Not so funny now. Best of luck to you, Marcus. You're a great singer.

He didn't keep the gig. Find Marcus Scott at Sweetwater Studios doing perfect impressions of a young Al Green.

Marcus! This is a "belated" THANK YOU! Wednesday, February 15 Wichita, Kansas. Emilio dedicated "...Still a Young Man" to me on my 75th B-day and you made an old man cry. You nailed it! I've forever been a TOP lover and I feel like a real jerk for walking right past you at the bus when the wife and I first came in. I wasn't up-to-date as to the "new front line boss". I know now and hope to see you again soon. Once more thank you for the best birthday present I've had in 75 (now 76) years. I'm following you all online now. Have a few pix from that night.

Such a shame they had to let him go.

I've been a little preoccupied lately. why did they let him go? I know he's got a solo thing out.

Is it bc he was too showy? Is it bc old guy musicians can't stand a young and handsome singer who might improvise 2 or 3 notes? Their loss!

@@kathylambert3334 I searched up and down the web, even on their website.
I've 2 shows with Marcus and he was great.
Somebody said, I don't know if it's this thread or somewhere else that he developed "lead singer syndrome." I thought Ray Greene was great also and he wasn't around long either. They should try to get Larry back.

Al Cambrola, Thank you. I don't know who Larry is or was. In 72 it was Lenny Wms. I think w a large band like that w that tight a group of musicians, a vocalist is always gonna be viewed as an outsider, a kid who is to do exactly as told. Vocalists then have to understand the band is not their accompaniment. They are nothing but a servant to the band when the song has a vocal part. Tower of Power has enough brass if they wanted to play with no lead vocalist, they certainly could do that.

@@kathylambert3334 Hi Kathy. Larry is Larry Braggs who was with the group from 2000-2014. I believe he had the longest tenure as lead singer with them.
Larry or as he was referred to during his stay, LB is definitely in my top 5 for singers.
A lot of videos out there of him. Definitely had the stage presence, charisma and the chops to front the band. My all time fav though is Lenny Williams.
I still would like to know the Marcus mystery.

For me - as a long time fan of Tower of Power - Mack & TOP seemed perfect at first sight.
REALLY guys, this is what you´re starting with, "Can I keep my gig?" Waiting for Rocco´s contribution to the series!
I´m confused... was this your idea or the band´s ?!? And yes, I think Marc does a hell of a
job with the band, so this is in no way to disrespect him... but to sum it up: WTF ?!?
