That's SO nice! You get a childlike joy out of Stevie's guitar wizardry.
Jimi Hendrix was a hero for Stevie, growing up and learning to play by listening. And Jimi pioneered incorporating feedback into his approach to playing. SRV has all that recycling sound, those sympathetic harmonies and overtones so dialed in and available to him when and where he wants them. It really is a magic trick.
If you get a chance, check out Jimi's guitar playing. You'll see what a huge influence he was on Stevie.
Maybe give THIRD STONE FROM THE SUN a listen.
I really enjoyed your reaction to this song. You've got a great heart.
    It shows. 💙

There’s nobody better at guitar than SRV. There may be other who are close but no one who can top the legend. Fact!

Stevie lost a tooth during this performance and was looking on the stage floor for it. No kidding. Also, he had a guitar change in the beginning. He is not only a master guitarist but a master of changing out his instrument mid-song. Thanks Gracie, you're the best.

Stevie Ray Vaughan started playing guitar when he was 7 years old, in an interview Jimmy Vaughan said he broke his arm playing football at school and his parents obviously had to work so they gave Jimmy a guitar to keep him busy. Any time Jimmy would leave he would tell Stevie Ray not to touch his guitar but of course Stevie Ray would teach himself how to play. Stevie Ray could do so much with his guitar using his teeth, backwards, one hand, broken string, switch guitar in the middle of a solo and never missed a beat, tune his guitar while playing, adjust his AMP'S while playing one handed, behind his head, his elbow in Little Wing and play guitar behind his back longer than anyone ever could. Stevie Ray's career only span from the release of his album Texas Flood in 1983 and in that 7 yrs he is in The Austin Music Hall Of Fame, Blues Hall Of Fame, he won 6 Grammys, 10 Austin Music Awards, 5 W.C.Handy Awards, Entertainer Of The Year, Instermental Of The Year and in The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2015 in only 7 yrs. Stevie Ray always said the biggest influence in his life was of course his brother Jimmy Vaughan and after that all the great Blues players like Buddy Guy, B.B King, Muddy Watters, Booker T.Jones and of course Albert King who was actually Stevie Ray's godfather and took Stevie Ray under his wing. When Albert King and Stevie Ray performed "In Session" a DVD I have you could see genuine love and respect they had for each other. IMO STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN WILL ALWAYS BE THE GOAT

I would like to give props to Stevie‘s band, they are a fantastic bunch of musicians that doesn’t get a lot of credit because Stevie is so fantastic!, there is so much going on in this song from the guitar swap, to the amplifier tuning while playing, giving a speech, playing behind his back, playing with his teeth and losing a tooth on stage, you can see him looking for it, you can also see him say I lost a tooth to his crew and roadies, just a fantastic performance altogether, thank God we still have video and audio of Stevie now he’s gone.😢

Stevie wrote this song in remembrance of his friend Charlie Wirz, a guitar shop owner who had that white guitar made as a gift to Stevie. He always used that guitar when performing Life Without You. The tooth he lost must have been bothering him, because after he said it came out, he went to the mic, smiled, and said "thank you, Charlie!" So glad this performance was recorded.
