I remember spring in France very well. The glorious sunny days. I like the daily vlog idea as it shows your daily life, from change of plans to what is happening, remodeling your home. You and Nick, Billy, and his family. I also watch Seans channel as well. They all remind me of my 2 years there inthe U S Army, married to a French Damsel, visiting her extended family. Always interesting to know how people live in other countries. The rental market in Australia is also very competitive and rent is expensive. Country town house prices are skyrocketing as people come from the city to live the country lifestyle and housing is scarce. It can be difficult to find rentals here in the U.S. too. Most places require three times the rent in income here also. I suspect the list of requirements increased after COVID.
Really cool, Ryan. Interesting to learn more about cost of living in France. And basically to be able to compare to other European countries. Still France is cheaper to live in than the Netherlands when it comes to renting a house. Good also to point out the importance of sustainable heating and building. Retaining cultural heritage but upgrading it to modern standard is the way to keep it for decades to come! ❤
I have a 2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring and it fits more stuff in it than my friend’s new truck. Love being able to help family as well. Nothing is more Important than family. Good for you for dropping everything to come to the aid of your family.

It's great to have family you can count on. Renting may be difficult but here in Conway Arkansas, USA a 3 bed 2 bath, 1400 sq ft house, unfurnished, rents for around $1,400.00. And we are a small city of only 65,000 population. Ryan, you're a hoot and love viewing you vlogs.

I think France has gone downhill. We lived there for 9 years and only returned because my husband ended up with a work injury but we go back to see our friends every year and Gueret and Chateauxroux have become unsafe in the evenings and even during the day it’s not very attractive. Sadly for the same reason London and other cities have gone downhill. Agree on taxes, as an artisan the 47% rate was a killer. I still would move back tomorrow though as my wonderful French friends and all the Bal Trads we could go to and have so much fun. I didn’t realise renting was difficult as if you’re friends with the Mairie they can usually find you one.
