The cowboys made their bed by signing dak. Now dak is good but not worth what he is being paid and he makes it hard to win. They should have never paid dak. Then they would have had options. Now the best thing to do is sign Mike back. The ceiling is already set at 2nd round at best conference championship game
people really need to stop talking about discipline... this isn't college. We need innovation and a more in tune coaching staff that fits what the NFL is in this modern decade, better play calling and a good mix of Coordinators. McCarthy is out of date and Gruden is even worse.
@@FreddyMacT. When I talk about discipline, I ‘m thinking about SELF-discipline. The kind of self-discipline that keeps a player from making stupid mistakes, like pre-snap penalties. A little team discipline wouldn’t be a bad thing. No, it’s not college but professional athletes will still respond to a HC who believes in team-discipline. If Jimmy was in his 30’s to 50’s, his type of team discipline would STILL work. All depends on the HC and his staff.
@@Capncomeback2023 Jimmy was a good play caller above all else and he also knew talent back in the days of the no cap era. It's irrelevant to bring him up in this era, you need a brilliant coordinator above everything. One with a proven track record, atm we have coaches that are past their sale by date and that's what holds us back more often than not, that and jerry.
These guys are so scared to have an honest opinion. This teams lack of success is not on McCarthy. It's on Jerry. The philosophy of swapping coaches every few years does not equate to success.
yeah, I'm not opposed to McCarthy really. But in all honesty, do you think you win a SB with McCarthy? So you'd just be getting him for "entertainment" purposes, an 11-6 to 12-5 season and then you'd get beat in the playoffs. Also end of the day, Dak is getting older and more injury prone, so it's going to be a short window regardless of who they hire. Never mind that the crux of the problem is ownership and that's not changing.

@@popjibbletz are you seriously saying that McCarthy is going for another SB in this era, when he hasn't been back in 11+ years? Pedantic comment from such a silly guy.
I think he needs to be fired. I don’t think it’s possible for him to win a Super Bowl, no coach has ever done it with two teams, he won his 15 years ago, he’s constantly outcoached by better coaches. They were 7 point favorites in that playoff game and they were blown out. It’s time to move on. Doing the same thing again is insanity. Even if the next guy is an Urban Meyer level disaster I will not regret it. I just can’t get up for them with him here after that game. That was the closest thing to a layup of a playoff game ever. I’d rather gamble on the unknown.
But we can't even get to the SB so I don't know why people keep talking about winning the SB. Who is available right now that guarantees us a SB win? McCarthy, at least, has been to a SB. Coaches have taken different teams to the SB before. I just don't know who is available right now that gives us a better shot than MM.
@ just because he won a Super Bowl in the past doesn’t mean he’ll win one now. The game has passed him by. His offense is too antiquated. The best bet is to interview candidates and hire a first time head coach like every other team does. Like the Rams, 49ers, Lions, etc did. McCarthy was a first time head coach when he won one for the Packers. They fired him for another first time head coach and he blew us out. The Cowboys need to stop cheating the process and acting like they are above hiring a first time head coach. Yeah you might pick the wrong guy but who cares. Are you running the team to try to win or are you running the team to just be safe?
@@crater044 guarantee? there are none, Andy Reid didn't win one in Philly, but he did in KC. I would say Ben Johnson or a more modern OC to HC is your best bet. But saying that "no one" is available is just lazy thinking. That we can't win due to Jerry is an entirely different conversation.
Having signed dak, the cowboys have to be planning on bringing Mike back. What coach wants to coach the cowboys having to be stuck with Dak as their QB. He has proven he is incapable of carying this team anywhere.
McCarthy is a top 5-10 coach in this league. All of these coordinators you two keep drooling over will have the same struggles dealing with Jerrys control. Not to mention this roster will not change much due to financial restraints. McCarthy was won and can win again with the right personnel.

I've heard it said from other people but I like the idea of Jon Gruden. He's big on discipline which they need. Just my opinion
Did you watch his last coaching stint
