A bit late to this Party, but having watched all the Thunder Child II Vids I've come across its quite interesting to see the evolution from the original to the newer child out of mind. She's a tad smaller then the newer unit. I must say the seating was really a surprise looking backwards from the newer unit. And I gather seeing the T C II that because of Frank's comments she may have been not that fabulous Gold at some point. A truly marvelous thing come to life and what a joy I hope she continues to be. The dingy made me chuckle. And may I say my heart goes out to the family and friends of the souls lost in Rescue 116. Thank you for sharing.

Nice boat. I loved the design of the bow and the upper frame which stabilizes and cuts through water. However, can this boat go in very rough seas like the north sea. Also does this boat have stabilizers or gyros. I know the speed is good so that will compensate slightly for the roll. Anti capsize or roll over means that the boat must be having gyros.

You really need to work on your microphone selection. The answer is to place it close to the mouth and have it nearfield so it only picks up sounds that are very close to it. Also if its directional it helps a lot.

Thunder Child is powered by a pair of Caterpillar C12.9 turbocharged, supercharged and intercooler diesel engines producing 1,000hp each. Fuel tank(s) of 5000+ liters! It's an amazing boat but I think we should be looking at other power sources that are more nature friendly. Just looking at the amount of exhausts spewing into the oceans from the 1khp engines is crazy. Just my thought of the day watching this video.
This thing is frustrating as hell, in that it makes you want to try all sorts of things that you WISH you had the resources for. Like a well suspended cockpit and possibly a kite sail system, or a BIG winsurfer-type sail, with a fast-acting ballast shifting system to keep her flat with wind on her side. This would likely require a pair of retractable dagger boards and a pair of rudders like a Hobie Cat.
Nah I think the barracuda is kick ass but where are all the births and private captains cabin. For the size and pay I’d. Expect a 5 Star cabin down below
