the sides all around. These are very big portions for a child that age also. They really do need much less unless they are going through a growth spurt. They won't eat the same amount all the time. Thats why its important for them to be able to tell when they're hungry and listen to their stomach cuz we really can't
I have a picky eater too! It’s hard and so stressful but I give him vitamins so that makes me feel a little better. This is going to sound bad but I just will not feed him if he does not want what I have given to him. Eventually he eats it, I leave the plate where he knows and can reach without me making him or forcing him, a couple of hours later I’ll check his plate and he has eaten some if not all. Also, when I take him outside to play he comes back and will eat anything I give him, I take him out a couple of times a day just so he can eat 🤦🏻♀️ but I mean it’s also good for him he has so much energy and I get to exercise too!
I think you’re doing great mama, don’t give yourself such a hard time. Just keep exposing her to different foods and hope something might stick. But all in all, as long as she’s eating something she fine 👍🏼
This almost made me cry. This is 100% my daughter. I thought it was just something we were going through. You’re doing great mama.
By far this is my favorite what my toddler eats in a day video. Because it is realistic and simple. A lot of mothers can relate struggling with feed our children. Other UA-camrs do a lot of scratch baking and cooking and are very creative with meal ideas and that's not always realistic for everybody.
Exactly. And even if you do lots of cooking from scratch kid ends up not eating it🖐🏻🤦🏼♀️….lot of frustration.
i am also picky
I'm right there with you, meal planning & meal times are a big source my anxiety too. I can't help but feel like a failure when my kiddos won't eat. At least I know I'm not alone. You're doing great, mama. 💗
The fact that you still do your best to make sure she has extra nutrients wherever you can get it I think is great! You’re doing a great job mama🤍
Don’t feel bad, it’s super stressful when kids don’t eat... definitely helpful seeing others are struggling as well! X
My child’s still young, but my niece was a very self assured child like Riley. When we let her help cook she was 100% more likely to try it.
That’s a good idea! 😍
My son is about to start daycare. Im hoping this will help improve his eating habits.
I hope this works for our toddler-he will start preschool at 2.5 !
My daughter has been in daycare for about 2 months now and daycare has not improved her eating habits unfortunately 😢. Now I am forced to pay for daycare and have pay to extra food for her to eat at the daycare! I thought it would change her eating habits but it hasn’t
You are doing such a great job only us moms know how much anxiety our kids not eating gives us! You are rocking this
The struggle is real.
Thanks!
Same!!! It's so hard when our babies won't eat anything 😭
You’re doing everything that I’ve tried. You have two beautiful, healthy children, don’t stress, they’re great kids!
Hope it works for you
Definitely the realest video about toddler meals. Thanks for this!!
My son has autism and holy heck mine is picky as it comes! So I get it and he does have therapists and the struggle is real.
Thanks!
Thank you Mama. My baby just turned 2 and oh my goodness. I am constantly watching videos. This video helps thank you. We will keep trying!!!
Thank you for this video as a first time mom. This video helps me to realize that I’m not alone on this journey.
My kiddo is really picky too and I know the struggle is real! If they only knew how much we cared about their development and nutrition haha. You’re amazing and doing a great job lady!!
You're doing a great job! Don't stress about it too much!
"Be my friend" - I felt that 🥲🤣
That’s crazy this is EXACTLY what my three year old eats everyday! Thank you for this! ❤️
Good luck and I’m with ya!
my daughter started loving veggies because i season them.. she has always like the limony salt flavor so i add lemon peppper to asparagus, lima beans, broccoli, green beans,
I am on the struggle bus 🤦🏾♀️and also doing the best I can. I feel everything you are saying towards the end

@@verunka1050 kids hey! They have a mind of their own! X
Very helpful thank you! Very informative video unlike others I've seen nobody ever talks about certain things
T y 5th u
I love this because i get so fixated on trying to feed every the SAME meal for dinner that i never thought to just give her the things that she will/does eat. smh thank you soo much for this!
Dont stress too much. They are both very healthy loved kids so something is definitly working. Theyre very cute btw. I used to fill my 'grazer' up with buttery mash potato sometimes with veg in also. Youre doing great. Thanks kayla
Maybe try plain greek yoghurt for breakfast as that has protein in it...its still yoghurt so maybe she wont mind... 😊good luck!
