I buy Toyota Corolla GLi 2007 model in 2015 and I still enjoy the ride, Such a wonderful car. I love it.
The best thing about these cars is there durability, functionality and AC, we have 1.8 auto 2006 Altis. It's Air-conditioning is really chilling and superior, even better than the new 0 meter Corolla which we had in 2016-19.
Even in 1.8 fully loaded Altis auto, there is a ECT option, which is same as the new grande Sports Mode. Plus 1.8 auto 2006 coming with zigzag gear, it's drive and feel is really heavy, comfortable and luxury!!! Also Auto Altis breaks are much better, and the sound system is awesome having 6 inbuilt speakers along tweeters, company fog lamps, Toyota rims, Etc...

I still have this model and I am fully satisfied with this product and I also have a 2019 but 2006 is my favorite.
I have a 2002 SE Saloon. It's done around 300000 km and surprisingly still very powerful, the best part is it's AC which beats the latest Corolla air conditioner easily. I drive it daily to work and its solid as ever, no squeaks or rattles. I love it

Suneel bhai just a correction, 2.0D last came in the next gen i.e. 11th gen pre facelift 2009-10, also had a sunroof variant 2.0D SR.
@hassan@suneel munj@pakwheels for ur kind info 2.0D also came in face-lift of 11 generation 2012 model.
Although he is on Toyota's pay roll but he doesn't knows shit about cars

sir, suzuki baleno 2005 ka review kr de budget series main .. yeh gari 5.5 to 6 ki range main outclass condition main mil jaty ha ...best family sedan car ..low budget with full option..bohat achi fuel average ha .12 to 13 in city and 15 to16 on long. cng py 2 sy 3 ka farak pr jata ha..honad or corolla ka substitute ha. maintenance cost is very low almost 3k for oil filter ,air filter and engine oil.

The brakes of this car were notorious and caused many accidents. Almost everyone installed bigger tyres on them to try to improve braking
Correct - iski brakes boht bekaar thi as if it's Mehran 😂
Brakes were good road grip wasnt. Roadgrip was improved in 2006 and onward by introducing ABS in Altis and tweaking the regular variants. I had both 2004 se saloon with 4 wheel disc brake and 2006 xli with 2 wheel disc, still xli didnt slip as much as se saloon maybe due to suspension. Altis has good brakes because it was abs. Mehran ki to 2 baar brake marne ke baad paddle hard ho jata ha

Sorry suneel bhai there are a lot of corrections to be made.
1) 2.0D was available even in the next generation (10 gen E140, E150) of Corolla in Pakistan.
2) Xli and Altis were completely different except the body shape.
3) Interior Quality was different (Xli was light Plastic while Altis was dense and hard) plus the doors were so much heavy on Altis and minor parts such as locks and everything were so much different in feel.
4) Brakes were different, Suspensions and Shock Absorbents were different.
5) Ride height was different due to different engine weights.
To me Xli/Gli always been the most pathetic Corolla no matter how much they improve the quality but you'll never find Corolla having engine lower than 105 HP while xli/gli is 85 HP which is a shame. Plus the engine is so much light than the standard corolla engines used in other countries that it mess up the whole stability of the car. Xli/Gli wobbles on highway while the 1.5, 1.6 and 1.8 doesn't. Due to low weight xli has the most dangerous brakes in any car found in Pakistan, they slip like hell and from my research only the engine weight is to be blamed for that because the tire size is wide and engine weight is low so lower force per unit area which reduces grip. While wide tires will further degrade the brakes. I have used Xli 2006, 2010 and SE saloon 2003. This is what I know about these cars.

This 9th gen corolla is the best corolla ever made. Super reliable and comfortable. In India we got the Corolla in 2003, but it was only available with 1.8 VVti engine. Nowadays it's available used for 1-2 lakh rupees.
I used to work in Muscat in the Toyota dealership, there 1.3 EXI XLi and 1.8 Gli we're available similiar to Pakistan.
My dad have this car since 2004 and now it also runs good but it's for those people who just want to drive a simple car which has bad handling bad suspension bad roadgrip but good for pakistani roads

Sure had bad handling, bad road grip but not bad suspension. Try city or civic and then u will fell the difference. It's a really comfortable car
@@usama6987 bro i am telling you my dad have this car and i maintain it its gli 1.3 and sure it is very good on bumpy roads but not on highway the suspension is soft and it wobbles on road like a whale in water but i have civic and i can do sharp corners civic has 50% less body rool and stiff suspension which gives better grip on highway and better fuel economy
I have 1.8 Altis manual late 2006 model and it easily gives me 11 to 12 km/l. I drive it with heavy foot.

Few Corrections:
1) March - 2003 was launch of this shape
2) In start there were 2.0D and 2.0D Saloon were also launched
3) Picture shown at 7:03 is of next generation, while speaking of 2.0D
4) Altis 2007 had different chrome front grill
5) Altis had different wheel size than SE-Saloon and speedo meter was not calibrated, that was one fault
6) It was first Corolla to hold Altis badge in Pakistan
7) 2.0D was last offered in generation after this.

Two corrections: SE Saloon came without ABS which was introduced with the Altis.
Diesel engines continued till the next generation of corolla. This was not the last gen in diesel.
The biggest problem with pre altis models was poor brakes and my brother faced it with his zero meter corolla then. The only way to resolve it was fat tires.
Se saloon comes with ABS bcz mere pass abhi bhi 2004 hai or usme ABS brakes hain

Once I drove a 2d corolla on a long trip. Quetta to islamabad to peshawar and back to quetta. 3000kms in 10 days. Full luggage N 5 adults. The thing I loved about this car is that it is in no way under powered. Even in the mountains and climbs ac full # p rakhte hue b car did well. Fitting of parts ka masla tha,fitting ache nhi the. Brake not good. Gear se rokna parhta tha. Stability not so good. Aur 1 thought k diesel engine would be slow but I was wrong. Ye sahi responsive the, esp after 100kmh. 120 130 m to it could easily go out of control. Diesel prices k waja se 2d lost market ya to it was a favourite. Diesel 40rs per litre the us time. Avg 13 se 15 kml it gave. I was new so rpm ka khayal nhi rakha so avg ache nhi le paya but it could easily give much better avg. A good car. Even today 2 of my partners have 2d saloon.

Watching this video in 2024, i own altis 2005 1.8cc ❤,suspension, comfort, Ac are better before this i have eagle eye civic 2004 model hard top variant ,both are best but i prefer corolla ❤

It wasn't just in xli and gli. it was present in other variants as well.

Finally ...Altis reviewed .. I have 2008 model in same color (blue) .. in excellent condition never gives more than 10.5 km/l in city .. on highways can cross even 15 km/l .. it is manual and I agree with munj sb that it is a good budget car .. pakwheels used car price evaluator estimates the price below 10 lacs. . 2 lac below munj sb estimated price..
People don't prefer corolla over civic because of reliability but only because it's economical and cheap to maintain as compared to any Honda car 😊

Ahmed Mushtaq Get your air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, engine oil checked.
Get your car’s catalytic converter checked as well, it might be somewhat clogged; blocking fumes to travel out.
Do the spark plus cleaning. If they are older than 80km then replace them with top quality ones.
Check your suspension. Yes, bumpy suspension can effect your fuel economy, also risky because the braking distance will increase with old shocks. If they are older than 60km, replace them ASAP.
Always use a high quality oil for your engine. Don’t compromise on that.
