Jonny Greenwood and Cal Newport, a man of culture! This is actually the best representation of how r1 has progressed too, very nice work. The lack of friction /having to open another browser or app, has been the most helpful feature for me.
Thanks to you! One question Adam if you know: I was trying to ask rabbit to send me a note to my email address but nothing. Do you if it is an active operative feature? Or maybe only working in US at the moment ( I'm in Italy). Thanks, Federico
The most wanted Feature are more Languages so we can speak in our own Language with the Rabbit R1. With the promt: "tell me a Bedtime Story about Silent Hill and do it in German" or replace German with fraincais, itally or whatever your language is, the rabbit can speak a lil in the own Language or with the rabbit eye you can say "tell me in (your language) what you can see, it also helps you in the own language but the Language update for speaking in the own language seems the most important one in the moment, before adding some music prompts...
I can't wait until multilingual input support is added, because I think many more people around the world will enjoy the r1. Thanks for watching and commenting!
These are really great videos and I very much appreciate the effort you put into discovering how to use the r1. I seem to have great difficulty with the rabbit recalling things I've saved, but I'm sure it's just an issue with the way I'm prompting it...
Thanks so much for the kind words. I've encountered issues with memory recall, too. rabbit has said that the current memory recall functionality is version 0, meaning there should be improvements in the days ahead.
Man loving mine so far. One worry I have is that being a small company , and the awful early reviews, is if they run out of money. Or run out of interest I guess it would just be a paper weight. But hoping they stay around.
Not a paper weight! There's already a good open-source community who ported Android 14 to it. So it would become a fairly low-spec android phone. It does have 100 gigs of storage, so might make a decent portable media player?
I love mine, too! I'm optimistic about the company. I haven't seen their finances, of course. But I think they're making a solid effort to engage with the community, and I think the price point makes it a competitive complement to smartphones. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I bought this thing a while ago. I’ve only used it once. I thought it was dead, like a rabbit hit by a car with its legs twitching and people still trying to bring life into it. I guess I’ll charge it and see what has changed. Now with OpenAI’s structured output, the large action model which they could never get working can be done by anyone now
LLMs aren't capable of the kind of "hallucinations" that one would need to quantify artificial intelligence such as "Gerbil took the top head" from the Control game. LLMs can only reference sponsor curated SEO selections from existing apps like iHeart, and simply lack the capability of sourcing material with a lower SEO score. And all this despite Amazon's own goal admission that users only use Alexa as an alarm clock
I'm not sure it's true that LLMs only reference sponsored, curated SEO content. In my experience, the responses can be quite thorough, even digging into less popular websites. I appreciate your reference to Control. What a great video game! It was my first platinum trophy on PlayStation!
@@adamjonesink oh i just discovered that i can hold the PTT button and then turn the wheel to completely reduce the speaker volume to zero and that way achieve what i want which is to mute r1 and read off the screen.
I love mine alot. Its super fun i couldnt disagree more with the massive hit pieces taken on the reviews on the rabbit. I write songs on mine all the time. I take pictures of my own art work and love the pixel art it makes with it. I save notes constantly such as a board game im working on. Its a cool piece of tech thats maybe not for everybody but neither are my Roland AIRA synths. I wanted a pocket robot a.i. device to bounce ideas off of with and NOT something that ordered plane tickets for me. Its hip, its cool, the speaker is NOT a problem on the back like i almost canceled mine because of the bad reviews and im so glad I didn’t. Its niche, its hip. It remember notes its great! So no it wont order you plane tickets and its way way way better than siri i dont think people understand unless you play with it.
So glad you're enjoying the r1 and finding it useful! I'm grateful this device exists, and I can't wait to see what features are added in the days ahead. Thanks for watching and commenting!
This question might be a bit personal... Do you use the R1 in your everyday day life? And if you do, how is helping you out? What are like the main features you like the most? Great vid, wishing you luck with your channel👍 Regards from Sweden.😊
Thanks for watching and for the questions! I use the r1 most days. You've given me a lot of ideas to consider for a future video. Here's a quick summary of my thoughts: I mostly use the r1 in the car to ask questions and take notes. My second use case is when I've put away my phone for the evening and I want to stay as present as possible while spending time with my family. Sometimes, I have a question (or someone in my family has a question), so I can ask rabbit r1, and the answer will be "read aloud" for all of us. It's a communal way of learning, and it seems more respectful than staring at my phone to look something up. I welcome your thoughts!
ChatGPT is awesome! I find the rabbit r1 to be a complement to my phone, especially when I want to ask questions in a shared space. For example, I don't always want my phone out when I'm with my wife and two kids. Inevitably, though, one of us has a question about something. I can ask rabbit r1, and the response is read aloud for everyone. And I didn't pick up my phone and give in to the temptation to check my email or other notifications.
Ciao, Ottimo lavoro. Spero che presto faranno anche un aggiornamento in altre lingue, ovviamente anche in italiano. Hi, Good job. I hope they will also make an update in other languages soon, of course also in Italian. Greetings from Rome, Italy. Stefano
I love Apple products, but my experience with Siri is routinely disappointing. I hope that changes with Apple Intelligence, but for now, I find "beta rabbit" to offer far more detailed responses than Siri. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I think that’s not the point (although Siri isn’t an AI as such). Even when Siri gets its intelligence I think the draw of this device is just that: it’s a separate device. True, an intelligent Siri would take away some of the advantage of the R1 but it’ll still be its own thing. If the company behind it do things right, and take it in directions that Siri can’t, then it’ll remain relevant. Something the end user can just use in a simple way, without being part of the Apple or Google ecosystem would be great.
@@adamjonesink I've heard that the Rabbit could answer in other languages if you ask it for each question. That would currently still be a kind of workaround. I would be interested to know if this is true or just a rumor. I don't know if you have the opportunity to test this. That would be great to know. Unfortunately, many reviews on UA-cam don't go into this detail. It would also be interesting to see whether Beta Rabbit reacts in the same way. So, as an example: " What will the weather be like tomorrow in Berlin? Please answer in German" or " Where can I go for a good meal in Paris? Please answer in French"
I just tested this in Spanish, and it WORKS! I asked beta rabbit to tell me about the weather today and to answer in Spanish, and it did. Thanks for encouraging me to try this out.
I view the rabbit r1 as a complement to my phone, not a replacement. It's true that the Perplexity and ChatGPT apps offer similar functionality, but I don't always want my phone around me. I'm too tempted by its other functionalities. Could be a personal shortcoming, but I'm also mindful that professional user experience designers do everything in their power to compel me to scroll mindlessly. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Is beta rabbit using perplexity pro to generate the followup questions?
Great question! I don't know what tools are being used by "beta rabbit." Maybe rabbit could clarify in future Q&A sessions.

Is there a limit on how many notes you can have saved?
Not that I'm aware of. Great question!
While its speaking, how do you make it stop speaking, without having to say anything additional yourself?
One click of the push-to-talk button should stop r1 from speaking. Please let me know if this helps.
