I'm having a hard time understanding how Muselk, a UA-camr who became popular through TF2, and has a fanbase of mostly people who enjoy TF2 as well, ends up getting so many comments saying, "Why is he using Zylbrad's account"...
Like, I could understand if it was a few people, but there's actually a crap ton of these comments.
Surely not this many people didn't know you can just change your Steam name at will... Right?

Not really? In the first few hours of any game you won't be that great, especially one where you need to learn about 20ish different classes (yes, TF2 has 9, but each class has 2+ playstyles, so it's kind of similar)
Plus Tyrodin did pretty well all things considered.

w1q2e3r4t5 my point was that they are not the same and that a game. maybe that tf2 might have a higher and more diverse skill ceiling then overwatch does and that there similarities don't make them that similar to play

Let me guess... they happened during the Open Beta or right after the game's launch, right? When a lot of Battle.net players who had never played an first person team shooter before (like WoW players) tried out Overwatch because it was by Blizzard. THat was not a proof of you being good, it was merely a proof of them being inexperienced and bad. I bet you don't get them nowadays, now that the WoW players have been weeded out.

Because... if it was Muselk, going into a pub would be like painting a target on his forehead and placing a "stab me" sign on his back. If you were in a game of TF2 and Muselk just happened to show up, and you could tell it was the real deal, you would want to be the spy that stabbed him, no? It's to make sure he can just play the game normally without being recognized/targeted. (It's called aliasing... lots of youtubers do it.)
