Burning the outside forces the oils to the inside creating a strong citric acid and orange oil solution. That's floor cleaner. Probably acid burnt the entire mucus layer off.

My doctor kept saying that I need to be properly fed and hydrated and it was worst 2 weeks ever... And I was completely bed ridden and eating and drinking water being a kind of torture made it even worse!!!

@@freakyfrank1549 not really because capsaicin makes your brain actually think your mouth is on fire (hence the burning). the only thing you taste when you eat spicy foods are the seasonings (or other things ig) that make it flavorful

I could eat uncooked foods, but certain foods like peanut butter I couldn’t eat. The crust of bread also tasted horrible. Thankfully after a week or so it cleared up, but I unfortunately had it on Christmas 😭 it wasn’t fun
you most likely have parosmia. when i had covid in 2021 it ruined my taste so bad i couldn’t eat ANYTHING. i found out that the only thing that didn’t taste like sewage was fruit. my whole family had covid and i was the only one suffering from it. i’m STILL to this day suffering from it but luckily the only thing that still tastes bad is chocolate. it sucks but at least i can eat a normal meal lol

Covid burnt out my mucous membranes, there was nothing left to sense spice. She's not lying, she probably just doesn't know that that is what happened to her. I spiced the hell out of all my foods just because I could get away with it (though, my stomach protested....).

You should go to an ENT - they can help you especially if it's pressing on 2y.
