I wanted to comment that my W220 did not have this part at all. Your video covers replacing Part #220-820-06-21 which is available as an MB Part currently available for about $70 or as a cheap chinese aftermarket part for about $15. My 2000 (S430) W220 had a different fixture with no incandescent bulb, only LED, part #254-138 / #254-136 which is no longer available. The release lever is on the bottom left not at the top as shown in your video. There's another video on YT covering how to remove the LED panel and resolder all the connections without having to spend any money to restore functionality.
The best solution is heat shrink with glue in it. I’m gonna remove my mirror and check. Had problems with blinker last year, went away, and is now back again. I have also lost heat in the same mirror. Sounds more like wires than a faulty component. Thanks for the video, gonna disassemble and see if any wires have lost their insulation.
Blinker seems to be defective, but after removing the wire wrapping, I found a cut wire for the heated mirror. Should be an easy fix. Seems like water gets in under the wire insulation, and it corrodes over time. Wouldn’t be a problem if MB used heat shrink on terminals.

honestly, I wouldn't know unless i tried it myself. Dimensions might be slightly different so you're better off just buying a turn signal off of ebay that is meant for the w220
Good job! These lights use diode so they should work or be dead totally. My mirror blinkers are very dim. I don't think it's the cables' fault because they are equally dim. Maybe there is a way to fix it without buying new ones?
Hi there I have a 2001 Mercedes s320 and it has the function for the mirrors to fold in when I lock the car with the key fob I have the function turned on in the car but it doesn’t seem to work just wondered if you had any ideas as to what it might be I have checked the fuse and seems fine and also tried resetting the fob but still no joy I’d be very appreciated for any response you might have

Is there a fuse that controls these side mirrior blinkers?? I just bought a 2005 c240 4matic . All the blinkers work around the car besides the two on the rear side mirrors. Does that sound like a fuse problem? Or have the LEDS gone bad?

very helpful the cheap ebay replacements apparently draw less power than the OEM so they were triggering a fault message for the mirror signal light so I added a small dash light bulb spliced in to use more power and simply put it inside the housing as there is plenty of room
I replaced the old lens with a new OEM parts. I continue to get the fast flashing blinker in the dash and an error message. I read somewhere it may now be a wire between the mirror and the door?

Thank you for the great video, after checking all the wiring behind the left visor , i did not find any broken or cut wires . my question is there a fuse or relay ? that controls that Left side mirror turn signal. i have a 2006 S500 and all lights work but this left turn signal just stopped working. tHANK YOU for taking the time ..
hard to say what the real problem is then. If there isn't powering going to the signal then it might be a wire deeper in. Maybe try tugging them a bit to see if they easily get pulled out of the housing. Another reason may be the bulbs finally giving out.
My w220 starts sometimes but when gets cold is having hard time to start has new fuel pump new,battery new, new alternator, new crank sensor, new fuel relay, ones is running there’s no issues turn it off and on..
Have you tried disconnecting the Mass airflow sensor. Might be getting faulty. When you disconnect it the engine will run on a limp or failsafe mode. Might be a faulty MAF and they are not expensive or hard to replace.
Very clear and well done. You took care of the small details skipped by many others. I have a related question though. A nasty fellow folded my mirror by force and broke the mechanism. It's now loose, folds due to wind when I'm driving. How to fix that?
I've never encountered a problem like that before but I can think of two ways you can fix it. First try checking the spring which you can see at 5:57 in the video. Maybe that spring became undone and all you have to do is reattach it. The second would probably be the motor. You can check this by seeing if the side mirrors still fold electronically from both sides. If the side that is broken doesn't fold, then you'll have to replace that or components within the motor that control the side mirror.
Is it possible for you to make a video on the side markers? I have “1 malfunction” on my ‘03 S430 because the bulb is dead but I have no idea how to replace it, thank you!
Definitely before you another check the connection because my passenger seemed to have been struck. I opened the and reconnected the harness the light. I left the harness unseated the harness mounting bracket so it was easier to reconnect with a lower likelihood of disconnecting again.

Sorry man I’m not too sure where the fuse box is since I’ve never had to replace one myself yet. Try pelicanparts or mbworld. Usually they have some awesome tutorials on that website.

Yes a better longer term fix for sure....

You'll have to take it apart first to see if the wire is cut. If that's not the issue it may have to do something with the car's computer.

this turn signal stripe from w220 looks interchangable with w211 (2002-2006) turn signal stripe, or they are different in dimensions

The earlier W220 models (pre-MOPF, before 2002) have the latch in the bottom area inside the mirror cover.

@001 Mercedes S430 has different design of mirror turn signal. Electrical connection is in the middle of turn signal not at the end.

I haven’t seen someone do it personally but it may be harder and more expensive to do that rather than replace the entire strip

The part number is in the description but other than that I'm not too sure.
Good video. This marker is only valid for the facelift(04-06),the 98-03 use a slightly different marker and is not compatible.
