Very well made! Very interesting! Thank you for that! And I didn't even know that Tokyo Verdy used to be Kawasaki Verdy. As I live in Kawasaki for half a year, this makes me a little bit proud :) I mean not that Kawasaki Frontale today was not good either :P
No sooner had Verdy won the first title, the team owned by the Yomiuri Newspaper conglomerate (Nippon TV is technically a part of it, who owned the team later), announced that they wanted to move to Tokyo. League originally wanted no Tokyo teams due to Yomiuri’s Giants baseball team being so dominant as a fan base in the country and based in Tokyo. Hence FC Tokyo was the first team in Tokyo, while Verdy returned in 2001. However after 1995 their success had waned as did the fans.
Fantatic video to let the fans know more about history! Love Verdy's jersey that year, probably among the best in the history, with THAT iconic dance from the King!
Was there as an exchange student in the second half of the season and the first weekend in Japan watched the S-Pulse beat Verdy in PKs as part of that 9 game win streak. Alcindo was doing hair wig ads. Ramos for Verdy with J-League furikake. Bismarck with Verdy Just made them impossible to stop it seemed. The Antlers were a great story that first year but even looking back 30 years, they have stayed successful. A good friend of mine is from Ibaraki and we still talk about the Antlers even now. Seeing them face Real Madrid a couple of years ago in the FIFA World Club Cup was cool. Kazu was outstanding for Verdy, cannot believe he is still playing.
Legendary! What a year for Japanese football. So many legends, so many exciting matches! Are you guys gonna do a video like this for the 94 season too?
J league is inspirational for Thailand football league. We love j league

ホーム&アウェイのハズが何故かヴェルディの実質ホーム国立競技場で2試合行われ、読売クラブ創設メンバーの高田静男が2試合とも主審というJリーグの汚点とも言えるチャンピオンシップだったなぁ。
