How did this princess deceive herself that he would love her when she killed his wife and children(although she doesn’t know the daughter survived) soo openly. She fell for him because his character was good and upright with genuine love not the usual fake affection of the noble class, so how could he not seek revenge on her when she killed the woman he was willing to go against the imperial decree for.
Yes, the writers and the actress did a great job. She's not a two-dimensional character. They actually give her interesting layers. But her actions are so despicable and unforgivable, that you don't feel an iota of pity for her. She really gaslights herself into believing that she's entitled to this man and his wife of 7+ years is the brazen hussy who's competing for her. What makes it even sweeter/more satisfying to see her fall is that she's not stupid. She spends half of the drama suspecting that he's working against her, and coming close to figuring everything out. But her head is so far up her ass in her entitlement that she really convinces herself that brutally murdering his pregnant wife - is something that he'll get over it.
Every time I see this ML, I am struck by how handsome he is. The story is different from others I have seen which is a good thing. You can get tired after a while watching 10 different versions of the same story.
He is usually with the same actress as FL (his first wife and later his grown up daughter) in almost every drama. I heard they're a couple in real life.

That’s the tragedy of the story. A happy, loving family was completely destroyed by this evil woman. An innocent woman and her unborn child was cruelly and brutally murdered because she committed the “crime” of being married to someone the Princess felt entitled to. Her innocent daughter had her happy home stolen from her and her husband was halfway mad by the end of his vengeance cycle. It’s also implied that he died younger than he should have because he never got over the trauma of losing his wife. I wasn’t happy the little girl was involved in this but in a world where there’s no mental health support, playing an active role in avenging her mother and brothers deaths was the next best way for her to heal. I was actually impressed that the story went there, to be honest because many stories would try to sanitize it. Instead this one practically made her the co-protagonist of the story. (Arguably the protagonist since the story begins and ends with her, it’s her story not her father’s). That little actress will go places. I wish I could feel sorry for the Princess’s unborn child and baby but considering her utter callousness at her actions up to the very end (she literally said “well your wife must have done something bad first for bad things to happen to her), I’m glad that she was hurt in the worst way a selfish person like herself possible could. And let’s face it, she would have been a horribly abusive mother and would either traumatize her children or turn them into monsters like herself (which is also a form of trauma tbh because no *sane* person acts that way).
this was a great revenge drama everyone got what they deserve and the princess also got what she deserve ending was great, the way princess loved the ML just the same ML also loved FL and he loved her very much if the princess understood this then wouldn't have killed FL she was very vicious.

I think they’ll keep choosing projects where they can act together for a long time, and what’s wrong with that anyway? Who will they ever get better chemistry with? @ When I rewatch some of those dramas, I enjoy them but can’t help thinking that their chemistry with whoever they’re playing against is just vastly inferior to them together. As long as they keep acting in interesting and unique stories like this one, it doesn’t matter (to me anyway) that they’re always in the same drama. Lots of CPs act together almost exclusively (when was the last time MeiMei acted without Yu Long? They’ve acted in over 20 dramas together). Bai Xin Yi and Zhou Yi Wei are just obvious because everyone knows they’re married.

I understand the plot requires the fl to die . So she could have been stabbed or pushed from the mountain. But getting her raped twice and that too gang rapped is absolutely brutal. I don't understand these chinese dramas obsession with rape.

不是夫妻檔喔..白盺怡使4分鐘客串..是朱一未主演..女主是演製作公司捧的惡女的.但她的演法誇張我真的不同意演得好只是沒啥情感唸台詞而已..整個表情誇張無趣..但不可諱言朱一未和小主演演得很好..復仇劇碼太長很無聊..既然要掛白盺怡的名哪就該多一些男主和髮妻的戲份才4分鐘..要我看104分鐘惡女的戲真的看不下..所以這劇是他夫妻倆我唯一沒追只有看前面4分鐘和最後1集就夠了..
