Hey Nigel, great to see you are filling your new greenhouse with plants.
You can achieve more than just 5-6 degrees difference by using heater and a fan in one device. Search for greenhouse heaters, they perform much better in terms of benefit per energy spent.
And not to forget - they are meant to be used in greenhouses unlike your heater and fan you bought. This is actually dangerous, please be cautios.

I like the look of that nightshade vine, too. And I don't know how long it will live, but one of our native vines, Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia) is very long-lived here, and the trunk gets really thick.

I just planted a bunch of (probably Norway) maples for stratification and as I inted to keep my trees short, this video with trident maple pruning was quite on the spot for that!
I've been also eagerly been looking at the virginia creeper change to fall colours on the opposite building, I might sneak myself a cutting next spring. Unfortunately we don't have nightshades here, I love the flowers on that.

Nigel, it’s so exciting to see this proper greenhouse come to fruition!
For filming, it seems there’s a lot of backlighting that makes good exposure of the trees tricky.
I think you could put a pull down shade on that back wall to use as a filming backdrop, and just retract it when you’re done - very low profile and good for production value :)

Nigel get yourself a Bluetooth temperature sensor for both greenhouses, they track temperature and humidity, I like the brand Govee, take a look on Amazon. Then u can have a graph of temperature and humidity over time very useful

There is high probability that this fern is hardy, if it grew all by itself. Ferns have a little bit complicated lifecycle, and so it is much more likely that is germinated out of spores from garden ferns, than houseplants.

Have loved watching the greenhouse come together and get populated. Very thoughtful of you to include fahrenheit conversions - I can think in celsius but when you say "5 degrees cooler" it's a bit more of a challenge to convert the difference and then also subtract on the fly.
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a Discord server dedicated to Bonsai - surely there must be a few, in which to share tips and photographs?

Just wondering with the trident maple or any deciduous tree, is there a benefit to waiting till the leaves drop off before pruning as the tree will reclaim some energy / nutrients from the leaves as it drops them off?

      (For a weed)
I'd say they can live for 4 years in the wild. so I bet it would for about 10-20 years if you take care of it
By the way I know this because they grow like weeds here in Texas.

That greenhouse is awesome - in and of itself!
You do realise as well though it's the ultimate ManCave? There are no criticisms that holds up to scrutiny:
Why did you spend all that time building it?
Because I'm going to put all the sensitive trees in there, or they'll die. Aw!
Are you going to go and drink / take drugs / party with your friends / get up to nefarious stuff in there?
No, you can see through the walls. I'm just going to go in there and look at beautiful plants. I can't smoke stuff in there, the plants will die, and if I'm stocius on booze, I'll fall through the glass. Or stab myself with sharp tools. You can come and join me if you like, but there's no drink, drugs, nothing on the walls to stick a picture to / dartboard on anyway like a rumpus shed, and no lock on the door.
If you eat the red berries I can't guarantee you won't go for a loop and see the future, but we're not doing that.
Why are you spending all that time in there?
Because it's beautiful, and the trees will live for hundreds of years, it's a net social benefit. And good for my vitamin D and mental health.
    😃
Only kidding! It's very nice and glad you built it, it was nice watching you do it!