Thanks for this video and keep it up Mama 💕
I know it’s tough, trust me I have 3 picky eaters but it does get better if you keep trying!
For one of my kids, we had to do food therapy since he had texture issues and one of the methods we used to help him try foods was to use the senses in a chart (look at it, smell it, lick it, take a bite) and it helped quite a bit. Try not to hide the foods , let her be aware of what she’s eating and what it can do for her (chicken gives you muscles, carrots help your eyes, cheese makes your bones strong, etc)
Veggies can be in a smoothie too (my 2 year old doesn’t like veggies either in whole form)
And they don’t necessarily need to eat 3 whole meals a day etc - as long as she eats a balanced diet and is growing , you’re good 👍🏻
Good luck! Riley is doing great so let her try things at her own pace 💕
Oh and I used to be a picky eater too 🙈 and now I love food so don’t worry lol
Wow how are u dealing with it's very stressful????
My son is 14 months and I started with blw, he did great at first but as soon as he hit a year he has been soooo picky !! Your doing your best ! Just keep trying !!
Wow, my 2 year old daughter is the exact same way and has very similar meals Lol I’m so glad I’m not the only one.
It’s easy to judge, but all kids are different. So, the fact that you are putting an effort into it and trying your best that is what counts!
OMG I agree! Every morning I wake up with anxiety thinking what am I going to my daughter for lunch and sometimes dinner.
He isnt under weight at all but is VERY active so i feel like he needs to eat more:( he is almost 2 nd even was like this as a baby to certian textures and foods
EDIT AND UPDATE
so ive been letting my son cook with me (safely) and i also have been letting him pick items out af the store AND LET ME TELL YOU ITS WORKING. He has been eating so much more variety and quantity!!! Thank the lord!
Don’t worry mama you are doing amazing!!! She will eventually eat everything!!! It’s okay !!
Thanks!
My favorite way to get extra nutrients is using Greek yogurt for extra protein and making lots of smoothies with fruits/veggies
Cooking and feeding my toddler has become the #1 struggle in my life. My 20 month old only eats about 6-7 things.
Mama mia and i thought my kid was picky… you go mama! So creative!
So happy to know I’m not alone. It’s so hard getting my son to eat. One day he like something the next he doesn’t.
Xo
You're such a good mama! ❤️
Yes my 3 year old is a picky eater and it's hard to get him to eat something new but thank you I'll try some of your meals. It's hard
I LOVE this. My 1st born is more willing to eat different things but my last 2.... it's very hard
I’d love to see Riley’s reaction to cuban food- breakfast Tostada y cafe(for her Leche con chocolate), Lunch arroz con pollo and Dinner Rice beans and steak 😂😂 Don’t forget the tres leches or flan! you should do a part in your clan where you get Riley to try new foods and tape her reaction
in your Vlog*
This is true.. sometimes anyway lol @ putting food on her plate from mine. My 2 year old would eat off my plate and enjoy herself and refuse her plate. I also put bit by bit on her plate and look away like I had nothing to do with it.. she eats as much as she would and no more. I’m super cautious about portions too.. she does not eat a lot even the things she enjoys. She enjoys porridge too. She likes peanut butter but not on anything lol. Thanks for sharing!
My daughter was the same way. She is 10 1/2 and just now trying new things. Lol there IS hope. My boys on the other hand will eat anything.
Yogurt has a lot of protein too. That’s a good breakfast idea with the chia seed sprinkles!
My son also has issues with eating chicken!
You are doing great! I am going through the same thing with my toddlers 4 and 2 yrs old , you are a great mom 😊
Also try feeding her outside, if they are distracted with different scenery maybe she will eat more, my son does that it’s crazy
This is so much like my daughter!! It’s all fruit and noodles my daughter will eat. You are doing a great job. The anxiety and stress is real though 😬
I think you’re doing great mama, don’t give yourself such a hard time. Just keep exposing her to different foods and hope something might stick. But all in all, as long as she’s eating something she fine 👍🏼
